The farmhouse was perfect for my family and friends attending my grandson's wedding. The only glitch was that we lost water. The owner was able to have the problem repaired.

We stayed in this farmhouse for a family wedding. The house was absolutely perfect for a family gathering. The pictures do not fully tell how spacious and convenient the layout is. It is well equipped, the owners have thought about everything you might need and it is all there. We had several age groups and they all had a room to spend time together. The last day was all about how awesome this long weekend was and how perfect the place was for us. I am posting a picture of the last day when people thanked me for making this trip so memorable in this beautiful place.

Property was as described and pictures were accurate. Plenty of room and space inside and out for a large group of adults and animals. The decor is a little dated and worse for wear and it’s definitely not a new house. But the pictures and description accurately represent the house. Host was very communicative and helpful. Great location near Frederick but removed enough to have privacy. Some of the instructions in the welcome binder were contradictory and it could probably use some updating.

Everything was exactly as it was described on the VRBO site. We had a large gathering to celebrate my daughters upcoming wedding and it was a perfect venue. All 16 people had bed space and plenty of room in the house. Absolutely loved the house and the property.

A June Week on the Farm

This historic house and farm property have a lot to offer! We were able to accommodate two mobility challenged adults, and keep school age children entertained in spite of intermittent rain all week. 10 people gathered comfortably and shared meals together. Our queries were satisfied immediately by the hostess. There is a caretaker on the property. But the best part of our stay involved looking for the snapping turtles in the pond, bird watching, listening to the bullfrogs in the evening while gathered around the fire pit, catching fireflies, flying kites among the hay bales, croquet tournaments on the lawn, riding our scooters on the maple lined driveway and doing crafts and playing board games in the many nooks. If you’re looking for a nostalgic country setting conveniently on the edge of Frederick, this is your farmhouse!

Spacious House, great for group

Wonderful, large house, perfect for our men's golf outing needs. Close to courses, great dining and activities. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy, nice outside area as well. Sleeping arrangements worked really well for 7 men. Great communication with owner, he was nice enough to allow us to check in early so we could make our tee times. Would definitely recommend!!

Great place for retreats!

We had an amazing stay! We used the house for a church retreat and it was exactly what we needed. Plenty of space, beautiful property, and very warm and helpful property owner. We would definitely stay here again!

Large house for family gathering

This is an old farmhouse with an addition, which means there is some charm and some interesting features. We were thrilled to find a place big enough for our extended family to gather for our mother's/grandmother's funeral services. There were plenty of rooms and beds, lots of sitting areas. Most of the bedrooms are HUGE, and the others are plenty big. Beds are comfortable. There are plenty of bath towels. The bathrooms are good, some could use a better shower head. The kitchen is fine, well stocked with dishes and pans. Note: the kitchenette in the basement has absolutely nothing in the cupboards. Laundry room is large with a second full size frig/freezer, right next to kitchen. There are steep stairs going upstairs and down to the basement, difficult for those who have mobility issues. There is a "West Wing" bedroom suite on the main level though. Even though it was winter there were a few bugs. However, if you don't want bugs, don't stay in a farmhouse that has a pond in the backyard. The best feature is being SO close to grocery store and everything in Frederick. As mentioned in other reviews, it could use some simple maintenance fixes and a deep cleaning. However, we were just glad to find a place to accommodate our large family group for such a good price.

All rooms had a view!

Loved the location; hosted a Christmas Eve dinner for friends and family. There was plenty of room. Kids loved playing ball in the fields. Setting was beautiful. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of some amenities. There were no wash cloths or dish towels; only one roll of paper towels (we were there for almost a week), some of the bath towels could use replacing, and there were no hangers in the closets. However, there was a decorated Christmas tree and lovely table cloths in the dining room. We would surely rent again.

Fabulous Family Time

Sage Way Farm provided great space for the 15 family members (aged 1-60) who stayed for 5 nights. We came from 6 states + Australia and everyone was very pleased. It also provided space for friends and family to be added for multiple gatherings over that timeframe. The large dining & kitchen tables were always full with meals, games & plenty of conversations. The 3 living room areas offered options for multiple gathering spots and the large patio and lawn were fabulous for games, bonfire & lots more talk time. Plenty of beds for all (including 2 pack-n-plays for littles) and bathrooms as well. The kitchen is well-equipped for a crowd. Road noise from I-70, yes, but not intrusive. Communication with owner was easy and prompt. Check in/out was a breeze. The 150 year old wood floor in original part of the farmhouse was gorgeous! Definitely made for fabulous family time!

Wedding gathering

We had family and friends all stay together to attend my son's wedding. The farmhouse is set off of a busy road so you get a country-like feeling. Check in and communication was hassle free.

Family Reunion at Sage Way Farm

Our family has gathered several times at Sage Way Farm for annual reunions. It is a convenient location for some of the family and a pleasant destination for the rest. The farmhouse is perfect for our group of 12-16 guests. Two large kitchen areas with plenty of cookware/dishware for meals and very nice outside area grounds for sitting/gaming. Large and comfortable bedrooms on 3 levels and 3 large rooms for sitting/dining, plus a laundry room and outdoor patio. The location is secluded, away from the hubbub of Frederick shopping areas, yet close enough for convenience for shopping and meals if needed. The family enjoys this venue and lovely farm/farmhouse and will undoubtedly return in future years.

Beautiful property! The host was delightful...very friendly and quick to respond to all of my questions both before I booked and also once we were there. We had a family gathering/party one evening and the house was perfect for that! This is an lovely old farmhouse so I was not surprised by some "wear and tear" ... expected.

Exterminator and Good Cleaning Needed

We immediately had the heebie-jeebies due to the uncleanliness and disrepair of the home. We had no choice but to stay because of the size of the group. The walls and baseboards are filthy (drink splatters, handprints, years of dust) and lots of nicks and mars. I started taking pictures because I didn’t want to be blamed but there were so many, I gave up. We were constantly killing earwigs, stink bugs, and other bugs. They were even on the bed! The carpets were vaccuumed and hard floors sweep but clearly not mopped well. The house is not well maintained with peeling wallpaper. There was a place where the peeling wallpaper was taped and a bug was trapped under the tape. A comment from about a month ago states that they have started renovations and none of us could see that there was any evidence of that. The fencing is all falling down and rotting. There is a lovely outdoor area however the chairs are so dirty that we didn’t want to use them. I find it odd that all the property rules aren’t listed on the property site. You get those once booked. In those rules you can’t put the air above 78!!! On the thermostat there is a note not to put the thermostat for air below 75. It was incredibly hot in the house which made it difficult to sleep even using the fans provided. On the positive side, we arrived early and we were allowed to enter the property. The kitchen refrigerator wasn’t working but remedied in a few hours & we got a great rate for an extra night.
