Troy House

It is a nice house, lots of room and functional for a vacation. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. However, I was given the incorrect code by VRBO to unlock the door. Fortunately, the owner had texted me with the current code. The kitchen equipment was sparse - not enough everyday plates or bowls (only 4 of each), so we had to hand wash them them after every meal. The knives were all dull, not enough types of cooking tools and only one cutting board that was glass. It would have been better if there had been more cutting boards and ones that were not breakable. The largest fry pan was no longer "non-stick" and that is the one we needed the most. The ad stated there were bikes and a a basketball hoop. We did not find them. Lastly, one of the toilets kept clogging. I wanted to share this directly with the owner, however he did not respond to my request for his email. This was too much to type in a text.

Rural comfortable home

The house was very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. Owner was very responsive to questions. The house is quite secluded and quiet, lovely for a relaxing vacation!

Beautiful spot to get away and relax

Our family stayed at this property while we attended an event in Bangor, The home was beautiful and rustic, just what you would expect from the photos. The home was well maintained and had all the amenities we needed. Check in was seamless, and property owner was very accommodating and accessible. We enjoyed the privacy and peacefulness of the location, while still being central to locations we wanted to visit.

Nice cabin in central to lots of great locations in Maine. Not much in the immediate area, but lots of great locations nearby for day trips.

Relaxing!

Once again, this property filled all the needs. Well kept, spacious and comfortable, and near so many things to go see and do. We drove to Belfast and checked out the harbor and the boats and had an excellent lunch at Dockside restaurant. We will choose this property again hopefully next year.

This home is absolutely stunning! The sunrise and sunset were breathtaking. The home was welcoming and comfortable. Everything went beyond our standards and we will be 100% be coming back to this property!

Wonderful property

We loved this house! Everything was great -- it was very clean and well maintained, with a lot of obviously recent updates. The view off the the large covered deck in the back is just amazing. The large property is very private and quiet. The only downside was that there isn't much nearby in terms of restaurants and grocery stores, so come well stocked. Highly recommended!

Home base for Maine

Location is excellent for getting to almost anywhere on the coast in 90 minutes or less. Beautiful views from the back porch especially at sunset. Kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials and then some. Our young kids enjoyed romping all over the little farm exploring. We saw 8 or so wild turkeys one morning. We highly recommend staying here to anyone wanting a relaxing retreat away from tourists in a Maine summer, but still close enough to do all the touristy stuff. Brad and Sarah...July 22, 2022

Comfortable and relaxing getaway! Don the owner was mowing when we arrived, great to meet him! There was nothing lacking in this rental except for the food you needed to purchase for your stay. I would highly recommend this rental.

WONDERFUL place to stay

We had a wonderful visit. The booking was easy, the check in was seamless and I would stay here again and would recommend this home to others. The house was clean and well stocked. There were young apple trees on the property with ripe apples. The owner was kind enough to let our kiddos enjoy them! It was a very sweet gesture! The beds were comfortable, the decks were nice and made evenings very enjoyable. Laundry on site was convenient. The Welcome packet demystified all the processes. The house was secure and located in an area that felt safe. We left so rejuvenated. The only consideration for families with small children is the stair case down to the basement. I mistook one picture as showing a gate, but it wasn't a gate. We were able to block off the stairs with a bench, but it's something families with very small children want to pay attention to. So grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely home.

Great house

Our party of 4 (2 kids) really enjoyed the house. It was ideal for us with the kids (9, 11) having their own room and bathroom. The location allows for daytrips to key sights in Maine. The house very clean and well stocked (both kitchen and cleaning supplies). We enjoyed unity pizza every night when returning from day excursions. We will definitely stay again in the future for any Maine trips.

Taxidermy House

Extremely well kept property, quiet and semi remote. Easy to get to and the house amenities are up to date and comfortable. Don was willing to work with as our original dates had to be restructured because of a canceled flight, he was able to work with us and reschedule everything in a short period of time. 30 min from Bangor, 30 min from Belfast, 1hour from Portland, Freeport and Bar Harbor. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Nice Quiet Getaway

Myself, Husband and our best friends recently stayed at this property. The pictures online do not do this property justice. This home is beautiful and in such a nice quiet location, surrounded by wide open fields. The drive into Newport was quick and easy. We even found a great Chinese Take out Place in Unity which was only 6 miles away. We did some scouting around and found there to be near by ITS Trails, we hope to book again in the near future and do some riding. The Check in was simple, and the owners was just a phone call away if we needed them. We definitely will book again. Thank you Don for the quiet getaway that we all needed. Weekend in Maine

We thoroughly enjoyed connecting with our college-age daughter for a few days. The house in Troy was clean and very comfortable for the four of us. We used the kitchen, finished a puzzle we found in the living room, and appreciated the detailed instructions and bottle of wine provided by the owners.
