Classic Kiwi Bach at Otaki Beach. Pet and Family Friendly!
Our original Health camp road farm house is warm and cosy and just a short walk to Otaki beach.
The house features a fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 toilets and two living areas.
The kitchen is well equipped with all your basic appliances including an electric jug/kettle, toaster, rice cooker and stick wizz. It also has a freestanding oven, a dishwasher and large fridge freezer. We also have a children's high chair available. There is a seperate laundry which you are welcome to use.
The house has 2x queen beds, a bunk bed and a cot, plus an additional portacot and fold out sofa bed in the conservatory.
Accommodating up to 6 people plus 2 infants.
Please note the bathroom in this house is small so keep this in mind when booking for a large group. However there are two toilets.
Relax in the sunny lounge / conservatory with a book, while the children enjoy our selection of games and toys. Or soak up the sun out on the lawn where we have an outdoor table and chairs ready for you to relax. The outdoor area is family and pet friendly and is fully fenced. There is also a playground a couple of hundred metres away around the corner and Otaki beach store where you can pick up some fish and chips or enjoy an ice cream on your walk home from the beach.
With our full office set up you can work from home (but at the beach). Making this the perfect work life balance getaway
Pets Policy:
The property is fully fenced.
We know how important it can be to have your pet join you on holiday. It's just not the same without them. We are happy to accept pets with prior approval. There is a pet fee of $30.
Please let us know when you book if you plan on bringing a pet or you maybe refused at check in.
There are spare dog bowls, pet towels, one medium dog bed and a bucket in the laundry for your pets use. Please do not use the kitchen crockery for your pets.
Please keep pets off the beds and furniture. Thank you
Smoking Policy:
Smoking is allowed OUTSIDE only, please dispose of your butts sensibly in the Paua shells. Please do not smoke in the house. If it is found that you have been smoking an extra cleaning fee will be added to your booking.
We are sustainability focused and offer a 4 way waste system. Including a compost bin, Recycling, soft plastics and rubbish. Plus sort your rubbish as best you can as we don't pay for wheelie bin pick up due to not always being able to put it out every fortnight. The bins are located behind the white gate beside the garage.

We are a young family that work hard and we want to share our special piece of beach paradise with others. We are lucky enough to have been able to keep this house and buy another home and this is now our nest egg and holiday house. We also have a granny flat we airbnb out at Raumati Beach which sleeps 3.
Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
The Health Camp Homestead was the original farm house on the farm land surrounding the Children's Health Camp in the 1930s-1940s. You will notice it's unique position and the front door being at the side of the house because the very long driveway used to come off Tasmen Road. The house has been modernised over the years and is now a super warm and cosy family beach house/bach that we want to share with others.
Vad som gör detta boende unikt
We love the location of our property. It's a couple of hundred metres from the playground, 7 min walk to the beach and a few minutes walk to the old closed down Health camp, where you can walk the dog or cut across the property to explore the forest. Beyond the Health Camp is a beautiful redwood forest with easy waking tracks and a rope swing. We are also not too far from the river.
