You'll enjoy lounging in the private pool, relaxing in the soothing hot tub, playing a round of pool on the table in the recreation room, or shooting air balls in the basketball hoop.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was a little far from beach, enjoy fishing in lake, house had lots of bugs and spiders at front door really couldn't use front door, salt water pool was great. Home filter clogged .. Would be nice to have more accessories for guest. Volleyball court covered in weeds. Yard needed to be mowed. Baseball goal needed a new net, net was torn.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Layout of the house was nice and worked great for our 3 generational party of 12. Score card:Cleaning F -we had to purchase cleaning supplies to reclean the night we arrived. Chip crumbs in a bed. M&Ms on the floor. Solo cups on the deck beside a broken chair. Vacuum was packed full. We had to clean vacuum to use it. . Management company only sent us $28 for incovenixe. (BS. We spent more on supplies to do their work)Appliances C. Icemaker barely worked. Oven drawer is falling off. Fridge is missing all of the door storage racksPool D. Pool wasn’t cleaned upon arrival, but they did come a few days later. However pool is not bonded properly. Electric shock can be felt on outer edge where water touches the concrete on the outside of the pool. Kids enjoyed the pool until we discovered the shock issue. This needs fixed by a certified electrician. Furnishings B well stocked plates -silverware. Cookie sheets were rusted & should be replaced. Floor Plan A. 3rd floor was ideal for meals, family game nights and making memoriesOther remarks Volleyball needs attention. Net needs replaced court is full of weedProperty did stay dry. Other side of development had standing water in yard spaceProperly is close to grocery storeDistance to beach was good for 2 of 3 generations. Carpet has stainsHot tub was good. Many positives. Property has potential with layout but issues need resolved before I would refer a friend.

Summer vacation

This house was just as described/ listed & perfect for our stay. I didn’t notice it was pet friendly when booking so that’s reason I gave 3 stars for cleanliness, a lot of animal hair left behind in addition to sand which I understand is hard to keep out but a decent vacuum or broom might help. The beds were very comfortable & plenty of pots and pans of various sizes. The dryer doesn’t dry efficiently - it takes two cycles unfortunately. The carpets had been cleaned just prior to our arrival because they were still damp when we arrived at 4:00 so no stains as others complained of. The AC worked perfectly fine, just took some figuring out (not the standard looking thermostat) Brand new grill which we used one night. I would stay here again for sure if it were not for the hike to the beach. It’s maybe 4 blocks of houses away from the beach and there is no real parking /drop off area to unload all your beach stuff, we just parked in the roads near the entrance to the beach unloaded & then drive the truck back & my husband walked back. Definitely need a wagon if you’re taking little ones who can’t help much & choose to walk. No issues really!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is nice, sunny and airy but dirty. The carpets were all stained. The door handle was broken and no one ever called me back to fix or send anyone out to repair it. Another door handle fell off during the week and we kept finding broken items throughout the house. I understand it is a rental but we have stayed at many houses in Corolla and all of our previous stays have been nicer. This house just needs a lot of maintenance and care to make it a great experience. It's a nice house, just has not been cared for in a while.

The yard and volleyball area needs some maintenance and certain areas of the carpet could use a cleaning. The pool table was smaller than expected and had a few water stains but I guess that's expected when strangers rent your home. With all that said, it didn't change the fact that we enjoyed it.

Could Easily be better

It was spacious and well laid out. Upon arrival, we found cigarette butts on one deck, sand in the pool, debris/garbage all around the pool, overgrown weeds on the side yard and around pool, mildew on the back door, living room rug was stained in several places (carpet needs to be torn up throughout the house). Mattresses were not at all comfortable and the commercial/hospital sheets were ill-fitting. There was no new sponge left for us to do dishes with and only 2 dish towels - so were were constantly having to wash them. The upstairs master bathroom sink did not drain well and toilet only sometimes flushed. This house is lovely has the potential to be a 5 star property if it were only better maintained.

Make sure AC works

First off- the management company did an awesome job with attending to all our concerns! However, the AC did not work for two days. The units are old and have had issue earlier in the summer. They should be replaced by the owner as even with the window units we were so uncomfortable we couldn’t do much else. The units are old and can not keep up with the NC summer heat and humidity. The sink in the master upstairs room is slow to drain and two toilets do not work well. I did t love having to stick my hand in the tank to try to get it to fill while on vacation. One toilet leaked and the water needed to be turned off until maintenance could work on it. The refrigerator does not have shelving on the doors and ran hot because it was working too hard in the hot house without AC. There is no way the fridge is big enough to accommodate foos for 12 for a week. We had a party of 7 and it was pushing it. Other than poor systems that need attention by the homeowner, this house is wonderful. Location is a bit of a hike to the beach- so have a wagon ot use a bike. The information on the fridge about trash is not the same as what’s in the binder. Also- they ask you to vacuum and you can’t because there are no bags for the vacuum cleaner. We had a wonderful week- but the house did not live up to the name Serenity with the multiple calls about maintenance needs. Ask questions before you rent- find out if AC if FULLY fixed and if plumbing works smoothly.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The outside of the house was very littered with leaves and dirt. The gas grill cover was in a heap of dirt and leaves on the back patio. I have pictures if needed. The vacuum was not functional because there were no vacuum bags to be found. Therefore we could not vacuum as required, I sent an Email Friday afternoon. The upstairs air conditioning stopped working on the first day. The window unit they gave us also stopped working and couldn't keep it cold. The downstairs refrigerator was froze over and was not working correctly. There should be at least one roll of toilet paper in the house as it costs $5000 to rent it. The upstairs screen door worked like absolute garbage, it didn't slide hardly at all. We did had a great vacation, but would NEVER rent this house again.
