Our quaint cottage offers a snug retreat for guests seeking to indulge in the finest experiences that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer. This humble abode is secluded and quiet, yet steps to the lake, the shops, the Shaw festival & wineries.

The Barbara is meticulously cleaned and sanitized after each booking, and the tasteful design and quaint finishes of this cottage set it apart as an exceptional wine country escape. Enjoy the 'Captain's Corner', a rustic (yet charming) screened in porch, looking out to a wild & rustic backyard, where nature has reclaimed its space.

2 driveway parking spaces are available for your stay. Access to the home is via the front door (a code will be provided to you once your stay is confirmed).

The entire cottage and our rustic, yet charming backyard are available for your enjoyment, excluding a small shed and private owner area, which house our stocking supplies for our guests.

Other things to note:
We abide by the Good Neighbour Agreement in Niagara-On-The-Lake. We ask that no parties are held on-site, and that our neighbours are respected throughout your stay.

Great location

So easy to get to town and very close to great water views. The space was amazing and incredibly comfortable. Check in was really easy and hosts were great at communicating. Would absolutely stay there again!

Met our needs perfectly

Our first time in NOTL and this home was perfect. Close to all the interesting sites and restaurants, comfortable and we also loved the well stocked book shelves.

Weekend stay.

As soon as we walked in we were amazed of how beautiful this house was. It was a great location very close to the lake and was very clean and tidy. Communication with Justin was amazing. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

Great stay!

This home was the perfect place for two couples to spend a long weekend in Niagara on the Lake! Everything was clean and well taken care of. The location was good, within about a 10 minute walk through a quiet neighborhood of Queen Street as well as the lake. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Great place in a perfect location

Loved this vacation home! House is warm and inviting. It's one block from the lakefront park and 3 blocks from downtown NOTL. I would definitely stay here again

The Barbara is lovely!

We really enjoyed our time in NOTL. The Barbara made it all the better. Location is perfect and the property is fantastic. Our hosts were wonderfully easy to work with. Would recommend to anyone looking to visit to rent this beautiful property.

Charming home in old town

This cottage is exactly as marketed. Cozy, neat, tidy, excellent location. Easy walk to the mouth of the Niagara River. Just a few short blocks to the downtown. We had an amazing time and would stay here again thank you.

Ideal location to explore NOL

Property was clean and internally well presented although the kitchen is starting to show age. Disappointed with the condition of the rear deck and garden - it would have been a lovely space to relax on warm evening if was safe and well maintained. Excellent location for walking into NOL and exploring.

Home is very comfortable and we have no complaints. Suggestions: Hire a landscaper to clean up around the house so it has curb appeal! Add a grab bar in tub/shower. Anything you can do to silence the sub pump which goes off every 20 minutes or so.

A beautiful Gem and prime location!

What a beautiful cottage! The care and warmth that went into this gem is highly apparent as soon as you walk through the door. The decor creates a warm and relaxing ambiance, a beautiful bookcase invites you to just pick a good read and relax! The beds are made beautifully, the bedrooms are so airy and sunny, and oh so comfortable. Bathrooms are immaculate, oh so important in my opinion! Everything you need for a home away from home! We were delighted with The Barbara, we would highly recommend a stay, we give it a 5 Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well-Appointed NOLT Cottage

We very much enjoyed our stay here! The location provides a quick walk to the park, dining, shopping, and theatres. As the photos suggest, the house was well-appointed, decorated, clean, and cozy. The linens and beds were quality, the toiletries and cleaning products were top-notch, and the furniture and decor were beautiful. To echo the same feedback as some other reviews, the only downside of this home is the outdoor space. We loved the screened porch, but the rest of the deck and yard are missed opportunities. We love being at the lake and outside and wish the property reflected the beautiful garden atmosphere found throughout town. That's not to say that this yard would have to be perfectly manicured, but our friends agreed that a natural/native yard and garden still need some care and consideration. We would've loved to sit outside on the deck or in the yard amongst flowers, but that wasn't possible here.

Family Getaway

We love to visit Niagara On The Lake and staying at the Barbara was the perfect place to call home for our time here. It was in the perfect location, in walking distance from all that historic downtown has to offer and the river was right down the street. The house was clean and just right for the four of us. Cute and cozy! Justin and Lindy were wonderful to work with and lovely hosts!!!

Lovely stay on NOTL

We had a lovely stay at the Barbara! Justin’s place is so comfortable, clean and a great location. We walked to the water, into town and hopped on our bikes to ride the paths in the area. NOTL is a great place to stay if you would like to see the falls without being in the middle of touristy areas.

Very nice property

Really nice 2 bdr 2 bath home with all of the amenities needed. Just a few minute walk to the historic town, parks and marina. Only negative was the landscaping needed some TLC but the interior was clean and comfortable.

Sweet Cottage

We had everything we needed at the cottage. Basics like coffee, tea and sugar were a nice bonus. Proximity to the river and lake were ideal for a swim or stroll along the water. Easy and short walk to the busy strip in town.

Cottage Bliss in NOTL

Quaint little cottage with so much charm! We loved our stay at The Barbara NOTL. The location couldn’t be better, great communication with the host, and we will certainly be back in the near future. HIGHLY recommend!
