Detta hus har en avskĂ€rmad veranda, 57 fot lĂ„ng, med utsikt över myrarna och en tidvattenbĂ€ck med utsikt över ön Sapelo i fjĂ€rran. Intill verandan finns ett dĂ€ck pĂ„ 16X18 fot. Sitt i vĂ„r bubbelpool hot tub pĂ„ natten pĂ„ dĂ€ck under en tak av lysande stjĂ€rnor, ominskad av civilisationens ljus. Det finns fem uppsĂ€ttningar franska dörrar som öppnar sig mot verandan pĂ„ sydöstra sidan. Öppna ytterdörren och franska dörrarna, och en mild bris blĂ„ser genom hela huset. ÄndĂ„ Ă€r hela huset ganska privat. VĂ„rt hus ligger intill, men borta frĂ„n ditt utsikt. Inga andra grannar Ă€r synliga.

Köket har utsikt över det stora rummet, med utsikt över trÀsket genom tre uppsÀttningar av franska dörrar. Det stora sovrummet ligger pÄ ena sidan av huset, med de andra tvÄ sovrummen pÄ andra sidan. TvÄ sovrum, med king size-sÀngar och sÀngklÀder med hög trÄd, har franska dörrar som öppnar upp till verandan. Eller sova pÄ sÀngen pÄ verandan, om du vill. Ett kontor och den och matsalen ligger i nordvÀst. De har utsikt över en nÀstan privat lagun, som du kan fiska i och Àr full av vilda djur och exotiska fÄglar, som inkluderar trÀstorkar, svartkronade nattheroner, vita ibis, stora ÀgretthÀger och snöiga ÀgretthÀger, smÄ blÄ hÀgrar, tri-fÀrgade hÀgrar, gröna hÀgrar, huva sammanslagningar och pileated hackspetsar. Norpor kommer ibland att foderas i tidvattenbÀcken intill huset. Det tredje sovrummet, med en queen size-sÀng, har utsikt över lagunen och ett myrhörn. Vi har ocksÄ ett kontor (med en futon) som vetter mot lagunen. Om du bara vill umgÄs har vi en platt-HDTV, Blu Ray-spelare, Netflix och Amazon Prime direktströmfilmer, plus ett underbart ljudsystem.

TvÄ dubbla kajaker sitter pÄ toppen och en kanot finns pÄ plats, vilket gör det enkelt att komma pÄ tidvattenbÀcken direkt frÄn vÄr fastighet. Vi har ocksÄ Ätta cyklar (fem feta dÀck vuxna och tre ungdomar i olika storlekar). Om du tar med dig egna rekommenderar vi feta dÀckcyklar om du planerar att Äka pÄ nÄgon av de mÄnga sandiga vÀgarna. Men det finns mÄnga bra Äk för magra dÀckcyklar. För motorbÄtar finns det en offentlig lansering mot en avgift (back-in trailer gratis) nÄgra mil bort. Ta din egen bÄt ut till ön Sapelo (inom synhÄll av huset) och dess vackra strÀnder, eller ta fÀrjan pÄ $ 2 frÄn dess lansering en mil bort. Kör 25, min. till Harris Neck Wildlife Reserve och se de finaste fÄgellökarna pÄ Georgia Coast och förmodligen hela sydöstra Atlanten.

Beautiful setting. Only the sounds of nature. Marshbreeze is a comfortable place to stay. Very much enjoyed our time. Host was helpful and friendly. Great vacation. We really felt like we got away from the Atlanta hustle and bustle.

We had a great time. Kayaking was great, went out in the marsh everyday during our stay. Great bird watching. Hot tub was nice and relaxing. House is clean and had everything we needed. Don was great host, answered all our questions. We will definitely be back.

Nature Getaway

The property was in a lovely spot on the marsh and was open and comfortable. There was plenty of space for 3 couples and we really appreciated the willingness of the host to let us use bicycles, kayaks, and binoculars. We enjoyed exploring the nature in the area and opted to go to the beach within an easy drive since our weekend turned out to be so warm. A lovely stay!

Marsh tranquillity

Wonderful spatial property with exceptional views from the large screened porch. Enjoyed eating within the graciously stocked kitchen as well as at fine seafood restaurants nearby. Our ramblings were historical, scenic, and fulfilling. Home base was exceptional.

The house is poorly maintained. The house is covered in mold, steps to enter house deplorable, garage doors missing, window sills dirty, mattress so old topper has been added. Linens, blankets and towels old. Scaled coffee maker full of old grinds. Chairs in dining room wobbly. Recliner in living gets stuck open. Ceiling fan blades with edged dust mounds. After booking this house I happen to be in the area and drove by to see location. Contacted the host to tell him the house needs to be cleaned, garage door fixed and lawn cut. He promised to have this done. He had 9 months before our booking. I kept the booking based on his promise. We arrived and nothing had been addressed. I contacted the host Don Carson. He said we like to keep the lawn natural for nature and there are ping pong tables in the garage. If I could have found another place last minute I would have left. I was embarrassed since I’m the one who set it up and my family was disappointed. I do not recommend and I will never return.

Marsh house does not disappoint

We loved everything about this gem of a property: the huge porch where we watched amazing sunrises, ate dinner, and relaxed on; the comfortable mattress in the master bedroom; great WiFi; fully stocked kitchen; and the hot tub to relax and count the stars after a full day! Our dog got lots of good sniffs during his walks on the property and we had little thrills seeing the two resident alligators in the pond near the house! Highly recommend this place for a tranquil and peaceful escape.

Very serene and relaxing stay

This was a very secluded, private place to stay at. There was plenty of space and the screened porch was amazing to just sit and watch the marsh. We had a couple of issues but the owner was pretty responsive. I will definitely be back to stay here again.

Pure Peace

The views are gorgeous. Even in the rain. The porch is the perfect place for a cup of coffee or a nap. The absolute sense of peace that we left with is priceless.

Great place in the salt marsh

Very roomy get away in the Georgia salt marsh. The house was extremely well equipped. The views were spectacular with wood storks, spoonbills, egrets and herons the nearest neighbors.

We Love the Marsh

As many others have stated, the view off the back screen porch is awesome! We also enjoyed watching the egrets and roseate spoonbills off in the marsh. The house was wonderful and the beautiful art throughout made us feel like we were in an art museum. Our hosts were fabulous greeting us when we arrived and providing lights when the power went out for a couple of hours (after effects of Hurricane Helene). We will definitely be back again to stay at this great location.

Wonderful house on Saltwater Marsh

Spent a week here and it was wonderful. Large and open design, with great views of peaceful marsh. Property itself is off main track, thus quiet as can be. The owner is friendly and helpful. Brunswich, St Simon Island and Jekyll Island are only 30-45 hr drive away if looking for beach and some good food.

Relaxing Bliss

Marsh vacation

We loved our stay! The hosts were great! The house was clean and well stocked. We loved going out in the kayaks. The wildlife was amazing. We saw countless bird species, dolphin, and manatee. We enjoyed taking the bikes out for rides on the quiet costal roads. It was a most relaxing vacation and we would love to return!

Marvelous Property overlooking the Marsh

Want a relaxing long weekend with a great location and great seafood, Marshbreeze is the place to go. Weather was perfect for sitting on the screen porch or in the hot tub and bird watching--we even saw a flamingo fly by. Our son is a history buff, so we visited multiple historical sites dating back to the 1700s. All the beds were very comfortable and Don and Susan are great hosts. We will plan to visit again!

Susan until 09/09 was director of Canopy Studio, an aerial arts teaching and performing center in Athens, GA. Don built Canopy Studio and did the rigging and technical work there. He now makes carbon fiber dance trapezes and sells them all over the world. Susan still teaches some workshops and master classes around the country, but mostly she teaches occasional workshop/retreats to aerialists that come from around the country to the aerial dance studio that Don built next to Marshbreeze (which opended April, '13).

They met in New York City (where Susan taught and performed and Don was a commercial photographer) before moving to the SF bay area for 9 years, then to Athens for 10 years. Now they are full time in Darien.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

We decided that we love the marsh more than the beaches. There is so much wildlife just off our deck. It never gets dull. One minute it is tranquil with a golden glow sunset. Then, other times we are treated with a symphony of thunder and lightning. We like the proximity to Savannah as well as the civilized Jacksonville airport.
