Spacious, with Difficult Communication & Poor Maintenance
We had three generations of family and the house accommodated us quite well. Shopping for everything is close and the neighborhood is up-scale and quiet. Lots of nice outside features, e.g., bar-b-q, fish pond, fire pit, deck, etc., although they are somewhat neglected. Plenty of outside driveway parking. We enjoyed the air hockey and ping pong table.
Communication with owner and VRBO seemed to be only in the middle of the night. Are they overseas? Very untrusting, all communication through VRBO website, no phone contact or entry info provided. Very guarded and arm's length process. Local rep showed up and gave us some info and the keys. Fortunately, I had found the address on Google Street View. Don't expect a courtesy early check-in. It had been empty for several days, but they charged $250 for a six-hour-early check-in.
House is quite nice with large rooms. Kitchen was fairly well equipped. Obviously, this used to be a well-cared-for house with nice features. Many furnishings are what I call VRBO-disposable, e.g., cheap table lamps with low-watt bulbs, tube bar stools unstable with screws missing, iron platform beds with low-quality bedding, sparse bedroom furnishings, etc. Maybe thievery leaves no choice, too bad.
