I am so glad you enjoyed the home. There is a wifi repeater in the master bedroom so you need to connect to that network to get faster speed. The instructions for that are all in the manual. Also, the cleaner said the child lock must have been inadvertently pressed on the dishwasher. Once she deactivated it, the dishwasher worked perfectly. The Roku tv offers many channels and apps to watch shows and movies but it might take a little bit to get used to if this is your first time using. We look forward to welcoming you back next year!

We had such a positive experience with this guest 3 years ago and I am at a loss as to why it was so different this time. I pride myself in being very responsive to guests and addressing any issues right away. He told me after a long drive to Sarasota, his kids were disappointed that it was raining so much that they could not go to the beach. Maybe that affected his stay. He contacted me a day after he arrived that he saw a baby roach in the kitchen. I offered to have the exterminator come right out but he told me he did not want them to come during their stay. No other guest mentioned any bugs inside nor did the cleaner see any when she was there before they arrived. Sarasota is in the tropics and when it rains a lot in summer, bugs can come in when the doors are left open. We regularly have it sprayed for insects. Unfortunately, the tv stopped working while he was there. The cleaner had verified it was in perfect working condition before they arrived. The manufacturer had to replace the motherboard under warranty and the part did not come in during their stay. Hatem said he moved the 46 inch tv from the bedroom to replace the 58 inch tv that was not working. I offered him compensation for the inconvenience. He made multiple complaints that turned out not to be true when my manager came to address them. He said there was no laundry detergent and she saw that he had dumped out the 10 laundry pods on top of the washer. He said the coffee pot was not working so she brought him a new one and he never opened it. Turns out the original coffee maker was working. He said the weber grill was leaking gas. The burners were inspected and there were no leaks. Of course, you can smell gas if you turn on the gas without lighting it. The flavorizer bars were a little rusty and have been replaced. On the dishwasher, because of its design, you need to be careful not to pull out the bottom rack too far. When he left, he did not follow the check out procedures and left all the patio cushions out in the rain so that they were soaked when the cleaner arrived. He also did not lock the front door. We are so fortunate to have so many wonderful and responsible guests but he was not one of them.

We have a policy of not renting to younger than 25 because we want to be respectful to our neighbors and want to keep the home in tip top shape. Amos called after booking asking us to make an exception to this policy stating that they were Amish guys who would take good care of the place. I was very reluctant but he promised multiple times that there would be no parties or smoking. On their second night I received a call from the neighbor that there was loud noise coming from our house and he could not sleep. Turns out Amos and his Amish guys were throwing an axe at a target in the tree. I texted him during his stay reminding him to take out the trash. He said he would. When they left, there were over 15 bags of trash and lots of boxes of Amazon purchases. There were all kinds of liquor bottles and beer cans and cigarette butts in the bushes. He said that he had taken out the trash both times but the trash was never picked up. We find this hard to believe because this has never happened before. Also, another neighbor complained about a party they had the night before they left. He lived a half a block away and it was so loud that he thought it was his next door neighbor having a party. At 11pm he walked his dog by the house and the front door was open with guys drinking on the front porch and loud music and people dancing inside. I asked him to pay $100 for the extra cleaning costs. He first denied everything but then said the guys had a party when he was "away." He did agree to pay. A month went by and he never paid. I wrote my review and then he gave me a 1 star review. The day before he left he texted me, "We did have a great time, you have a great place here."
