Hills Haven is located in a gorgeous picturesque cottage area in Minden Hills. It is the perfect spot for relaxation and immersing yourself in nature! You will enjoy the beautiful view of Irondale River right outside of the kitchen window or from the front porch/sunroom. The deep, clean water is perfect for a swim off of the floating dock located right out front. This picturesque setting is gorgeous in every season. The river view, firepit, and air conditioning gives you everything you need for the great outdoors during the sunny season. The hot tub, wood stove, and outdoor firepit provide the perfect winter relaxation feel.
Hills Haven has two comfortable and stylish bedrooms for your stay. All linens are included and are thoroughly washed after each guest checks out. If you would like to bring extra guests, there is a $75 fee/guest per night. Please notify us for approval - extra guests are welcome to tent or bring an air mattress to sleep on.
Hills Haven is fully stocked and equipped to ensure you have everything you need for your stay! The kitchen features many amenities including an oven/stove, microwave, coffee, tea, brand new pots and pans, basic spices, and all baking and cooking equipment and supplies. There is laundry and cleaning supplies available should you need them during your stay.
Our half bathroom is fully stocked with everything needed including toilet paper, soap, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner.
Hills Haven features a brand new hot tub that can be used in any season, and a relaxing screened in sunroom with patio set. There is also access to a 6 seat firepit and two kayaks which are free for your use. Enjoy a coffee on the deck or an outdoor dinner with friends at the picnic table. There is a large front yard with lots of space for yard games, and we have left a full badminton set which you are welcome to set up and use.
For entertainment, we have cards and board games at the cottage that you are free to use as well as a SmartTV for cuddling up and watching your favourite show on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
NOTES:
- In the summer months, we ask that our guests follow the quiet time rule from 11pm-7am to be respectful to our neighbors as sound travels easily on the water. In the winter months, the cottage is extremely private as the cottages surrounding the Haven are seasonal and our neighbors do leave for the winter season.
- Please bring drinking and cooking water with you as the cottage has river water that is not drinkable.
- Firewood is not included so please remember to pick up some firewood for your stay! There is firewood available for purchase at the the Shop n' Save in Kinmount on the way to the cottage.
- In the summer months, please make sure to bring along bug spray as the mosquitos and critters like to enjoy the cottage too!
- There is WIFI and a Smart TV at the cottage. Our Starlink internet connection is high speed and provides the perfect opportunity to work from the cottage.
- Firepit: please keep in mind that fires are permitted at night between the hours of 7pm and 7am. Daytime fires are prohibited.
- Pet Friendly - We are animal lovers and welcome you to bring your furry family members! The cottage is not fenced in, so please take care and keep an eye on your pets!
- Hills Haven is family and child friendly, but please keep a close eye on your kiddies around the river and hot tub! If you are bringing small children please be advised that you will need to bring your own travel crib.
- Please note that the water can only be accessed from the floating dock - there is no beach area or entry/exit point for pets to swim in the river. They are more than welcome to swim but would need to jump in off the dock and be lifted back out of the water.
- During winter months, the river is off limits. Do not try to walk on the ice as the river is flowing and it is not safe to do so. Simply enjoy the view!
There is a driveway with enough parking for 4 cars. During winter months, the roads leading up to the driveway and the driveway will be plowed - however, we highly recommend winter tires.
Guests are welcome to park their boats, ATVs, and snowmobiles at the property. For more info on closeby boat launches and snowmobile trails, please visit the town of Minden website.
We have included a guest welcome guide at the cottage that will outline everything you need to know about the Haven including nearby locations recommendations, parks and trails, and dining. This guide is available at the cottage as well as by email beforehand if you wish to view it beforehand to help you plan your stay!

Hi - we're Andrew and Amber, the hosts of Hills Haven! We purchased this cottage in the fall of 2023 with a dream and a vision - to create a space that provides the peace and tranquility that we all need in our lives. We renovated the space to create a modern and luxurious, yet cozy feel for our guests. Hills Haven is a place to come to get away from the business of everyday life. We want our guests to view the Haven as a physical and mental reset - relax in the hot tub, have a fire with friends, cozy up by the wood stove and read a good book. Do whatever it is that your soul needs to take those little moments to just enjoy life! We love hosting our guests and can't wait to share this little slice of river paradise with you.

The view of the river at Hills Haven is so peaceful and gorgeous, and the 6 seat hot tub and firepit overlook these beautiful views. In the winter months, the Haven is the definition of seclusion and privacy as the surrounding cottages have been shut down for the season. We winterized this cottage so that it can be used in all seasons - summer is gorgeous for swimming and activities outside, and winter is perfect for a hot tub and a cozy night by the wood stove. The cottage is fully equipped and ready for your stay, fully renovated with boho chic luxury decor, and has so much to offer in every season!
