Home Away From Home

This property has everything you need for that perfect beach stay. Despite the fact that it’s a duplex, there is plenty of privacy on the porch with the barrier wall and inside, good sound proofing. Superior cleanliness, and what appeared to be high quality new mattresses. Hardwood floors for easy care and ample amount of quality cookware. Island Way is right next door for eat in or carry out. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful

The property is well kept and very clean. It is also in an amazing location 20 minutes from all needs and wants. Priceless to be able to send your kids up to the house to use the bathroom grab a snack etc and be able to watch them to and from the house to the beach.

Perfect Location

Second year here. We stayed in West last year. The previous vacationers froze the unit up but within one hour the rental agency had us up and running. We will be back again.

Cute Beach Cottage

Can't beat the beach front location and right next to a fantastic restaurant on the fishing pier. House was clean and decorated perfectly for the beach. Loved our stay and would stay again.

Location is amazing! Comfortable place

Great location right near the pier and on the beach! Communication with the owner was prompt and kind. Checking in / out through a local rental agency was do-able. Remember, its a beach rental, linens were dropped in a bag via a cleaning service but everything worked out well. Comfortable enough place, certainly great value for the cost, we'd go back!Bring toilet paper, there was ZERO TP when we arrived

Good but surprised it was a duplex

Clean and great location. Did not realize it was a duplex.We were also surprised that there were no starter products. No paper towels no toilet paper no dishwashing liquid very little body soap. Had to buy.

Excellent place, wonderful views, we will stay again.

We loved the layout, the location, decor and the beds were comfy. The only complaints ?and they were tiny) were we found dirty silverware in the drawer, We were surprised that we had to put on our own bedding and remove them upon departure primarily because one of us is in a knee brace and one was in a boot. And there was nothing there as far as shampoo, soap, even to we had to go buy because we stayed 3 nights. There are a few spots on the flooring that are soggy we were careful on. I’m sure overall rentals always need extra TLC.

Bad neighbors

We like to stay on in ocean front on the beach so we can open the door and hear the ocean and smell the salt air. However, our neighbors were smoking pot. So all we could smell that first day was their stinky weed. Also, we were instructed to call the office for possible early entry but the office was closed. We were fortunate to catch the cleaning lady who allowed us to entry after confirming our reservation. She was so kind. Also, we were shocked that there was no toilet paper or paper towels. We have never in 40 years gone into a rental property at the beach and not had such basics on hand. We were told later that it was because it was "off-season." Probably won't stay here again or use this rental agency.

First night

Except for having zero toilet paper late Sunday evening when we arrived and a screaming baby for the first night, it was wonderful. There were no occupants next door after the first night. It really needs sound deadening between the walls.

Great Place!

This is our 2nd year staying at this property. While we enjoyed it last year there were some issues, but not enough to prevent us from returning this year. Everything was resolved, and we could not have been happier with our stay. Location is excellent (2 doors down from a fabulous restaurant: Island Way, that's totally affordable w great food), it's clean and well taken care of, and we noted too, that the appliances had been improved (silverware, cookware, etc). We're excited and planning on returning for our 3rd visit in the fall of '25.

Nice

Home was clean and right on the beach. Offered an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beach with family. House was a little worn around the edges, but nothing of issue. Bathrooms were great and bedrooms were very nice and comfortable. Clean sheets and towels were waiting for us. Kitchen was ok but could use some attention. Also didn't have any dishwasher detergent and only a partial roll of paper towels. Overall for the price it was nice.

Our home away from home.

We booked our next stay the day after we left. That should say it all. Photos on web are true representation. Well stocked kitchen if cooking on vacation is your thing. Love the Keurig. Great location with the best restaurant on the island right next door. Rocking chairs on the covered porch and just steps from the ocean make this property a gem of a stay.

Location! Location! Location!

The location could not be better, steps from the beach! The back porch was a great place to watch the waves and relax. Rooms were spacious & beds comfortable. Perfect for our vacation needs.

Our go-to vacation cottage

4th year we have stayed here. My sister from Maine & my daughter and i had 14 days of beautiful view, the breezy warm weather. We love lookingat the pier at night with the lights over the water. The beach is peaceful also. A few people walking dogs, some small groups sitting out. We love looking for unique shells! We are planning next years visit here.

Area was wonderful. The house literally had nothing. Not even toilet paper. Should not have to buy everything for a place when you are there for only a couple of days. Had to check in with a company in town, instead of just having a key code. You even had to make your own bed since the linen company leaves the linen on the floor in a bag. Dishes were left dirty in the cupboards. All appliances were very outdated. Gave you nothing for the beach. Said there were chairs but way rusted and unusable. Motel would have been better and probably cheaper. The owner answered some question but not really into this. Water pressure in master bath was a trickle in the sink. Shower did have pressure. Would not stay with this company or renter again. Not sure if anyone even cleans it thoroughly.

Property Two Tortugas

The property is not as advertised. The pictures make the place look much bigger than it is. Would sleep 4 comfotably, not 6. There was a gaping hole underneath the dishwasher. We killed roaches in the place every day we were there. There is a terrible seltic smell in the area of the washer and dryer. The place had been sprayed with so much perfumed spray, we were overwhelmed when we entered. When we smelled the awful septic smell, we knew why the spray smell was so overwhelming. I

Love this

Great location. Very clean. Loved the covered porch, with rockers, the 55” smart TVs, nicely stocked kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Can walk to Island Way restaurant and the bar at the pier. Would stay there again.

Oak Island long beach side

Property was, as described, clean and all essentials for cooking/eating, rece tly renovated and has an awsome view, restaurant and fishing pier next door and only a short walk. Plenty of parking.
