Burnbank House har dekorerats i stilen Federation Arts and Craft Bungalow från 1915 med en välkommen blandning av antika möbler och moderna bekvämligheter. De dekorativa taken, de ursprungliga blyljusfönstren, utsmyckade eldstäder och restaurerade Kauri-tallgolv kompletteras av den svepande verandan med utsikt mot öster och ett stort bakre däck gränsar till en skräddarsydd stenmur.

Koppla av i vardagsrummet när du sprutar ut på Chesterfield-soffan eller ta ditt morgonkaffe på köksbänken som är uppåtriktad från järnvägssliparna som har upptäckts från husets ursprungliga fundament. Efter en dag ute på att utforska skatterna i Wentworth Falls och därefter, skäm bort dig själv i ett dopp i klöfotbadet.

Family holiday in the mountains

Loved staying in this beautiful spacious house with our family. Lovely surroundings, close to cafes, shops and bush tracks. Would love to stay there again.

Great House, Great Stay

This is such a great house - this is the second year we have stayed here, at it is fantastic every time. The hosts are amazing - very helpful and accommodating. Definitely a 10/10 stay!

Winter long weekend

Perfect position to commence the Grand Cliff Top walk and return by train. Comfortable and warm with everything we required. Beautifully restored house, plenty of room for friends to enjoy.

Fantastic

We are a group of friends who all have older teenage kids. We left them all at home and had a weekend away.from the dinner we all had together on the first night and the breakfasts we all had together to the excellent Shakespeare we saw at the Everglades and the casual walks down to Wenty shops, everything was perfect. It was marvellous and we would very much like to come back. The house is beautiful. Thank you for the excellent hospitality!

The house had everything we needed. The owners had thought of everything. Very close to Wentworth Falls Village and some lovely coffee shops. The house EIS beautifully furnished and decorated and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you for having us.

A Lovely Stay

This beautifully restored old home is a joy to live in. That is cook, eat, sleep and (in our case) spend quality time with family from overseas. The kitchen is well equipped. The high ceilings and leadlight windows give a sense of spaciousness and the under floor heating works a treat!

Absolutely gorgeously renovated heritage home in perfect location

My friends (5 of us in total) stayed at Burnbank house for a weekend girls getaway. We cooked, enjoyed the beautiful sitting room, and enjoyed easy walks to cafes. House was just stunning. Immaculately renovated and designed. VERY comfortable beds. I’m 7 months pregnant and slept so well. Easy drive to Katoomba and Leura. Can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to coming back again.

Perfect location

We just completed our stay in this lovely restored heritage property. The home is located within easy walking distance for the Grand Cliff Top walk, train station and shops. The Grandview Hotel which had a great bistro/dining room is 2 minutes away. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay with ducted heating throughout, hot showers and very comfortable beds. Though the property faces onto the Great Western Highway, the vehicles going past didn’t affect our stay. The home is actually accessible from the rear in Dalrymple Ave with plenty of vehicle parking space. We used the trains for transport and with a cost around $1 one way for Leura & Katoomba it’s very economical. There are good take out food outlets in Wentworth Falls about 5 minutes walk away. We highly recommend this property and thank our hosts for allowing us to stay.

Beautifully restored gem

Burnbank House is a favourite of ours - we have been visiting for a weekend each year for the past seven, and Burnbank never disappoints. This beautiful house has been lovingly restored and has everything you could want for a mountains getaway. It may be on the main road but with double glazing you don't notice once inside. The bistro at the pub across the road is great for our Friday night dinner, a short walk to Wentworth Falls shops, and plenty to do in the area. Four bedrooms, separate lounge and dining rooms, there's plenty of space and comfort in this gem, and the hosts are the best i have dealt with.

Blue Mountains Retreat

My friends and I spent 3 nights at Burnbank house and it was absolutely lovely! The house was gorgeous, clean and tidy. Our hosts were excellent communicators with an easy check in and check out process. Would highly recommend to others looking to stay in Wentworth Falls. One thing to consider is, because the house is on the older side albeit renovated, it may not be super allergy friendly. A few of my friends, who are allergy prone did struggle a bit.

Beautifully restored home

Absolutely gorgeous house, with a very homely feeling. Plenty of room & very well appointed. Walking distant to some lovely shops, restaurant & the Grand View Hotel. Also a short drive to Katoomba & Leura. Being on the highway, there is some traffic noise, but not so loud as it's annoying or disturbed our sleep. Would definitely stay again & recommend it to others.

Great location for a Katoomba holiday

A wonderful property that suited our group of 6 perfectly for a weekend away. The house has a great layout, with a well kitted out kitchen and everything we needed, as well as being easy walk to the Wentworth Falls shops. Great communication with the owners ensured a smooth & enjoyable stay. Couldn't have asked for more!

Serenity at its best

We loved our stay here - a mini Downtown Abbey, for sure. :) The property was clean and comfortable, and had a super cosy feel to it. We loved the outdoor dining set, and the mini sized BBQ also allowed us to cook up a delicious meal. Another highlight was the bakery that was just a short morning walk away. Though we didn't meet them face to face, Desleigh and Ashley were very lovely hosts, who had great communication skills. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We loved it! As a side note, the mattresses are quite firm (which I loved!), however, this may be something to note, if that type is not suitable for you. The fridge was full sized, but "not massive." However, it was suitable for our needs and everyone loved their time there. Thank you so much! Highly recommend this beautiful property!

Varför värden valde detta boende

We had been searching for a suitable property of some historic significance to undertake a restoration project. On Saturday 6th April 2013, a well attended auction was held onsite at Burnbank, 166 Great Western Highway, Wentworth Falls and Ashley placed the winning bid.

We engaged the services of heritage architect, Margie Fallon of Integrated Design and plans were soon underway to restore, renew and renovate this valuable heritage property. Work on the property began in August 2013 and guests will find the venture well documented in the project album located in the house.
