Starfish Cottage is our four-bedroom beach house located one block to the sugar sand beach of Anna Maria. Enjoy the island breeze while vacationing in style and comfort.

The dine-in kitchen features a large table with seating for eight and leads to the living room with patio doors out to the pool.

Two of the four king bedrooms feature an en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom has a TV and includes crisp linens and plush towels from our professional linen company. Your guests will stay connected with complimentary WIFI and enjoy all of the comforts of home, including a full-sized washer and dryer.

The sparkling, heated pool is the highlight of the tropically landscaped backyard. Complete with pool loungers, outdoor shower, cornhole game, putting green, grill and patio dining table for six with an umbrella, poolside is the perfect place to spend the day when not at the beach.

Located in a residential neighborhood in Holmes Beach, Starfish Cottage is close to everything the island has to offer. The free trolley stops nearby and travels the entire length of the 7 miles of the island. Hop on and off at your leisure and explore shopping, dining and the beaches.

Wonderful

This property is in a great location as well as a very nice clean comfortable home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need except for a crockpot! Towels and beach gear were all in great condition. The back and side yard are a very nice place to hang out and the pool is amazing! We would stay here again. The property managers are top notch and very easy to communicate with.

Excellent location!

We loved the house and location! The house was beautifully decorated and clean. Beds were comfortable. Pool was awesome!! Great to be able to relax in your own heated pool after a day at the beach. The location couldn’t have been better-literally a 3 minute walk across the street to the beach and around all shops and restaurants. The only issues we had- which were quite a problem was the lack of kitchen stuff. The house needs new pots and pans… one pan to cook in and it needs to be thrown away… no bowls or containers to put leftovers in or to even make a meal/salad. Only cereal bowls. When you pay that much money to stay at a house with a kitchen that big and you’re planning on cooking a lot of meals when you’re there, it’s pretty impossible to cook when you don’t have bowls or pans to use to cook with.. dishes are cheap. Someone needs to go to Walmart and buy some new pots and pans and a set of bowls/cookware. The yard and house is very private also with beautiful landscaping except the one side where the “grass” is. A 6’ privacy fence on the front part of the house would give total privacy to guests. These are minor things however and didn’t put a damper on anything! We loved our stay. But seriously BRING YOUR OWN COOKWARE

Great location and property

Property was exactly as described and very nice, plenty of room for our party of 7! The pool was a plus after all day on the beach, speaking of the beach, access was just a short walk away, as described. I highly recommend Starfish Cottage!

Location and house is great

We had a great vacation. House is 1.5 blocks to beach so perfect location. Had one minor hiccup, but property managers handled the problem quick and efficiently. Back yard is better than pictured! Will definitely be back!

Stay at Starfish Cottage

The house was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the heated pool. The water temperature stayed comfortable all week despite the cooler weather in January. The proximity to the beach is great.

Everything and more!

We loved our week at Starfish Cottage! The home had everything we could have needed. Each room had a smart TV, king bed, and ceiling fan. The A/C worked great. Beach access is just a few minutes away. Loved having a private pool, ping pong, and cornhole. The Anna Maria Life team is very responsive!

Excellent location

Stayed here with my husband and kids (teens). The pool is wonderful and you are only a block from the beach. The house had plenty of room. The AC wasn't working well in part of the house and the dishwasher, blender and a tv were broken, a few other things as well but the property manager was super responsive and helped replace/repair. I would rent it again for sure.

Ideal location - you can truly go from pool to beach and back again! Property is generally well maintained. Pool ideal for our 5yo. Nice play area on the side with fake grass. Quiet inside despite being on the corner. Comfy beds!

Terrific Holiday

Myself and 3 girlfriends were absolutely impressed by our entire stay. The ease of arrival, the great island décor, cleanliness and the setup so we each had our own rooms with a king size bed was ideal. We had a very close walk to the beach and loved the heated pool. All the pool toys and beach chairs was an added bonus. The prompt response by Anna Maria Life to our questions was appreciated. My only suggestion is they include information on how to access the TV’s. We plan to come back next girl’s holiday and stay at Starfish Cottage.

Perfect place for week away

Perfect vacation getaway. Well-appointed home with thoughtful touches. Clean, new appliances, washer dryer and bathroom for every bedroom. Perfect for three to four couples or combination with family. Very short walk to the beach (across the street) and everything you'd want to take spend the day at the beach or the pool. The house is perfectly positioned - far enough away from the north and midpoints of the Island with limited congestion. This pretty house, has a small and perfect size pool to cool off or soak, ping pong table and bags boxes for out door games. Reliable Wifi/TV's in every bedroom. They've thought of everything.

Excellent Location!

The house is literally across the street from the beach, as well as close to food shopping, minutes from amazing restaurants (highly recommend Sand Bar Restaurant on the beach). Location was perfect! The house is as stated & roomy for a family, pool is very nice and clean. My biggest complaint is there not not enough towels, we had to do laundry daily so we could have clean towels, we were 6 adults, 2 kids. Kitchen not fully stocked, i had to request a cutting board and kitchen towels. The good note is that the property manager is very responsive and each time I needed something they provided it right away except for the towels they never did bring the extra towels. Regardless, the house is lovely nicely decorated all of the TV and again the pool was wonderful in the evenings as the barbecue I would definitely stay in this house again.

perfect stay close to the beach

I booked the trip at the Starfish Cottage for my in laws and I. We stayed with a couple small children so the fact that this was all one level, had a private pool, and was only a block’s walk to the beach access made it perfect for us. Our littles enjoyed the pool. We liked not having to worry about any stairs, and we loved that since we were so close to the beach we could walk, didn’t need to worry about parking, and when littles needed naps some of us could come back to put them down for a rest while others stayed at the beach. The outdoor shower was really convenient too. The location was perfect, the house was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We all mentioned the beds being comfortable and there was plenty of space to spread out. Property managers were very responsive, easy to communicate with and very helpful and accommodating when plans for us changed a couple times. I would highly recommend staying here and with these owners at any of their properties.

Great location! 1 block to the public beach. Great setup for 4 couples. Water pressure in the 2 bedrooms with bathrooms was great, not so good in the detached bathrooms. Air conditioning seemed to have an issue. House was warm, could never get the temp below 74 which made sleeping uncomfortable. Great pool but water seemed murky but had some strong winds with a lot of debris falling from the trees. Could have used a few more beach chairs, we ended up purchasing a couple and left them at the house, but there still wasn’t a chair for all 8 of us.

Great house for a girls trip

The home is just as described in the listing. It is clean and comfortable and we loved that each bedroom had a king bed and we each had our own bathroom. Two en-suite and two hall baths. All bedrooms have tv’s and a huge tv in the living room. The back yard is lovely with a fun turf area where we could practice yoga. The kitchen has all the basic utensils and the refrigerator is nice and big. We loved that there were beach chairs and noodles and floats for our use. It is an easy walk to the beach! They also had plenty of beach towels. Just note, there are no food products whatsoever. I would suggest stopping at the dollar store for essentials like hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap(they provide one wash) laundry detergent, Kleenex, extra paper towels and toilet paper(they provide one roll for each bathroom and one roll of paper towels) kitchen trash bags (they have two) I did like that we could leave any unopened food for the cleaning crew to donate. We will definitely rent this place again!!

Lovely property

The property is in a great location two minute walk to the beach. Quiet neighborhood close to the trolley stop. The house was decorated perfect. A lot of VROB homes are so fancy you are terrified something will break. This house is so cute and practical. Some things I would draw attention too. 1. The heater was on the pool. Which might be nice but it was a very hot week and we didn’t discover it was on until the night before we left. Would be better to leave instruction on where it is and how to operate unless winter time then turn it on. 2. They had lots of pool and beach accessories which is nice. I suspect people may have out ahead and left them behind. I ended up going thru the box and stacking all the broken things in one area in hopes that maybe the owners might see them and toss it out. I didn’t feel Comfortable doing it. 3. Need extra trash cans. Trash picks up on Monday and Friday but most properties had tow trash cans and one recycle can. By Friday the trash was bursting out of the one can. 4. The pool really needed a midweek cleaning. The pool boy came the day before checkout and as I mentioned was a hot week so it was pretty cloudy by the time he arrived. All in all it was a fantastic vacation and the above list isn’t a compliant more then feed back for the owners to make it an even better place to stay!

Perfect vacation home

Loved the house and location, but will not likely stay here again because of the management company. We were there with another couple and when she opened her closet door, the crown molding fell off the wall on her and it had exposed nails that cut her and she had huge bruises from top to bottom on her arm. The office sent Brent to fix it and he was wonderful. He also had to get all of our TV's working probably because the instructions in the book were insufficient. There were lots of little things that were issues, and all driven by the management company. They charge a ridiculous fee and put the bare minimum in the rentals. Plus, the previous guest had an Amazon pkg delivered, and we got a call from Anna Maria Vacation Rentals to watch for the pkg and then they called again to say there was another one to watch for and bring in the house. We were tired of them using us to get packages for another renter, so we went by their office to tell them we were leaving a day early and we were told they would not refund the last night. Then the day we were leaving, they called me again to ask another "favor", which was to look for another pkg for the next guest that was a set of golf clubs and he wanted them to be put in the backyard for him. I told her we were leaving and she hadn't had that communicated to her. We've been coming to AMI 2x/year for 16 years and have never had a management company ask us to be their step and fetch for other renters. Again, great house and location!

Outstanding house, just 2 very short blocks walking distance to great beach spot

This was truly an exemplary property. This was probably our ~8th vacation rental home, and we agreed it was the best experience. This house is everything they say and more. 4 bedrooms, all king beds. 4 bathrooms (3 with showers, 1 with a shower/bath combo). Nice kitchen with newer appliances in good condition. Interior space had plenty of room for a family of 5. A TV with a cable box in every bedroom plus a large ~65" in the living room - and even an outdoor TV in a little weatherproof enclosure you can open up if you want to watch TV in the pool. ...speaking of which... the back yard is AMAZING! Very nice clean pool (believe it was salt not chlorine) that is HEATED and lighted. There is a large open space with nice new astroturf that kids can play in, a set of bags (cornhole) boxes, adirondack chairs, chaise lounges, and an outdoor dining table. Plus a propane grill, those little portable "backpack" fold-up beach chairs with the puches on them for beach gear, and even an outdoor shower to wash the sand off before you go inside. Did I mention it has a lovely pool too? The kids and I really enjoyed the pool, with nice concrete stairs built into it that little kids could do safely (supervised, of course). There is a nice plastic privacy fence all around, and palm trees and lovely tropical landscaping that made the backyard completely private. No one can see you in the pool. Wow, what a wonderful property. The only issue we had was the pool had a fair amount of plant debris (palm tree leaves and such) in it, but I called the property manager and they had someone out the next day to clean it. Apparently they normally clean it twice a week, but they did have a rainstorm roll through before we arrived that probably caused a lot of the leaves to fall in. I suppose that's the price you pay for such nice landscaping and privacy in your back yard. Really, the speed with which they took care of it actually turned it into a positive in my opinion. Beach access throughout AMI & Holmes beach is excellent, nearly every street has a beach access at the end, and you are 2 very short blocks (seriously, only like 3 houses per block) to get your feet in the sand at the beach. The beach nearby is very nice white sand and very clean. It's not quite Siesta Key quality but is very close and better than 95% of beaches I've ever visited. We stayed in February, so nights were cooler, but everything worked great. Cannot recommend this highly enough.
