Spacious place!

We had a wonderful trip with four of us-plenty of room. We saw manatee off the dock and loved the walking trails around the island!

Overall great stay

This home is in a wonderful community. This particular unit definitely needs some work. The rain literally poured in the upstairs patio door and trickled in the main floor patio door. The carpets are just horrible. My feet looked dirty after walking around the house. The grout is crumbling in showers and kitchen counter tops. The fire alarms are ready to be replaced. We had to take one down because even the new battery didn't work. It started chirping in the middle of the night twice.

Fishing trip

The boat access at the house was perfect for our fishing vacation. The house is in a great location, not too far from getting out on the water. House does need to be updated and it would be fabulous. Also there needs to be lighting on the dock, my mother in law fell into the canal. The bed upstairs was super uncomfortable and loud, and the faucet continuously drips so I’m coming home pretty tired!

Nice place but…

Home is in a great location with a fantastic view of the creek. I lived on the back deck morning and night watching the boaters, paddlers and kayakers go by. If you have or rent a boat a 25’ boat fits perfect. Watching the manatees go by was such a treat. The house was clean and has 4 bedrooms and 4 baths but in need of an update. The living room furniture is leftover from other pieces and half the recliners are broken. All the beds need to be updated, they are very uncomfortable and squeaky. Although when asked they did replace our mattress. Maybe because we were their a month. They also need more items in the kitchen. I had to purchase a few items such as serving plates and some other items. We had 8 adults their for 1 week and had plenty of room. Biggest negative were the beds and furniture but also water pressure and carpets need to be replaced. This place has huge potential with minimal effort It’s bit stuck in the 80’s Definitely bring a fire stick because none of the TVs are smart TVs Every time I needed to call management they were very responsive to all our needs. We had a problem with sugar ants, which apparently is very common down there, and they sent an exterminator. Just keep everything in ziplock bags or the refrigerator. Would I rent again? Yes if they did some updating and unlocked the thermostat. They locked it at 72 and it was way too warm at night.

Very quiet. Stairs to unit should be stressed. Had problems with WiFi first day. Fixed quickly. Things that were challenges: not enough glasses, no explanation of how to work tvs, no batteries in remotes, no extra toilet paper or trash bags, need better comfy chairs on the deck and living room. Beds squeak. Cabana was great but quite a walk away. Loved the sunset ceremony. Could have used more info about area.

Needs some updating in the bathrooms. (One tub out of order, shower upstairs needed updated, toilet is loose upstairs. And the downstairs especially the kitchen had an ant problem. Other than that everything was fine. Great location! Owner was awesome!

Nice but needs attention

Excellent location and very spacious. The house needs updating and quite a bit of attention. There is a lot of damage and things that do not work in the house, which was unexpected. Walls and doors were damaged (some we couldn't close), ants and bugs in kitchen and throughout the house, AC leaked into hallway, many faucets were broken or did not work, the garden tub in the master suite was not functional (sign that stated Do Not Use) and hot water was a commodity that you may or may not have for your showers. What we did like were the large covered balcony's, specious rooms, TV's in every room, bathrooms for every bedroom, covered parking for several vehicles, and washer and dryer. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the house served it's purpose, but for the price, we were just expecting something a little bit nicer.

Overall very good but a few nitpicks

We enjoyed the house. It worked well for our family. We have already re-booked for next March. There are a few little things that would improve the experience. The WiFi was very spotty, it would go in and out frequently and could be stronger. Some sort of privacy screen would be nice on the patio/balcony on the main floor. A table and chairs on the main floor balcony would allow our family to eat outside comfortably. The only other thing was the main TV. Almost every time we turned it on the picture would "freeze" . The management was very responsive but every time the service person came it worked for them. We were always out so don't know if we were doing something wrong. See ya next year!

Deck is the Asset

This home has huge potential but has dirty carpet, squeaky beds, old sheets, short on wash clothes/hand towels and kitchen towels. The living room furniture is run down and the cable is very few channels and no HD. Kitchen needs large bowls that don't leak and measuring cups/spoons. Jr suite needs cabinet face to be re-attached. Twin bed bathroom in back needs faucet repaired. With some TLC this place could be a great rental.

Spacious House

The house is very spacious for a family or friends trip and the 4 separate bathrooms is a great feature. I was surprised to see all the bedding was updated from the original photos shown. Newer style bed sheets were nice! However, the downfalls were broken items in the house. Bend bed frame wheel on one of the twin beds (maintenance did come fix), 3 toilets in the house continuously ran, the hose bib on our side did not work and did not have a hose so we had to use the neighbors to wash off dive gear, grill was very dirty with residue built up and the dock area was maybe under condition or just a temporary fix because there was a large section with plywood and a missing piling. We would stay again in the future, just recommended some upgrades and fixes to be done.

Good for a guys fishing trip

This house has lots of room for a group of guys to stay for a fishing trip. But the property does have some issues. I stayed there with my parents and two young children. The kitchen counters and floor had spills on them when we arrived (but the local property manager did offer to refund half of the cleaning fee to make up for it). The carpet in the bedrooms is stained, soiled, and torn in several places. Our feet would be dirty if we walked around the house without shoes. Some of the tubs had no plugs so you couldn't use the tub for bathing children. The electrical outlet under the house in the parking area wasn't working, but the tenant on the other side allowed us to use one of theirs so that we could plug up a bait freezer. But....the house has lots of room for a large group. And the price is lower than several other smaller properties around. The views from the balconies are beautiful. We saw manatee, sting rays, iguanas in the palm trees, and several other things. My family has been coming to Key Colony for over 35 years. We've stayed in several units...some better, some worse. If you're looking for a lot of room at a lower price to house your crew and you're not picky at all, then this would be great!!

Nice place

The home was very comfortable and clean. However, there was no broom, only one hand towel for the kitchen no wash clothes or hand towels for the bathrooms. Other than a few minor details it was ok.

Beware, a lot of deferred maintenance here. Upstairs bedroom mattress will be sure to roll you and your partner to the center; threadbare sheets, stained white towels. As mentioned above in the survey, there were maggots in the trash can and recycle bin and it took 3 calls to have someone come to the property and deal with this issue. There is plenty of space here, which is the only saving grace of this rental. I would not recommend this rental. Consider something else or you will have week of backaches due to the mattress issue. And don't plan on using the tub as shown in the pictures; it is not available to use, apparently having leaking issues and the taps have been removed and a lovely do not use sign on the tub. Take our advise, look elsewhere for a rental.

Great Family Vacation 2017

We really enjoyed our stay at your property. We were a little disappointed in the Cabana Club. Place & employees were nice we just didn't like that we couldn't take our own cooler onto the beach with our drinks & sandwiches. So we went to Bahia Honda beach & Sombrero Beach.

Last fishing trip with our Boys

Was not ready for occupancy.

We arrived at a property that was half paints blu. An extension latter blocked our entry to the stairway & had to be removed by us. The trash at the bottom of the stairs was overflowing. There was dirt and trash on the stairs and walkway going up to the unit. The door to the duplex was wide open & someone who was staying in the adjacent unit was doing her personal laundry in our unit. The front door when clsed has a gap under it through which ghost ants & flies can pass. The floor wasn't mopped and all the linens in baths & bedrooms were mismatched & many in shabby condition. We were unable to use the cable the first three days. The toilet backed up on Christmas (not due to anything we did). There were no tall kitchen bags or floor cleaner until we asked & they were brought. On the balcony was a broken washing machine, a mattress & various bed linens. If these things are attended to and a hair dryer and a pair of tennis rackets were pu there instead of Easter baskets and other innocuous stuff, it would be a desirable property due to its proximity to several amenities.
