Sit on the front porch, turn the fans on and watch the deer roam the neighborhood. Of course, you can catch a view of the lake which sits across the street. Grab some worms from the catalba trees and head to your own dock with cleaning station and your own kayaks. Walk the property and enjoy the beauty the area offers. If you're ready to grab a bite head on back to the large deck attached to the rear of the home. You'll notice the gas grill is attached to a large tank so you don't run out of gas in the middle of a meal. We also installed a bright light at the grill for those cooking at night.

Inside Hilltop boast 3 roomy bedrooms with generous closet space. Each room has a work station or desk area. All the counters are granite, floors are laminate and shower/tub are tiled. There is ample lighting and accent lighting in the kitchen area. You have your own laundry room with washer and dryer. You won't feel crowded in this home that sleeps up to 6 people.

Fabulous getaway

This property was just perfect for our long weekend. Secluded and quiet. This home and the others of Vacation Country Rental are all so well maintained! Comfy beds, roomy bathrooms, and plenty of extra space for our group of 8. Great vacation! Thank you, Brenda & Mark!

Cabana on Houston County Lake

Our family is from the Crockett area and we have been coming for many years for a few days to visit family/friends and enjoy some down time on the water. We live in the suburbs of Houston. We have never stayed at a Copus property and not been 100% satisfied. The views are stunning, the homes are well kept and we love our little hidden gem! We have stayed a couple of the properties and the Cabana has been our favorite so far. We look forward to this trip every year and our twins came for the first time when they were just babies and now they are 15! Our oldest is now 19! You cannot go wrong with any of the properties.

Outstanding getaway

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend getaway to meet up with family and that is exactly what we got! This home was exceptionally maintained and had the most beautiful deck from which to enjoy the fantastic lake view. There were 7 family members in our group and we had more than enough room for all. The only downfall was that we had to leave! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Brenda and I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Texas back in 1978. We lived in Spring outside of Houston where we raised about half of our 5 kids. When Spring became Houston I couldn't take the urban sprawl and wanted to pull the plug.
We decided on Houston County Lake outside of Crockett because of the terrain and plentiful trees and wildlife.
It reminded us very much of New England.

We raised the last of our kids and they attended a small school in Latexo, a town of 200 or so just east of the lake.
The last child is now going through college and we have been fortunate to see the first 4 graduate U.T. Austin...with the 5th to follow.
As corny as it may sound, a very large part of the reason we pursued the vacation rental business is the enjoyment we get from watching and hearing about families re-bonding and kids catching their first or biggest fish.
It's a very rewarding business.

Lakeside sets adjacent to Pats Place (sleeps 19) with Henry's Hideaway (sleeps 10) directly across the street. One house away lies Awesome View, a water front home that sleeps 7. A short 3 minute walk we find "The Gregory" which sleeps 7 people and is off the lake.
