Such a lovely place to stay! Kitchen utensils all stocked and two gas cookers to cook with. Bed and couch super comfortable, and lots of firewood outside for when we ran out. ATV ride up and down was a great part of the experience and all our luggage fit! Wouldn’t bring too many perishables if staying longer than three days as even the best chilly bin can’t keep milk cold for that long!

What a View

Stayed with my partner for a couple of days and deeply enjoyed it. We really needed to rest and Falcons view was the perfect spot for it. Orelle and Hamish were really friendly!

We literally just spent the whole time in the spa admiring the views & listening to the birds. It was a nice change from running around after the kids lol thank you we absolutely loved it

We had a great stay at Falcons view, the views are stunning with complete solitude! The cabin is very comfortable and cozy on colder nights with the fire. The perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you Hamish and Orelle, we will be back!

The McDonald’s moved to Rangiwahia in 2009. Hamish and Orelle chose to home-educate their growing family and as a result, each of the children have been hands-on developing the land, buildings, gardens, animal husbandry, machinery and most anything that pertains to the country living lifestyle. They are not superhuman. The years have not come without challenges. Falcons View was created to take time out from the intensity of those challenges. The family have chosen to share that with others.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Falcons View is situated on 70 acres of farmland with regenerated bush at the foothills of the Ruahine Ranges. Designed and built in 2019 by the family, it became an avenue to bless others and to financially support their large family and charitable endeavors. Profits are used to sponsor and support health, education and humanitarian aid projects in New Zealand and the South Pacific through ADRA. Vad som gör detta boende unikt

This retreat was named Falcons View due to the frequent NZ Falcon's that live in the surrounding habitats and also for the sprawling vastness that drenches each window.
The optional wood fired Hot Tub makes you feel like time can slow down after all. With the cosy wood stove during the colder months, the simple studio layout and complimentary off-grid power, it still has the comforts of home that will make your stay a place to renew your strength and reach new heights again.
