Moose Head Lodge is an ultra-comfortable mountain log cabin retreat resting on the bank of the Wenatchee River in the Leavenworth community of Ponderosa Estates.

This hand-hewn log home earns a 10 out of 10 for quality craftsmanship, enduring design, and prime riverfront location. This property has one of the best low bank riverfront settings in the entire Plain Valley. The private park-like oasis includes a stone staircase down to the sandy beach, a 6-person hot tub perched just above the water's edge.

Without a doubt, many wonderful memories can be made at this one-of-a-kind riverfront retreat. This home sleeps 6, with its main floor bedroom with queen log bed and two upstairs bedrooms one with queen and the other with a set of bunk beds and twin bed.

The bathroom on the main floor has a tub/shower combination and includes a washer and dryer for guest use. The second bathroom is located in an out building with private shower. The main living space invites you to gather round the gorgeous river rock propane fireplace that is adorned by its namesake “The Moosehead” and includes a smart TV for streaming on the local

Please be prepared along with your guests who are driving separate for this driveway during winter months as there is a steep/slope grade and when ice/snow are on the ground a 4WD/AWD vehicle with traction tires are necessary AND carrying chains is recommended. No exceptions

While we do our best to keep this driveway plowed and sanded, winter conditions can change rapidly and make both access to and from this driveway challenging and we cannot guarantee its condition upon your arrival at any time. We are subject to the subcontractor and the Chelan County plows who service this driveway and our county roads so please pack your patience along with following the recommendations below if you choose to book.

Beautiful riverfront getaway!

Beautiful setting on the Wenatchee River. Moose Lodge has rustic appeal inside and out. Nice large hot tub and cool outdoor seating area- ideal for star gazing. Pet friendly which is great!

Amazing getaway perfect to reconnect

Absolutely beautiful property in a picturesque location. It was a great place to reconnect with the family and nature. Listening to the river was absolute bliss. This property has everything you need.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Moosehead Lodge is a comfortable home on the Wenatchee River in Plain Wa. We enjoyed our stay but spend a considerable amount of time cleaning the place our first evening there. We've stayed in other Cabins in Mazama, Winthrop, Lake Wenatchee and Fish Lake and had better experiences and cleaner accommodations. Note, this is a pet friendly home which we may have overlooked when booking.

Beautiful Cabin on the water- So Cozy

I give this place very high marks except that the listing needs to be updated. We were expecting 4 bedrooms and 1.75 bath as the listing states on VRBO. We arrived and we’re not given access to the bunk house which is one queen bed and the .75 bath. We ended up getting agreement but I just hate to spend this kind of money and to arrive having to argue about what was offered in the VRBO AD and listing. Beyond this, the place is really fantastic and beautiful. I wish I could stay a week to unwind and not have had to worry about accommodating my friends as I promised them that joined us. Thank You

Beautiful location but had some issues

1- When we arrived both of our cars slid down the driveway. Our two cars almost hit each other. One car is AWD and the other is 4WD. I understand nothing helps on ice. I would think that the driveway would be made as accessible as possible knowing guests are arriving. 2- The number of cobwebs everywhere was a bit concerning. Since this is a VRBO and a large cleaning fee is charged. I would assume that it would be cleaner. 3- Something is wrong with the TV. We thought it was the remote. I tried to find batteries and found a couple loose ones in a drawer. But that didn't help anything. We ended up just unplugging the tv and then it would work. 4- When anyone is moving upstairs it makes it very hard for anyone in the downstairs room to get any sleep. The flooring makes so much noise. 5- The mattresses didn't seem to be very good quality. Or maybe just old. Not sure. The view is beautiful and everything else was good.

Communication was fantastic. Ease of check in and cleanliness of property was also fantastic. We had a wonderful 3 night stay. Enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and the peacefulness of the river.

Beautiful, peaceful, home and area.

The home is very cozy and perfectly positioned on the River. The views are beautiful and the serenity of the neighborhood makes a relaxing experience. We enjoyed our time relaxing at the cabin and taking trips into Leavenworth.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

My family of four (two adults, two kids - ages 11 & 8) had a wonderful weekend! The cabin is the perfect size, layout, with plenty of parking (although we had one car), and all of the extras you could need. The view of the river is just beautiful from the main living space and we enjoyed reading quietly as a family in front of the fireplace. A note for families with children: The river was moving swiftly, so we were diligent about our kids staying safe when near the water’s edge … life jackets are a must! We’ll definitely visit again!

Snowy wonderland

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely time at the Moosehead Lodge for a snowy weekend over Presidents weekend. It is definitely a cabin with some quirks. The bedrooms are really dark, bring your book light for reading in bed! The smart tv is pretty outdated, but if you use the internet on your own iPad or computer you can stream shows in the main house or guest house easily. The mother-in-law cottage is super cute, but the shower is so small it's basically unusable so plan for everyone to shower in the main house. The hot tub on the river was lovely, and we even sled in the driveway, it was perfectly steep!

Gorgeous high ceilings, amazing view, and the sound of the river rushing while you're next to the fire or in the hot tub. What more can you ask for? This was the perfect winter stay for my family and I. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood with super kind neighbors. We loved the open concept and decor, too. The property was very clean. If you don't have AWD or traction tires, or chains, I advise not parking at the very bottom of the driveway during the winter as it does get super icy and you can get stuck! The cabin is accurately half an hour away from Leavenworth, but the drive doesn't feel nearly that long because it's super picturesque! The small guest house on-site, next door, was the perfect accommodation for my parents to stay in. It allowed for us to stay up late while they turned in early. Ha! All in all, we absolutely loved this cabin and we will be sharing it with our friends & family.

All bedrooms are on second floor and the bathroom is on the main floor. We were not aware that the guest house has to be booked, we thought it came with it. anyway, the house is beautiful, but we couldn't enjoy it too much because of the layout.

Amazing home and location!

The pictures do not do this place justice! We absolutely loved our weekend staying here. The house is right on the river and we loved having the firepit and hot tub to enjoy during the fall months. We had plenty of space in the house and it was very clean when we arrived. The location is also very close to drive into Plain or Leavenworth if you needed anything. Will hopefully be back again soon!

Good all around stay

Reviewer Comments: The location is about 25min at best from leavenworth, but if you want to get away from it all it is worth the drive. Cabin itself its awesome, there are knicknacks everywhere which is a little overwhelming along with the obnoxious amount of taxedermy. Also we did not think there were many dishes until our last day when we went to load the dishwasher found other dishes that had not been put away from the last visit, the same thing happened with the laundry, laundry was left in the dryer. I don't think most people go on vacation to do either of those chores. Other than that the cabin itself great, hot tub was awesome, this is our second stay it did not work the first year, so was great to get to use it this time around. Would recommend to others, due to the drive will probably choose something closer to town in the future however. Thanks for the great stay!

I emailed the management company and they responded quickly. I hope this cabin gets the deep cleaning that it needs, because it really could be quite the place!!!
