Windward - New Orleans Area Waterfront Home with Pool

Windward ligger i Slidell, en förort till New Orleans. Det ligger 25 minuter från det franska kvarteret och är en enkel bilresa till I-10. Hemmet har totalrenoverats 2019 och allt i det är nytt. Designermöbler genom professionellt planerade och implementerade. Vackra accentverk och konstverk. Stort vardagsrum med storbilds-TV. Nya apparater och köksutrustning. Stort däck med flera soffor och plyschstolar. Vackra stora ekar som hänger över däck och ger ett bra område för skuggade sittplatser. Däck är bara 15 meter från vattnet. Det finns en enorm dockning på 60 fot med tillgång till djupt vatten via båt. Ta med din båt och barn och simma, åka skidor, fiskar och båt i sjön Pontchartrain. Sjön ligger 3 minuters båttur från bryggan. Det finns ett stort däck som har plats för åtta och extra stolar för överflöd. Hemmet ligger 7 minuter från några av landets bästa fiske. Du kan till och med fiska precis utanför bryggan i trädgården. Det finns fenomenalt fiske i Rigolets i närheten med otroligt saltvattenfiske och tillgång till färskt vattenfiske inom 20 minuter med båt.

Du kan spela i vattnet eller på båten hela dagen och träffa det franska kvarteret på natten för mycket kul och fest som ingen annanstans. Du kan ta en Uber, taxi eller köra. Bra från två par eller en familj. Det finns en bäddsoffa för överflöd som sover i vardagsrummet. Hemmet har ett snyggt lager kök med alla nya apparater. Det finns en dubbelugn och stor spis. Hemmet har en stor arbetsplats och ett stort matrum med ett bord som expanderar till plats 8. Perfekt för familjen att träffas och stora måltider.

Great place

Only thing we were worried about was there were no safety locks on the doors to keep our grandson from going out back, where the lake and pool were. We made our own. So if you stay, just bring a little portable lock that you can buy on Amazon. The pool was alittle cloudy. Otherwise the house was awesome, loved the neighborhood.

Fabulous girls weekend

My friends and I had a lovely stay here, great location and close to lots of great food choices and not far from French quarter. Rain didn’t let us enjoy the pool, but the back patio was very nice to hang out at.

Nice Getaway

The area is lovely with all the channels, very walkable neighborhood. The home fit our group of 10 perfectly. I would suggest bringing some beach chairs with you to use on the deck as there weren't beach chairs or additional seating to use out by the pool other than the outdoor table and chairs and the 2 loungers. Not far to drive for Sams club, Aldi and local grocery store which was convenient for grabbing food for the week. Its about 30 min drive into NOLA, and 30 minute drive the other way to wondeful beach town so the location was great! Lisa was very quick to respond to any questions or needs. All in all, nice place to stay.

Very good

Outdoor space was very relaxing. It has easy access with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor for people with limited mobility. We would have enjoyed having chairs in the bedrooms. There was an amble supply of towels. My impression is that whoever owns or manages this property, has never stayed here or monitored the housekeeping.

My group had an amazing stay at this property. It was absolutely gorgeous and in a convenient location. I definitely would recommend staying here; it’s great for bigger groups!

Great space and location

Spent school vacation week at Windward with family, including 2 grandchildren. Plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 children, with a pool for additional fun. Lovely setting on the canal with good proximity to New Orleans, grocery sores and Swamp Tour.

The property is great for a big family! We enjoyed the serenity of the backyard and pool. Daily fishing and crabbing was always a hit. We would stay at this property again.

We love your place. It was both beautiful and relaxing. The neighborhood was very nice. We would definitely book again if we came back to the area. No negative comments, but with the 104 weather...an outdoor ceiling fan would be nice.

Beautiful home

It was our first time visiting Louisiana, honestly the places we wanted to visit were at about 25 minutes distance from the house. However, the home and the back deck, plus the pool gave us a well time spent there. We enjoyed the house and the person in charge was great at communicating. There were a few things missing at the house, like toilet paper and not enough garbage bags but I contacted the person in charge and within an hour she sent someone to bring us what we needed. loved the view from the master bedroom. We had a great time.

Beautiful home, great location!

Beautiful home and in a perfect location close to New Orleans and other touristy things to do. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. Family enjoyed the deck and pool the entire vacation. Sn: I did contact the host prior to arrival and she was very responsive and addressed my concerns.

Stay Away!!! Not as advertised

Sent property owner… received no reply Mrs Lisa Our stay was not satisfactory. I am not sure if you visit your home but I would like to give you the following feedback. 1- Washer was connected but never fixed. Master bathroom tub cannot be used for baths due to drain not working properly. Hose doesn't work on the back patio. Pool has an excess of salt at the bottom of the pool. House water softener level is way too high because after showering or taking a bath, everyone never felt dry. 2- Floors have not been moped in a very long time. Walls are not wiped, countertops were not wiped, nothing was dusted. Your bathroom towel rugs are filthy and haven't been washed probably since you purchased them. There are stains on the drapes. If your home was renovated, it looks like it was renovated years and years ago. Your description reads newly renovated. That may need to be taken off of the description. 3- tree limbs needed to be picked up and trimmed 4- your exterminating company either needs to come or needs to be replaced with a company that will spray to kill insects/bugs. There are an infestation of roaches on your patio from the tree. There are roaches in your home and roach poop in the kitchen drawers. 5- the pool noodles left for use gave the kids rashes from flesh eating bacteria causing the kids not to go back to use the pool. The salt from the pool caused the sores to burn. The lake is not safe for swimming due to an infestation of alligators/garfish

Beautiful & quiet setting on the water

Nice & modern home right on the water. After a few days in the city, our ladies trip crossed over to Slidell and this house met all of our needs. Swamp tours are close, easy drive up the gulf to hang out on the beaches, and old towne Slidell super cute!

Perfect large home!

We loved our stay in this home. Perfect for 3 couples, a 7 year old, two 2 year olds and a baby. The flow throughout the home worked well with plenty of space, bedrooms, and bathrooms for everyone. The kitchen worked well with multiple cooks. The deck and pool were totally enjoyable. (For the toddlers we just put their life jackets on any time they went outside. We used the dock, and fished successfully ten minutes away by boat. Fresh caught fish for dinners. Location was very convenient with easy fast grocery deliveries. Quick in to New Orleans and the airport. And lots of outdoor activities available nearby. The home was perfect for the multi-generational vacation.

Lake Home Slidell

This was a very quaint and quiet neighborhood that fit our need for rest and relaxation. Perfect size and amenities where awesome. Would rent the place again in the future without thinking twice about it.

Nice but……

Although the property was beautiful and beds were comfy there was one major flaw, security. The house has some electrical issues and when reaching out to the owner she was responsive with sending out someone to take a look. When service should up they informed us that the electric issue has been going on for over a year and he informed the owner, over a year ago, that he is unable to fix this issue. THEN service installed a chain on the front door the day before we left and informed us that the code to access the house key had never been changed. Everyone who had stayed there in the past knows that code. NOT SAFE! I would not stay there again because of that safety risk.

Windward is very comfortable and beautifully decorated with all new furnishings and finishes. Right on the water it is peacefully set in a waterfront community just a short drive (25 minutes) from the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans. Very conveniently located for shopping and dining with the family. Windward is also centrally located to allow access to the Mississippi Gulf coast beaches and casino's. You will not find a more comfortable home with water front access, a deep water dock, large deck with comfortable plush seating, a pool, and an amazing view of the bayou and wildlife. Fishing is right off the dock in front of the house. A BBQ pit is available right on the deck. You can have it all with swimming. boating, kayaking, water skiing, tubing, barbecuing within a short drive to New Orleans. The home also has a large fireplace for cozy fires after a long day on the town. Very peaceful and quit at night for a restful night sleep. Great close dining options within a few minutes drive of the house.
