Rymlig fyra sovrum karaktär hem perfekt för familjer och stora grupper. Ligger på 1/2 tunnland i ett lugnt exklusivt semi landsbygdsområde med World Heritage NP bakgrund. Bara 15 minuter från Cairns City & Airport. Känguruer och andra djurliv lockas av våra tropiska trädgårdar. Vi erbjuder kök matlagning faciliteter, tvätt, badrum, underhållning däck, grill, brandgrop, barnen svänger i en stor bakgård 5 min promenad till affärer, busshållplats och kaféer. Gratis NETFLIX, WiFi, tvättmöjligheter, biljardbord och mer.

Vi är 5 min promenad från ett köpcentrum, bränsle, busshållplats och kaféer. Vi är en kort bilresa till Palm Cove, Kuranda, Cape Tribulation, Daintree, Port Douglas, Cairns och Great Barrier Reef. Vi är ett hållbart hem och odlar vår egen mat.

Strandhanddukar finns också tillgängliga för strand- och revresor. Stort glasbord för middagar. Fullt utnyttjande av köksfaciliteter som inkluderar kaffebryggare, mikrovågsugn, gasspis, kylskåp, vattenkokare, kaffekylare, bestick, tallrikar, koppar, krukor, rispanna, brödrost och mycket mer för att göra din vistelse bekväm. Vattnet är 100% säkert att dricka. Vi är också anslutna till Cairns stadsvatten. Gärna dricka så mycket vatten som du vill.

Vi startar din resa med några gratis frukostflingor, snacks och kryddor som kan inkludera te och kaffe, socker, mjölk, kex, spannmål, bröd för rostat bröd, smaktillsatser, fritt utbud färska ägg och fruktjuice. Vi lägger till organiska säsongsbetonade frukter och hemodlade grönsaker och örter från vårt växthus. Allt du kan äta Mangos, Limes, Lychees, Kokosnötter när du är i säsong också. Grill och uteserveringar finns också om du behöver det.

Du har full tillgång till grunderna och nedre lägenheten. Vi bor på plats på övervåningen och respekterar din integritet men är tillgänglig för råd och även som en tour guide om det behövs. Känn dig fri att kolla våra växthus, fiskedammar, grönsaksgårdar, australiensiska Bush Tucker, orkidéer, tropiska trädgårdar och kycklingar. Vi är mycket glada att visa dig runt.

TRANSPORT
Vi är bara 5 minuters promenad till köpcentret, 5mins till lokal pub / bistro och bara 15 minuters bilresa till Cairns CBD och flygplats. 121 bussen går regelbundet till och från Cairns stad och avgår köpcentrum varje timme. Det är ett mycket säkert område i en mycket lugn gata. Vi kan ordna att hämta dig / släppa dig i staden / flygplatsen (för en liten avgift). Det finns ett nätverk av 10kms cykelleder också som kan ta dig genom sockerfält, köpcentrum, historisk järnväg, parker, Crystal Cascades och hela vägen till flygplatsen, strand och stad. Om du använder detta hus som bas för att se området ligger det mitt i allt. Oavsett om du har hyrbil eller använder kollektivtrafik är det enkelt att komma till alla sevärdheter.

Family stay

We had an amazing time in Cairns and this was a great base for us about 20 minutes out of the city. The hosts were friendly and got back to us straight away when we needed the access code to get in. The only reason we didn’t give 5 stars overall was because one of the windows in our oldest sons bedroom had a broken pane which has previously been reported but not fixed yet and he complained about it being noisier than he is used to with the sounds of animals outside. It is a beautiful home in a stunning location and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

FAMILY CATCH UP

The house was very spacious and it catered very well to the size of my family and it was really comfortable. I think the price was reasonable. It had aircon throughout although it was quite cool weather. It has windows all around which was good, however there are no ceiling fans. The first day we arrived, we got there around 4.40pm., check in was at 3.00. Only the young son was there to meet us but he was very nice also. We had no TV for the first night, the lady was back by then. She tried to fix it and so did her son. They couldn't fix it, she had to get someone in the next day to fix it, which they did. I think it should have been done before we arrived. Understandably, she didn't realise as there had been storms recently but it should still have been checked. Also, the internet was only available up until 11.30pm according to their notice. It should be available 24/7. I'm not sure if it cut at 11.30pm because I didn't use it. The only real problems for us was, you can hear people walking around quite clearly upstairs. Obviously they had children up there because they were have a few small disputes here and and there and there was abit of stomping around. Sounds can be heard quite clearly. It's not good if you are a light sleeper. Maybe they can sound proof it or something. Other than that everything was pretty good.

Awesome for adult family

The unit is really good for a family or group of adults. With four bedrooms and a big living area it was ideal for us and our adult children. Quiet neighborhood with room outside in the garden as well. With a good kitchen we could spend our money on tourist activities, not on restaurant meals every night. You will need a car to go sightseeing or shopping, but the journey is fairly quick. Rodney (the host) was helpful with local knowledge.

Such Comfort!

Our stay in this beautiful home was amazing and we felt so comfortable and welcomed. Such an amazing family who will do anything to help make your stay 5 out of 5! I would happily go back when we visit again.

One of the most memorable experiences we every had

Our stay with Rod and Evelyn will an amazing experience. They are amazing hosts, very special people, their place is unique and magical, and staying there was as much as part of our trip for these days as the places we've seen. The house is situated in front of beautiful mountains, with green all around it, and looks like a colonial tropical building of the past. The first floor, where the guests are, is very spacious, which was great for us, it has a pool table, and air hockey which the kids loved, and many bedrooms. The garden is huge and beautiful, and we had breakfast in there. But most of all are Rod and Evelyn. Rod took us to a night animal spotting which was magical - we saw quite a few animals and the kids were fascinated. Then we had a bonfire, twice, with them, and shared many thoughts and stories, We learned a lot about the economical green house the Ron has, and about snakes, frogs, and all the animals of the area. The kids connected with their kids, and played with them in the garden, so that we felt like being with a family and not just with hosts. We will remember this for a long time, and greatly recommend the place.

Rods from Australia, Evelyn is from Papua New Guinea. We love Cairns tropical environment and happy to share our knowledge with guests.

We love inviting guests into our home and have met so many wonderful people travelling this great country. We have had over 150 groups through and dozens of individuals and we really know what you need and do our best to provided it eg tourist information, bus timetables, toiletries, beach towels, sunscreen, airport transfers, maps, books, bush walks, waterfalls, lookouts, family spots etc.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We strive to be a Sustainable home (not green wash) and are very environmentally minded with solar power for energy, permaculture gardens and grow our own fresh organic vegetables, have chickens for fresh eggs, farm Barramundi and Jade Perch in our Aquaponics system, native bees & fruit trees. The house if fully fenced with a massive back yard. Kangaroos and Wallabies and exotic birds and butterflies visit us every day from nearby bushland.

Also 5 mins drive from the house is one of the most popular train stations for the historic Kuranda Train. Kuranda is well worth a visit and you can either drive, take the train or do the Skyrail. The Skyrail is a gondola trip over the rainforest that takes you from the bottom of the range to the top where you can check out all the great things to see in Kuranda. Of course there are all of the tours going out to reef and up to the Daintree which are also on offer in town. You can easily book these tours or go for a drive yourself up to the Daintree and see all the attractions on the way up. It is a lovely drive and you can always stop in at Port Douglas on your way up or back.

Also we offer you an exclusive Barramundi Farm tour if you would like to hook your own Barra and cook it on the BBQ either on farm or take it back to our home to cook it later.

We are more than happy to share our local knowledge and point you in the right direction or be your tour guide and take you to our favorite spots. We often have campfires outside and cook marshmallows on the open fire, BBQ's and your free to join us. We have local knowledge where the fish are, lookouts, rainforest bushwalks, cycle ways etc. We are an adventurous family and love getting out and about. If you chip in for fuel we can even include you in our family adventures. As an Environmental guy- Rod can lead you on spotlighting tours into National Parks, bush walks, bird watching trips, frog, crocodile spotting, mammal, insect and reptile spotlights, if you want to explore the world heritage national parks (must be pre arranged for when Rods available). Rod takes many guests on private tours to suit guests needs.

We have set our backyard up with an abundance of food growing. We have 7 separate aquaponics systems, fruit trees and permaculture gardens. Our house is in a rural residential setting in a new exclusive estate with majestic views of mountains in every direction (yet so close to town). Expect to see Birds, Butterflies, Lizards and Kangaroos and heaps of wildlife at our house. We currently have sun birds, willi wagtails and doves nesting in our trees. There are wallabies and kangaroos feeding on grass outside everyday as well. We are constantly planting new tropical food gardens to attract wildlife and improve our property. We have recently planted the entire boundary for privacy and plants are growing quickly.
