Quiet, beautiful and relaxing

Everything about the property is as advertised. It was clean, comfortable and located on gorgeous property. We enjoyed the fire pit, some swimming and it was close enough for hikes near Ely and the North Shore.

Beautiful View

The view of the lake was amazing. Loved the wood burning stove. My husband and I stayed for our Anniversary and it was a nice and cozy. The stairs to the cabin were surprise and not fun to carry all our stuff up and down. Otherwise a great experience.

Rejuvenating for body and soul!

This is exactly the experience we were looking for! Beautiful off the grid cabin filled with books,waking with water lapping at the porch, great fishing and complete solitude. The sauna was the icing on the cake! Thank you Jim for sharing your wonderful place with us.

Peaceful north woods getaway

We had a great time in this little cabin on the lake, fishing and relaxing. The sauna was an added bonus along with the much used screened in porch.

Amazing cabin

This cabin is incredible, it’s so unique! We had such a peaceful and fun time. The place was clean and comfortable to stay at. They had all the necessities for cooking. We hope to be back soon to enjoy the lake.

Literally ON the lake

Quiet, seclusion, peaceful. The gentle breezes from being right on the lake kept the bugs away so we spent SO much time outside on the deck/dock enjoying the scenery. A few otters and loons came to visit. Loved this cabin.

Unique - Calm - Magical

Our family stays at many MN & WI cabins - always lakefront! But this location, literally on the water’s edge
 is what UpNorth Woodsy fantasies are made of. Calm waters. Peaceful woods. Clear starry sky! So thankful we stayed here

Great spot on the lake!

We really enjoyed being right on the water. The lake was very quiet - even on the weekend. We saw lots of loons and several eagles. And the screened porch kept us dry and outside on the one day it rained. The cabin had everything we needed. Thanks!

Perfect solitude!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Secluded location, perfect size for two people, cozy and comfortable, well stocked. We love the hot sauna on cold nights, snowshoeing, star gazing and quiet time reading by the fireplace. Beds are comfortable and place was very clean. Communication with the host was easy and prompt. We would love to come back sometime in the summer. Thank you James for sharing your cabin with us.

Peaceful

What a gorgeous location. I came alone in winter, can imagine it is delightful during summer but the solitude during winter was amazing. All I heard was wind in the trees. The gas fireplace was nice once the sun went down to keel the living room cosy. Truly the location and view are amazing.

Lake Mitawan is private, remote, and surrounded by the most beautiful nature we've ever seen! Our neighbors are the moose, loons, foxes, and deer. It's the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living and unwind in the fresh air and water that is unique to the North Shore of Minnesota.

When you step out the door, you are on a dock/deck and can launch a boat, jump in the lake for a swim, cross country ski, or snowshoe right from the front deck! We make it easy to explore by providing a canoe, kayak, fishing boat, sail boat, and snowshoes. The authentic, traditional Finnish sauna is a unique experience and will be the highlight of your cozy winter weekend getaway!
