This is a great house, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and was just what we wanted (a quiet week, with no deadlines or schedules.) We expected rainy weather, but were very lucky and enjoyed a beautiful week of sunny skies and mild temperatures. Plenty of nearby sightseeing (Cliffs of Moher, the Doolin Cave, the Burren, etc) if desired, but watching the surf crash on the rocks as the sun sets behind the Aran Islands, with a glass of good whiskey...that was grand! Fanore is small, with one pub, one cafe (coffee, tea, sandwiches, pastries), and one very small shop (bacon, eggs, and, thank goodness, wine), but all those enterprises are an easy walk from Stone House, and everyone at all three spots was very accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend this house.
