About the home
âThe Seascape Shackâ is a delightful single-storey family home in Cowes just a short walk from the beach and comfortable walk or drive to the supermarkets, restaurants & cafĂ©s of Cowes. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
The large open plan Living/Dining/Kitchen (with 50" smart TV & Coonara-style wood heater) flows through to Bedroom 1, the first Bathroom (with shower & toilet), and Bedroom 2 & 3 (each with BIR). A hallway leads towards the rear of the home with a home office space (set up to enable 2 people to WFH with two desks, office chairs, two monitors (with Hdmi cables) and two laptop stands), Bedroom 4 & 5 (each with BIR), and a Laundry (with washing machine) that provides access to the second Bathroom (with shower & toilet).
Outdoor Areas
Entertaining is a dream, with a Servery window from the Kitchen opening straight onto the fully covered rear deck (with gas BBQ, 8-seater table, 32" TV with chromecast, 2-seater couch and cafe blinds) which overlooks the fully enclosed rear yard and is perfect for families, featuring table & chairs, a sun umbrella, a trampoline for the kids, and a hot/cold outdoor shower. There are some furniture items on the deck that guests should feel welcome to move onto the grass to use (2 black chairs and a lounge set). The deck itself also has clear blinds that are able to be opened or closed to make the space functional regardless of the weather and conditions.
The front yard is also enclosed, and there is parking for up to 3 vehicles (cars and/or a boat) in the carport and driveway (the Garage is not for guest use).
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, sandwich press, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, 900mm electric oven and electric cook top.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There is a wall mounted reverse cycle airconditioner in the Living/Kitchen/Dining room. There are ceiling fans in bedroom 2, bedroom 3 and bedroom 4. The home has five additional stand-alone heaters and fans (one in each bedroom) which can be used where required as well. There is a Coonara wood-heater in the Living Room (some wood provided to get you started).
Bedding Configuration
This home has 9 beds, accommodating up to 13 guests:
Bedroom 1: One Tri-bunk bed
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed
Bedroom 3: One Queen bed
Bedroom 4: One Queen bed
Bedroom 5: One set of Single bunks, one Single Trundle bed and one Single bed
Please note: The Tri-bunk has a double bed base with a single bed above it.
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
