Summary:
Perched above Hekerua Bay, Hekerua Heights by Stay Waiheke, is a calm, spacious home surrounded by native bush and sea views. With open living areas, generous decks, and an outdoor spa tucked among the trees, itâs a peaceful spot to slow down and enjoy easy island days.
The Space:
Framed by native bush and blue sea, Hekerua Heights is a warm, inviting home designed for easy island living. The upper level opens to a bright, open-plan lounge and dining area with polished timber floors and floor-to-ceiling glass that fills the space with light. The kitchen is simple and modern, with rich wood cabinetry and clean finishes, perfect for preparing shared meals while still part of the conversation. Step through sliding doors to the wide deck and the view opens up: tree canopy, sea, and sky stretching out toward Hekerua Bay.
The layout makes the most of the surroundings. One bedroom sits on the main level beside the living area, while downstairs youâll find two more bedrooms, each with sliding doors to their own deck. The master enjoys morning light and views across the bay, while the second double and bunk room offer calm, private spaces for friends or family. Two bathrooms make group stays easy, one inside with a walk-in shower, and another leading to the private outdoor shower surrounded by greenery.
Outside, life slows to the islandâs rhythm. Start the day with coffee on the deck, end it with a glass of wine in the outdoor spa, and in between, drift between sun and shade, sea views and the sound of birds in the trees. From every level, Hekerua Heights by Stay Waiheke feels connected to its surroundings, calm, comfortable, and distinctly Waiheke.
A boat mooring is available on request.

The Neighborhood:
Hekerua Heights sits above a quiet stretch of coastline between Hekerua Bay and Sandy Bay, surrounded by native bush and the sound of birds in the morning. Youâre only a few minutesâ walk to Hekerua Bay for a quick swim, or about five minutes down to Sandy Bay, a calm, sandy cove perfect for paddleboarding or picnics.
The home is just a short drive from Oneroa Village, where youâll find cafĂ©s, shops, and relaxed dining. Stop by Solar Eating House for brunch in its leafy courtyard or try The Ocean View Kitchen & Bar for coffee and a simple daytime menu. For something more refined, The Oyster Inn, run by chef Josh Emett, serves fresh seafood and local wine in a breezy seaside setting.
Youâre also close to some of the islandâs best vineyards, Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Tantalus Estate, and Stonyridge, each offering long, easy lunches among the vines.
By evening, youâre back on the deck with the sound of the sea below and the island settling into its slow rhythm.
Getting Around:
The nearest bus stop on Hekerua Road is just a few minutesâ walk away, connecting you directly to Oneroa Village, Palm Beach, and the Matiatia ferry terminal.
Visiting the vineyards couldnât be easier, leave the car at home and hop on the bus. You can relax over tastings at Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, Casita Miro, or Wild on Waiheke, and stop at The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery for a craft beer or wood-fired lunch on the way back.
Taxis and rideshares are available across the island, but they can be expensive, especially in the evenings or on weekends, so the bus is often the most relaxed way to get around.
Other Things to Note:
Like many Waiheke homes, Hekerua Heights runs on rainwater, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully during their stay.
A boat mooring is available in Hekerua Bay on request, please let us know in advance if youâd like to use it.
Please note, pets are not permitted at this property.
