Ford House is a cozy, rustic oceanfront home on a wooded hillside, with a deck that juts out like the prow of a ship overlooking the sea and the sandy beach south of Waldport. Even from the paneled living room, with its comfy seating, wood fireplace and TV/DVD/VCR, you can hear the continuous roar of the surf. The dining area and compact kitchen work well for quick meals; you may want to rely on the many wonderful restaurants in Waldport and Yachats for more elaborate dining (Waldportâs delicious Hilltop Bistro is close by). Three bedrooms and one bath make it easy to invite friends or family to join you. A wooded pathway to the beach runs down a ravine right next to Ford House, so youâre minutes away from the sand; if you prefer a less challenging access, a State Recreation Site is three minutes away by car.
