The Space:

Nestled beautifully into the surroundings overlooking Kaiauai Stream, Serenity Lodge welcomes you. This stunningly imposing natural holiday house with powerful river views is the perfect getaway to achieve tranquility. Situated in Egmont Village, only a ten-minute drive from New Plymouth, and just a 10-minute drive to Egmont National Park, where you can take in the majestic Mt Taranaki. The NPL Mountain Bikers club at Lake Mangamhoe is just a few minutes away, allowing you to ride your bike there and enjoy some of the greatest mountain bike rides in Taranaki.

Home well presented, clean and inviting. Firewood ready to go and lots of other nice touches. We enjoyed the two living spaces and lots of area to relax. A very special location with the stream at the bottom of the lawn. This is our 5th year of booking places for our annual friends catch up and the best yet.

Even better than expected

Amazing property, from the outlook over a stream to the views of Mt Taranaki. Property was very clean, well equipt, peaceful and only 10 mins drive to the centre of town. Would have loved to stay longer!

Lived up to it's name.

Serenity Lodge lived up to its name and gave our three generational family a holiday we all treasured. Yes, it was immaculate, large and provided thoroughly modern kitchen, bathrooms and many other amenities. However, some of our fondest memories involved deck time with grandchildren while they shared their adventures, taking in the view of the mountain and making the most of the beautiful stream at the bottom of the property. This was definitely the ‘babbling brook’ to lull you to sleep, provide boulders for children to clamber over, a small swimming space and a selection of rocks which on examination illustrated the volcanic nature of the New Plymouth area. A beautiful property.

Lovely with the sound of rolling water from the little river and lovely views of the mountain. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. The only down side was the lack of serving dishes (one) as we ate at home every night. There were a few platters though. Also the beds were very small. I’d obviously forgotten just how small a queen bed is. A shame as there was plenty of room for bigger beds. It does say Queen though, so I guess I shouldn’t moan. Overall amazing place though.

Tranquil luxury

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful tranquil spot with the soothing sounds of the river on one side and the majestic mountain on the other. The house has loads of space. We were three couples and had plenty of room to spare. Decks on two sides meant we could dine alfresco for every meal. The well-equipped kitchen is a great hub of the home and has everything you need to prepare a feast. Lovely bathrooms with great showers! Nice to have the option of a fire as well as heat pumps. It’s a warm home though so you don’t need them much. Overall has a lovely inviting family home feel. We would definitely stay here again. Absolutely recommend a visit to the Manutahi Museum down the road. The people at BachCare were friendly and attentive but the automated booking system needs some serious work. I would recommend just ringing them direct.
