Very nice place for a family to take a break. Beautiful deck very close to beach. Check in was easy owner answered our question promptly. I highly recommend this family friendly place.

This was a great place! The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. It was a perfect location for biking on the Heartland and Paul Bunyan trails. It was nice to relax outside on the deck, and you couldn't ask for a better sunset view! Definitely one of the best places we've stayed at!

Family had a great time. We were pleased that the sleeping space in the basement has been upgraded from a trundell bed to a bunk bed. Deck was perfect with two tables with umbrellas. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of towels for showers. One of the beds upstairs is quite high and was not easy to use for our shorter/elderly folks. We did have to bring in our own air purifier as the basement had a bit of a musty smell as the dehumidifier had not been turned on. Game room area was a hit with our younger family members. We are already registered for next year.

Quiet, peaceful getaway

We had a lovely time at the cabin. There are a few small things we would have changed. The place could have used a bit more cleaning (there was dog poop in the front yard, and dog hair under the living room couch that floated out when the ceiling fan was on). The upstairs TV was a little old, so we couldn't use Hulu or Disney plus on it, so there wasn't much to watch. However, the house was large and very accommodating. There were plenty of water toys, and the trail nearby gave us a lot to do with our time. The host was very polite. We had a very fun time and would love to return next year!

Great location on a wonderful lake

We had a marvelous time on a wonderful lake with beautiful views. Great biking to Walker, Nevis and Park Rapids on the bike path that is pretty much out the front door. Lots of sunnies and bass to catch off the dock and wonderful kayaking and floating on the lake.The cabin was perfect for our needs and we highly recommend staying here.

Very Relaxing and Quiet

We live in the Twin Cities, so the quietness and relaxing atmosphere was a wonderful change of pace. The check-in was smooth, the cabin was very clean, and other than the rainy weather was overall a very good experience for the whole family.

Remarkable stay

The cabin had all the amenities we needed, the campfire was stocked, the lake accessories were perfect. We say the Northern lights the first night of our stay and we laid on the dock for two hours to watch them. the location was perfect for the trails. The view from the deck was beautiful and it was so peaceful. We will definitely be back again.

Had a fantastic time, family, friends fishing and just all around a great time. Place was perfect for our needs, had all the amenities and more one could ask. Host went the extra mile to see we had everything we needed. Will be back same time next year

Great stay! Beautiful sunsets!

We had a nice, peaceful stay at the property. It was very clean and well-stocked with short drives to get everything we needed. The couple of issues we had (figuring out the TV upstairs) were handled promptly when we reached out. The host was nothing but nice and helpful. The views from the deck were spectacular and we enjoyed use of the kayaks and paddleboat.I wish we could have rented the pontoon but it was down for engine trouble but we still had a wonderful time. Hope we can get there again next year!

Stunning Sunsets and Great Biking Trails

This location was perfect for us. We brought our bikes and the Heartland was just steps from this location. It was perfect to either go to Walker or Park Rapids. We did end up putting 140 miles on the bikes. The cabin is very homey and had everything we needed. We watched the stunning sunsets every night on the new deck with a drink in hand. If you are looking for a nice place to stay away from home, this is the place to go. It’s a piece of Heaven!

Lakeside property with all the comforts of home!

Our family visited this fantastic property in Akeley for Labor Day weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased with the location and accommodation. There were plenty of comfortable sleeping spaces for the 7 of us. The cabin is obviously well-taken care of, thoughtfully decorated and very clean! We were really impressed and thankful for the many things provided in the home that we either forgot or hadn't even thought of that made our stay more enjoyable! I appreciate the owners require a deposit for pets. While I love pets, we've stayed in other rental units with a pet odor. You won't find that here! This cabin is super clean and fresh, probably the cleanest rental unit we've stayed in! It was well over 90 degrees and the cabin stayed nice and cool. Although they had water toys, we brought some floaties of our own and soaked up the impeccable views on the lake. Crow Wing Lake (#10?) is so gorgeous and the large deck with a grill was a wonderful feature we appreciated so much! We would love to come back! Thank you again!

Peaceful Retreat

We had a perfect week in a cabin that felt like it belonged to a beloved relative. As soon as we arrived and saw our home away from home, we smiled and gave a sigh of appreciation. The rooms were welcoming and ever so clean, the furniture comfortable, beds were just firm enough for us to wake up refreshed, every morning. The kitchen was furnished with more things than we have at home. Wonderful! The newly built deck was a highlight for us! Every night we would watch the sunset over the lake. Breathtaking views of God’s handiwork. The dock was within simple walking steps for us, as senior citizens. We would take the dogs out to the end of the dock and sit on the bench, watching the ducks, geese, and their babies swim past. The water is clear and wading in it was perfectly refreshing. The floor of the lake is soft, but not at all muddy. The property is secluded by trees and the area surrounding the cabin is so quiet that it makes for a peaceful retreat. We will be scheduling another vacation at this lovely place. The owner answered any questions and was very accommodating to every need. We were thankful Joel was such a kind person. Thank you for giving us exactly what we needed!
