The Space:
Dairy Flat Farm Cabin 1 sits in the quiet suburban neighbourhood of Waitoki, just 36 minutes from Auckland. A vibrant city, also known as the "city of sails" boasts a spectacular waterfront, a magnificent skyline, and stunning beaches such as Browns Bay Beach, and Mairangi Bay Beach.

Located in one of the most beautiful tiny homes in Waitoki, close to Muriwai Beach, Shakespear Regional Park, and Orewa Beach. We are located not far from the fun, on a beautiful piece of land facing north that offers breathtaking views of lush pastures, fresh air, and the serenity of suburbia.

A comfortable 155-square-feet accommodation with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities including an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

If you plan to spend your tiny house NZ retreats here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities, such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that there will be a second tiny house called "Dairy Flat Farm Cabin 2" that sit on the same property. If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.

In addition, please advise that there will be some animal and agricultural noise during your stay with us as we are a working farm that cares for crops and animals.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings, except for some areas with electric fences.

Furthermore, guests have the opportunity to indulge in a delightful outdoor bath complete with both hot and cold shower options. ( This will be available end of March 2024 )

- Riverhead Forest is a state-owned forest that provides many hiking, walking, running, and cycling opportunities.
- Orewa Beach is a pristine golden sand beach with gentle waves, watersports, and over 15 restaurant options for you to enjoy.
- Shakespear Regional Park has a range of paths ranging from walking routes through native bush to wetlands, beaches, and farmland.
- Red Beach is a small bay surrounded by stunning headlands with clinging pohutakawa, coloured red by red shells that wash up on the beach.
- Muriwai Beach is a coastal community on the west coast of the Auckland Region brimming with local cuisines and beautiful coastal views.

Concerts:

- Orewa Surf Sounds on March 30th, 2024, presents live music, food trucks, and fireworks. This free community concert is a fundraiser for the Orewa Surf Club. Enjoy live music by the band 'REWIND', food trucks, amusements, and fireworks at Orewa Beach until 8pm.

Getting Around:
By car:

- From Auckland CBD, 40-60 minutes, 35 km and to nearest towns (Silverdale) 5minutes, 5 km
- Reachable by 2wd

By public transport:

- Guests Can only get here part way by bus.
- From Auckland CBD: Take NX1 from Lower Albert st to Hibiscus Coast Bus Station (silverdale)
- From the property to Silverdale ( 5minutes drive)

- Portable water is free
- WiFi is available
- Pets not allowed
- Gas BBQ grill is available
- Breakfast is available for an extra cost
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Electric fences installed; please take extra care
- No smoking allowed inside, except in designated areas
- Expect agricultural noise and farm animals on the property
- Mobile reception is strong with Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark networks, while there is no signal for Telstra and Optus.
- Given the farm setting, children are welcome under CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

Farm guidelines

- Farm experience is subject to the host's availability.
- Always remember to shut the gates before entering and leaving the paddocks
- Please do not enter animal paddocks or yards without the land host's permission
- We ask guests to keep a safe distance from farm animals as they are easily agitated
- We also ask guests not to feed farm animals as they are on specific diets for their health

Important note:

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
