The Grand Street Chalet by Mountain Vacation Lodging is a charming home with a prime location that has been nicely updated. It has 4 large bedrooms, multiple living rooms, and a large yard. Located in "Old Town" Steamboat Springs, this home is a short, flat walk of just a few blocks from Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat's main street. Please note, thought this home provides convenient access to downtown and everything the area has to offer, it is located in a quiet residential area. We seek only mature guests who will be respectful of the home and its neighbors. Also, this home has city imposed parking limitation of 2 vehicles. Any additional vehicles will need to be parked offsite. Offsite parking options are available. Contact us for additional information.

The Property:
This single family home is an older home that has been updated in critical places. All of the bathrooms were fully renovated in 2021, and new kitchen appliances were added as well. The main level of the home includes 3 living room areas, the kitchen, dining room, a full bathroom, and a foyer. Of course it also has access to the outdoor spaces, which includes a covered patio with grill, a very large front yard, and a small fenced back yard. Upstairs you will find all 4 bedrooms, the laundry room, and another bathroom.

The ground floor of the home has a good flow. The kitchen connects the foyer and game room to the dining room and den. The game room is open to the main living room. From the main living room, you can walk past the bathroom and stairs into the den. There are also 3 different doors providing you with access to the outdoor spaces. The front yard is quite a good size, and flat. It's a great place for yard games or building a snowman. In the main living room, a new sofa, matching loveseat, and armchair were added in January 2025. With seating for six, a wood burning fireplace and large Smart TV, this is a great place to relax with your friends and family. The game room includes an assortment of video games to enjoy, as well as a foosball table. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including lots of storage space in the cabinets. It has direct access to the covered patio and the gas grill for those who like to BBQ. It also has a handy pass through to the dining room, making meal service and clean up easy. The dining room has seating for 6 to 8 with bar seating for 4 more. The den is and dining room are one larger space, like the main living room and game room. The den has another leather sofa and armchair surrounding a gas fireplace. It's a great place to relax with a book, laptop, or your other mobile entertainment devices. The den also provides direct access to the fenced back yard.

At the top of the stairs is a landing which provides access to all 4 bedrooms and the laundry room. Bedroom 1 is quite large, with more than enough space for the King sized bed set and a seating or dressing area. Bedroom 2 is also quite large. Again it has a King sized bed set with space to spare. It also includes an HDTV and lots of floor space. Both of these first two bedrooms would have plenty of space for a crib or pac n play. Bedroom 3 is another large room ideal for couples. It features a Queen sized bed and an office area. The desk can be raised if you prefer to stand and includes a monitor to help make your work more efficient. Bedroom 4 is last but not least. In fact it might be as big as bedrooms 1 and 2, just with a different shape. It has 2 Twin beds plus 1 Double bed, making it ideal for kids or singles.

Location:
Old Town Steamboat Springs is the place to be. It's the original part of town that was founded back in the 1800s. Old Town is where you'll find the vast majority of shopping, restaurants, nightlife, activities, and events. Beyond all the shopping and dining, some of the more notable Old Town attractions within walking distance include Stehley Park, the Butcherknife Canyon Trail, the Yampa River and Yampa River Core Trail, the rodeo grounds, the ice rink, the Old Town Hot Springs, and don't miss out on Howelsen Hill, Steamboat's city owned downhill and nordic ski resort and park. If you're a biker, from this home you can ride right up Emerald Mountain or right up Buffalo Pass. There are literally hundreds of miles of trails right out your door. Of course many people visit Steamboat Springs to go skiing or riding at the big mountain, the Steamboat Ski Resort. The mountain base is only 3.5 miles away. Driving there is easy and parking is free, but if you're anything like a Steamboat local, you won't drive and park. You'll find that taking one of Steamboat's frequent free buses is the way to go. Those free buses pick up on Lincoln Avenue and come by about every 10 minutes. The walk to Lincoln Avenue's 5th street bus stop is pretty easy and pretty flat. It's just 1/3 of a mile along Short Street and you're there.

** Please note - Old Town is such a great place to be, the houses are built pretty close together, and lots of us locals call it home. This vacation rental is surrounded by good people, good neighbors, and if you plan to be a good neighbor too, you'll love this location! However, if your group includes members who might be loud, disrespectful, or negligent, this is not the property for you.

Arrival, Access, and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you. We offer professional concierge services, provide you with arrival instructions, and are here to answer any specific questions you might have. Accessing this property does not require any steps. The dining room and den are two steps up from the entry level, and all bedrooms are on the upper level. The parking is all outdoor, uncovered, off the street and in front of the garage / entry area. There is space for 4 vehicles to park side by side, in this off street parking area. Parking on the street itself is prohibited, and trailers are not allowed. If you will have more than 4 vehicles or a trailer, please contact us to discuss before booking.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Pets & Fees - “Pet Friendly” means Dog Friendly only. If a property is pet friendly, then a per pet, per night fee will apply. Some online booking sites, such as VRBO, do not allow us to list the maximum number of pets per property. If you are renting a pet friendly property, and will have more than one dog, please reach out prior to booking to verify if the home will allow more than one dog. ** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. Need a no-frills but comfortable family base in Steamboat?

Clean, sufficiently equipped, affordable accommodations in downtown Steamboat. Walk to downtown and the Yampa, minutes to the ski area. Funky interior that takes you back to your 80's Grandma's house, or perhaps a bit of Napoleon Dynamite chic. Fantastic TV with all of the steams, and comes with an X-Box if you absolutely get skunked on outdoor activities...but it's Steamboat so you'll be outside most of the time. Very attentive property management who genuinely care about your experience.
