40 skogsklädda tunnland av ren fred i Kiamichi Mountain regionen i Oklahoma. Avskild. Inhägnad och gated. Inga grannar. Modernt hus med rustik charm - sitter tvärs över gatan från pittoreska Lake Nanih Waiya - Denna cedertäckta "Cabin" är en liten bit av lyx i hjärtat av Kiamichi Country. Bara 4 miles från Sardis Lake State Park båt ramp - 5 miles från Clayton. 1/2 timme från Robbers Cave. Bara 1. 5 miles från Choctaw Nation Council House, har denna fastighet en sammanflöde av 2 vikar som matar in i Lake Nanih Waiyhi vid egenskapskanten. Det ligger tvärs över gatan från båt rampväg. Rum för dina båtar, husbilar och fyrhjulingar. Lätt att komma till, asfalterad väg och stadsvatten. Huset sitter ett par hundra meter tillbaka, mitt i höga träd, omgiven av ett kraftigt skogsområde - så förvänta sig ett överflöd av vilda djur. Det här är inte vårt andra hem, det är DIN! Fullt utrustat kök, tvättmaskin / torktumlare och en Amazon Fire Stick för Smart TV. Allt du behöver ta med är matvaror.
Om du längtar efter vad jag kallar "den häpnadsväckande frånvaron av konstgjorda ljud", kan du få det här i en bekväm, ny, stilfullt jordisk miljö. Det är också en utmärkt "bas" för att utforska områdets många vackra attraktioner.
Om du aldrig har varit i Sydost Oklahoma, det ser ut som Alleghenies i West Virginia och Pennsylvania - eller Asheville, NC. Om du forskar på en resa, sök på dessa nyckelord för att få en bättre idé: Vikande Trappfall Berg, Talimena Scenic Drive, Choctaw Council House - eller om du är en Off-Road-fan, kolla in K-Trail of Oklahoma . En 8 mil sträckning tog oss 4 1/2 timmar i en 4X4.
Vi kallar detta hus "The Fishing Cabin" eftersom det ligger bredvid sjön och så nära Sardis Lake också.
Det är faktiskt ett modernt hus med stadsvatten, super tysta centrala luft / värme och graniträknare.
Staden Clayton har flera restauranger, mataffär, apotek, bildelar, däck butik, spritbutik, Dollar butik och en hårdvaruaffär. Vi har parkering för båtar / husbilar eller motorcyklar.

Nice quiet getaway ! Well stocked home & beautiful surroundings! Wonderful fishing spots all around, just make sure you get an Oklahoma fishing license, it’s not like Texas even if you pay to enter, you still must have a license.

Secluded- beautiful views

We were looking for a place to get away. This was the perfect spot! Quiet location with several wildlife walking through the area. Highly recommend.

Very nice cozy little home

Very nice home with great amenities. Nice, secluded property with a running stream beside the home. We saw no wildlife during our stay. Not even a squirrel or rabbit. There was a lot of hunters and gunshots happening around us. There was a lot of rain prior to us getting to the cabin and the driveway had puddles and it was a bit muddy around the cabin. It is very dark there so make sure and take a flashlight. You are going to need it for the 2 combo locks.

Serenity Now

We stayed two nights at this property and the experience was fantastic. The home was updated and clean. The property was grand with more things to see than we had time to see it. Did I mention the close proximity to the history of this part of Oklahoma. If you like quiet time and a ton of things to see and do, you owe it to yourself to try this place for a unique time.

Girls Getaway

Enjoyable time spent at this tranquil cabin with all the amenities. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax. Somewhat secluded with easy access the local fishing areas. It's a must!

Comfortable home in natural setting

Beautiful property. My family had everything we needed and as an added bonus the property was a great location to watch the local firework show. Good fishing nearby. Very comfortable home with hidden touches everywhere. Would stay again and would recommend.

Tuskahoma Cabin

Property was set back off main road, inside was nice; outside needed a little yard work. Thought the lake was on property, actually across street , Lake Naniwha park needed maintenance as well. But did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. All in all nice little cabin.

A Little Slice of Heaven

Our trip was just like going home to see MeMaw and Papa! We are lovers of all things nature and had a front row seat to a variety of birds, deer, raccoons, squirrel, turtles. fish, tadpoles and armadillo. Our boys loved the watchful eyes of the Superhero's stationed around the property!! The sounds of early morning and evening (owls and coyote's included) are exactly what you need to let go and reconnect. Great fishing just across the road and neighboring buffalo give one a sense of time standing still. A great swimming location is about 5 minutes away and NO TRAFFIC. We enjoyed cooking on the grill and topped off our final evening with a batch of homemade ice cream! If you have a longing for "home", this is the place! We'll definitely be booking again.

Peaceful Retreat

This is our third visit to this property. We love the quiet and my husband likes fishing across street and at the dam. Internet is quirky but that’s due to the location and no fault of the owner. Beds are comfy I love the little electric fireplace. Only suggestion I have is replacing the sofa. I highly recommend a visit to this gem in the woods!

Relaxing spot

Great spot to get away and relax or to go fishing. The cabin is very comfortable and has good views of the mountains and neighboring pastures. An unexpected plus was watching the neighbor's cattle as they cropped grass along the fence line - surprisingly relaxing. If you like to fish, you can try your hand at the small lake across the street.

This place is always great for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

We always enjoy our stay here at the cabin. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place to fish, or simply ride around and look at the countryside then this is the place. You may hear a goose honking or see some deer but that’s about it. The fishing is always good across the road at the lake. If you’re into birdwatching, this place seems to have some different and interesting birds and I might add the biggest squirrel I have ever seen in my life. The owners are always Johnny on the spot if a need arises, but that is very rare. Awesome place to rest up and recharge !

Cabin in the Valley

Located in the valley separating the Winding Stair and Kiamichi Mountain ranges, this cabin is a great place to stay and is a great base from which to see and enjoy all the area has to offer. Quiet, lightly traveled area close to in-town services.

Fishing cabin

Really nice cabin for fishing on nearby lakes and streams. Cabin was as advertised; clean, quiet and efficient...is not a luxury model but updates are recent and nice. Host was responsive and informative. Will rent this property again for fishing or hunting in the area.

We travel a lot. And we've been using VRBO for years. This part of Oklahoma is a hidden gem - just beautiful rugged country in the classic eastern (of the Great Divide) sense. Our farm is nearby and we're committed to helping others discover this fantastic escape so surprisingly close to Dallas or Tulsa or OK City.

This land had an old shop on it with a hand dug well through the slab in the main room! More importantly, its Creeks feed the Lake. And the fishing is excellent! We thought it deserved protection and preservation. The name, Nanih Waiya is sacred to the Choctaw people.
The first capital of the Choctaw Nation in Indian Territory and the earliest seat of government established within Oklahoma, Nunih Waya was located approximately one and one-half miles west of Tuskahoma in present Pushmataha County. Nunih Waya (Nanih Waiya), meaning "bending" or "leaning mountain," was originally the name of a sacred Choctaw mound in Winston County, Mississippi. According to a tribal origin myth the Choctaw, or "red people," emerged from beneath the knoll.
