Välkommen till "The Sage Way" gård! En lång trädkantad privat uppfart leder till 25 tunnland absolut himmel - i hjärtat av Frederick County! Historisk bondgård, ladugård och uthus byggdes ursprungligen 1870 med tillägg och renoveringar under de senaste 25 åren. Ett naturligt vårfoder damm och gäss som besöker! Bekvämt beläget på Fredericks Route 40 Alternate, en minut från I-70, och mindre än 10 minuter från historiska centrum av Frederick. Avskilt och lugnt - men ändå nästan granne från golf, shopping, restauranger, antikviteter, vandring, cykling och mycket mer.
Njut av all charm och attraktioner i Frederick, eller våg dig till närliggande platser från det franska och indiska kriget, revolutionskriget och inbördeskriget i fyra stater och District of Columbia (en enkel bilresa). Naturen är på gården och sveper upp i Blue Ridge Mountains.

Great place for retreats!

We had an amazing stay! We used the house for a church retreat and it was exactly what we needed. Plenty of space, beautiful property, and very warm and helpful property owner. We would definitely stay here again!

Large house for family gathering

This is an old farmhouse with an addition, which means there is some charm and some interesting features. We were thrilled to find a place big enough for our extended family to gather for our mother's/grandmother's funeral services. There were plenty of rooms and beds, lots of sitting areas. Most of the bedrooms are HUGE, and the others are plenty big. Beds are comfortable. There are plenty of bath towels. The bathrooms are good, some could use a better shower head. The kitchen is fine, well stocked with dishes and pans. Note: the kitchenette in the basement has absolutely nothing in the cupboards. Laundry room is large with a second full size frig/freezer, right next to kitchen. There are steep stairs going upstairs and down to the basement, difficult for those who have mobility issues. There is a "West Wing" bedroom suite on the main level though. Even though it was winter there were a few bugs. However, if you don't want bugs, don't stay in a farmhouse that has a pond in the backyard. The best feature is being SO close to grocery store and everything in Frederick. As mentioned in other reviews, it could use some simple maintenance fixes and a deep cleaning. However, we were just glad to find a place to accommodate our large family group for such a good price.

All rooms had a view!

Loved the location; hosted a Christmas Eve dinner for friends and family. There was plenty of room. Kids loved playing ball in the fields. Setting was beautiful. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of some amenities. There were no wash cloths or dish towels; only one roll of paper towels (we were there for almost a week), some of the bath towels could use replacing, and there were no hangers in the closets. However, there was a decorated Christmas tree and lovely table cloths in the dining room. We would surely rent again.

Fabulous Family Time

Sage Way Farm provided great space for the 15 family members (aged 1-60) who stayed for 5 nights. We came from 6 states + Australia and everyone was very pleased. It also provided space for friends and family to be added for multiple gatherings over that timeframe. The large dining & kitchen tables were always full with meals, games & plenty of conversations. The 3 living room areas offered options for multiple gathering spots and the large patio and lawn were fabulous for games, bonfire & lots more talk time. Plenty of beds for all (including 2 pack-n-plays for littles) and bathrooms as well. The kitchen is well-equipped for a crowd. Road noise from I-70, yes, but not intrusive. Communication with owner was easy and prompt. Check in/out was a breeze. The 150 year old wood floor in original part of the farmhouse was gorgeous! Definitely made for fabulous family time!

We had family and friends all stay together to attend my son's wedding. The farmhouse is set off of a busy road so you get a country-like feeling. Check in and communication was hassle free.

Family Reunion at Sage Way Farm

Our family has gathered several times at Sage Way Farm for annual reunions. It is a convenient location for some of the family and a pleasant destination for the rest. The farmhouse is perfect for our group of 12-16 guests. Two large kitchen areas with plenty of cookware/dishware for meals and very nice outside area grounds for sitting/gaming. Large and comfortable bedrooms on 3 levels and 3 large rooms for sitting/dining, plus a laundry room and outdoor patio. The location is secluded, away from the hubbub of Frederick shopping areas, yet close enough for convenience for shopping and meals if needed. The family enjoys this venue and lovely farm/farmhouse and will undoubtedly return in future years.

Beautiful property! The host was delightful...very friendly and quick to respond to all of my questions both before I booked and also once we were there. We had a family gathering/party one evening and the house was perfect for that! This is an lovely old farmhouse so I was not surprised by some "wear and tear" ... expected.

Exterminator and Good Cleaning Needed

We immediately had the heebie-jeebies due to the uncleanliness and disrepair of the home. We had no choice but to stay because of the size of the group. The walls and baseboards are filthy (drink splatters, handprints, years of dust) and lots of nicks and mars. I started taking pictures because I didn’t want to be blamed but there were so many, I gave up. We were constantly killing earwigs, stink bugs, and other bugs. They were even on the bed! The carpets were vaccuumed and hard floors sweep but clearly not mopped well. The house is not well maintained with peeling wallpaper. There was a place where the peeling wallpaper was taped and a bug was trapped under the tape. A comment from about a month ago states that they have started renovations and none of us could see that there was any evidence of that. The fencing is all falling down and rotting. There is a lovely outdoor area however the chairs are so dirty that we didn’t want to use them. I find it odd that all the property rules aren’t listed on the property site. You get those once booked. In those rules you can’t put the air above 78!!! On the thermostat there is a note not to put the thermostat for air below 75. It was incredibly hot in the house which made it difficult to sleep even using the fans provided. On the positive side, we arrived early and we were allowed to enter the property. The kitchen refrigerator wasn’t working but remedied in a few hours & we got a great rate for an extra night.

Christmas 2023

We stayed with our family coming from as far as South Korea and South Dakota here in the states. The size of the property was perfect for our group of 12 adults and 5 children. The location was excellent with plenty of attractions to see in the area as well as shopping close by. We’d recommend this property for a large family. If you have specific questions, the host was very accommodating and friendly!

Perfect stay

I couldn’t have asked for more. My Dad had just passed away so we had a crowd for the funeral. There are multiple areas for different activities which included a chess tournament, music jam, and eating area. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. Great all round for a large group.

Wonderful spot for a family gathering

My whole family raved about the Sageway Farm! It was exactly what I expected from the photos. Everyone loved the expansive living areas upstairs and downstairs. I loved the XL dining room. The location is outstanding, very centrally located; which also means a bit of road noise while outdoors, though we all felt the indoors is well insulated from the road noise. The kitchen was well stocked, though the toaster could use an upgrade: it is overheating after 2nd slice, posing a fire hazard. We could have used a few more drinking glasses and the garlic press doesn't press, it mushes. The beds and bedding provided was comfortable for summer. Overall, just lovely for a large family gathering! Thank you!!

Annual Maryland Trip

We could not have chosen a better location and place to stay for our annual Maryland trip over Labor Day weekend. It was our 20th anniversary of the trip and this property made it that much better! Our consensus is that this will be where we stay for as long as the property is available. It was more than we could have asked for and imagined! Everything was well kept and maintained, and it was like walking into home!

Pros: location, great size rooms for large groups, beautiful outdoor space, large kitchen, 2 dining areas, accessible spaces for a guest who is almost blind Cons: coffee pot full of mold, no hot water in main house first night- fixed in the morning but huge inconvenience because guests couldn’t use the other bathrooms that worked due to who was in them, owner responded quickly but in all caps, just rude. Could have been understanding and helpful instead. Would be nice to have washcloths.

Family gathering

I have to agree with another recent review…this house was spacious and full of potential. We were a group of 12 with plenty of room to either gather together or stay out of each other’s way. The main level kitchen was well stocked, but nothing in the second kitchen downstairs. Peaceful location, if you don’t mind traffic noise from 70 in the background. The house really needs a good deep cleaning- wish I had brought flip flops to walk around inside. My white socks are now black on the bottom. There were cobwebs and dead bugs in many locations. The basement “in law suite” has mold in multiple locations. On our last day, a massive swarm of bugs emerged from under the stone patio. Communication from the owner was fine until we arrived. On day one, I called to report a low battery in a smoke detector, which was chirping. Never heard back from anyone, and there was a second smoke detector that was missing altogether. The response to the bug situation was basically, “Sorry that happened”. Finally, internet connection had some issues, impacting ability of one parent to monitor their child’s blood sugars. Sorry to say I would not stay at this property again.

Fun Family Vacation

We had a blast and this house was perfect size, but giving a review is really tough! In terms of the bedrooms, social rooms, etc., you couldn't ask for a better house. However, the upkeep of the home and location did not match the description on this site! This home could be amazing with a little TLC, it's so charming. BUT, there is definitely work to do! This home is VERY rundown (wallpaper peeling, bugs, door handles falling off, mold in showers, etc.) Also, it is just a small field away from a major highway, so leaving the windows open to sleep at night isn't an option unless you prefer to hear highway traffic noise. Working with the owner or property manager was excellent and we were able to get in early, which was really appreciated. Again, the size was perfect, we were just a bit disappointed with the up-keep and location.

Our Visit

We always enjoy staying here. It is a wonderful location to Frederick, lots of privacy, lots of room for pets and friends. Some light bulbs need to be replaced but otherwise, we were comfortable and we all had a fun visit to Frederick.
