Detta Àr vÄrt hem i Brasilien dÀr vi kommer undan de kalla och vÄta vintrarna i U. S. Vi har nyligen köpt den hÀr lÀgenheten och totalrenoverat och möblerat den med alla nya möbler och apparater. Vi ockuperade det för första gÄngen i november 2016. SÄ om du letar efter en mycket bekvÀm hemmiljö som upprÀtthÄlls till mycket höga standarder för underhÄll och renlighet, belÀgen i den allra bÀsta delen av Boa Viagem Beach, Àr detta lÀgenheten för dig. Den 1300 kvadratmeter / 120 kvadratmeter bostadsyta ger god komfort.
Den mest attraktiva funktionen i lÀgenheten Àr vardagsrumsverandan. Vi tog bort verandadörren och en del av vÀggen, vilket gjorde verandan till en del av vardagsrummet. För att maximera ljuset och havsutsikten, hade vi dragspelfönster (janelas cortinas) installerade som, nÀr de dras tillbaka, föra utomhus in. Sedan höjde vi verandagolvet 26 cm, vilket ger en underbar utsikt över stranden genom det 12 fot breda fönstret. Med de stora fönstren kan du njuta av de svalna, milda vindarna frÄn de stÀndigt nÀrvarande handelsvindarna.
LÀgenheten ligger pÄ 10: e vÄningen i hyreshuset och ger en utmÀrkt utsikt över stranden frÄn vardagsrummet och tvÄ av sovrummen. Stranden ligger bokstavligen tvÀrs över gatan frÄn hyreshuset. Vattnet Àr varmt Äret runt, och vid lÄgvatten ger skyddande korallrev en sÀker simning vid denna del av stranden .. Det finns 4. 54 miles av breda trottoarer och dedikerade cykelvÀgar lÀngs Boa Viagem Beach. Joggare och vandrare ses pÄ alla timmar pÄ dagen och tidigt pÄ kvÀllen och fÄr i sina dagliga trÀningspass. Det finns flera trÀningsstationer lÀngs Avenida som Àr tillgÀngliga för allmÀn anvÀndning utan kostnad. Det finns ocksÄ tennisbanor, fotbollsplaner, basket- och volleybollplaner och en skatepark. Det finns cykeluthyrningsstationer lÀngs Avenida, samt flera mycket trevliga lekplatser för barn. Alla dessa saker ligger bara 10-20 minuters promenad frÄn vÄr lÀgenhet.
Inom gÄngavstÄnd finns mÄnga restauranger, stormarknader, bagerier, banker, apotek, hotell och mycket mer. Bairro (grannskapet) i Boa Viagem Àr den mest exklusiva delen av Recife, kÀnd för sina kvalitetsrestauranger, populÀra nattklubbar och stora köpcentrum.
Boa Viagem Àr helt klart den mest eftertraktade stadsdelen i staden. VÄr lÀgenhet ligger i den bÀsta delen av stranden för sÀker simning och nÀrhet till restauranger etc.

Bob and Dalva Crites Àr vÀrd
Bob grew up in a small town near Eugene, Oregon, USA. Dalva, his wife, was born and raised in Recife, Brazil, where she has a large extended family. Attracted to adventure and foreign lands, Bob first came to know Brazil as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Later, he served as an Associate Peace Corps Director in Guatemala. His love of people led him to a career in school counseling, during which time he founded a small nonprofit organization that provided academic scholarships to impoverished Brazilian and Tanzania children.
He has degrees from the University of Washington and the University of Oregon. For 16 years he was a member of the Metropolitan Rotary Club of Eugene, Oregon.
He published a memoir in 2021 - "No Ghosts in the Graveyard, The Lifetime Adventures of a Small-Town Oregon Boy", by Bob Crites. It is available on amazon.com in ebook and print versions.
Dalva is a living encyclopedia of Brazilian music and northeast Brazilian culture. She is renowned among family and friends for her delicious, traditional regional cuisine. As a quintessential northeasterner, she is passionate about her northeastern culture and its traditions. To know Dalva is to love her. She is an unofficial Brazilian ambassador par excellence. Interestingly, she is a citizen of Brazil, Italy (her grandfather immigrated to Brazil), and the United States. She thinks that three passports are enough. In retirement, Bob and Dalva split their time between living in Eugene, Oregon, and Recife, Brazil.

Avenida Boa Viagem is the most prestigious address in Recife. This is because the avenue runs the length of Boa Viagem Beach, which is the most beautiful beach in Recife; and the city government maintains the sidewalks and bike/jogging paths in excellent condition. The beach itself is kept very clean.
The apartment attracted us because of the size of its living space and the fact that the apartment throughout is well lit and well ventilated by the cooling ocean breezes. It is located on the 10th floor with a good view of the ocean.
An important feature to us was the close proximity to restaurants, bars, pharmacies, bakeries, supermarkets and other businesses and services, including a hospital.

"We spent nearly a month at the beachfront VRBO property owned by Bob and Dalva, and it continually surpassed our expectations. The owners seem to have thought of everything. For example, they have raised the main living space that looks out over the ocean higher to allow for spectacular views when seated. The kitchen connects to the main living space--another nice touch. The main room was well-ventilated without AC (even in the summer month we were there) and the bedroom AC worked wonderfully. All the appliances and internet worked extremely well.
We found the location to be ideal for our needs. The stretch of beach that is in front of the apartment building is really ideal for kids to swim and for adults to run, walk or socialize. The owners are responsive to all details. In short, we can't imagine a better place for a couple or family who want to spend time in Recife / Boa Viagem!"
