The cabin was even more magical and beautiful than we could have hoped for. The photos on the listing truly do not do it justice! The property is so well taken care of and the amenities and complimentary gifts were so thoughtful. We will absolutely be coming back one day!

A little uncertain about the gravel drives into the property, but once there it was amazing. The house was complete with any and everything you would need to stay there. Even stocked with items like coffee, creamers and other goodies to help with the stay. Host responses to questions answered very quickly helping making the planning for arrival easier. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get away and enjoy some quiet countryside in Southwest Virginia along the New River.

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house was beautiful, and everything was exactly as described in the listing. We really enjoyed our time there and had a great experience overall.The one thing we hadn’t fully realized from the listing was how steep the property is between the house and the dock/water. The house sits fairly high up on a hill, so getting down to the water involves a number of stairs and a fairly steep walk. It was completely manageable for our group, and once we knew what to expect, we were able to plan our time on the water accordingly. It’s just something future guests may want to keep in mind, particularly if anyone in the group has mobility concerns.Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed the property!

So glad you enjoyed your stay and that the cottage met your expectations. Yes the cottage does sit on a bluff over the lake and can be accessed by steps as well as driving down to the lake with an AWD vehicle for ones with mobility issues.

Great house! Everything was clean and as described. The multiple gift baskets were a wonderful touch! Six kayaks and the multiple paddleboards were enjoyed. The volleyball court (ball included) was great family fun.

VT Graduation weekend

This home was so well equipped with everything and anything you would need!Any other home we rent will be compared to this one! Communication with the host was outstanding! Needs of all ages were met. Appreciated coffee and snacks. Awesome stay!

Avonlea is among the finest properties we have ever rented

Management was on top of all our questions, property was gorgeous, immaculate, and had all the extras that are not required, but made the stay so much better. We look forward to the next time.

Perfect Retreat

The owner of this property clearly understands how to make you feel at home with family. This home can easily sleep extended family and friends too, and in every room there was thoughtful treats, bottles of water, etc. With all the amenities, there is something to enjoy by everyone. Easy for memories to be had here and we can’t wait to return.

Wonderful oasis!

We had a wonderful time at Avonlea! It is a beautiful and spacious Lake House with breath taking views! There were welcome baskets in every room which was a nice suppose. The kitchen was well stocked and provided everything we needed for a home cooked meal.

We had a wonderful time at this “cabin.” The outdoor space is just unbelievable- so much space to spread out and enjoy sun or shade. The host has thought of so many extras… And special welcome baskets were a nice touch! Beds were very comfy, and the bathrooms were spotless. It was helpful to have a truck to load up and drive down to the river… It was a very difficult walk for the average person. The host was very kind and easy to communicate with.We had young children through elderly in our group and there was something for everyone!Would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely amazing!

I cannot even begin to express how incredible this property is. From the beautiful views of the lake to the snacks in every room! Our guests loved that there were items there to make s’mores also! This truly was home away from home and fit everyone comfortably! Would stay here over and over again! Thank you thank you!

Truly amazing

We had a graduation party/family reunion here. The property blew everyone away. The house was so clean and beautiful, the view is amazing. The thoughtful touches throughout the house and property made our stay even more special. They had everything we needed to have a wonderful time. We’d love to come back.
