Om boendet

Lorondale Homestead

Lorondale Homestead has been held in the same farming family since being built in 1904. This large rustic farm house sits in the middle of the farm with its nearest neighbour being over a kilometre away.

The homestead boasts large bedrooms and spacious living areas and comfortably sleeps 4 couples with maximum beds for 11. Some of the bedding configurations can be changed to suit your preference and pets are allowed by negotiation.

There are two large living rooms, one of which is set up as a dining room with seating for 12 and the other as a lounge room with couches and a sunny window seat. There is also a cosy library/sitting room with a wide selection of books to read and some of the family and farming history available.

Situated between the popular wine regions of Clare and Barossa Valley, and only an hour from Adelaide, the homestead is secluded enough for a relaxing stay and close enough for day visits to wineries or cycling trips.

Full bedding, linen, towels, bath mats and tea towels are provided for your stay.

Beautiful, large and comfortable house in a lovely rural setting for two families. The beds were super comfy and there was lots of room for everyone. We had a wonderful time here sitting around the campfire and exploring the local area.

Lovely comfortable farmhouse

We really enjoyed staying here for a peaceful long weekend over Easter. The house was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed and plenty of room for three families and kids. The kids loved playing table tennis and games on the Wii as well as board games and puzzles on the big dining tables. The location was great, beautiful bush scenery and only an hour drive up from Adelaide. We enjoyed exploring nearby Kapunda which has lots of interesting local history and cute little cafes and craft shops. Thanks so much for having us!

Family get away

We stayed with our parents, siblings and children for an extended family weekend away. The house was great. Very spacious, comfortable and clean with a lovely fireplace. Set in a quiet area with easy access to the Clare Valley and Barossa Valley. A lovely place to get away from it all.

Great option for a big group

Great house, large and slightly quirky layout, and everything we could need. The kids loved the books, noodling on the pianos (yes plural😀) and we played a lot of ping pong. Then only downsides were slight difficulty in finding the house and less roaming space on the property than we expected. Still recommend unreservedly though!

Great Family Gathering in Cosy Homestead

Our family of 5 spent a week at Lorondale enjoying the cosy relaxing feeling of the homestead, its peaceful secluded location and its facilities ( combustion fire place, outside fire pit, table tennis). It is a great location to explore the Clare Valley and Barossa Valley from and to return to in the evening. Diana was a great host with little extras supplied to enhance our stay. Thanks

Wonderful property!

Our short stay at Lorondale homestead will hopefully not be the last. The home is fabulous and the location is so peaceful! Lots of bird-life and plenty of fresh air. Highly recommend a stay in this little piece of Australia.

Rural wine & food retreat with friends & family

Great central location to Clare Valley & Barossa Valley to move between and explore the food and winery options. Felt great at the end of the day to relax on the verandah looking over the fields with a glass of wine and platter of local goodies.

A lovely stay in the countryside

We really enjoyed the history of the old farmhouse, the warm fireplace kept us cozy during the cold nights. It was nice to wake up to views of the surrounding fields.
