We had a wedding at this beautiful property. The house and grounds were amazing, perfect for an intimate wedding with enough room for 50 people. We catered food and they had no issues getting to the grounds. Highly recommend this property for any event. We had a wonderful time and management was quick to respond to any questions we had! There is also many things around the home that we were able to use for decorations.

Team Retreat

Overall our stay at the lodge was delightful! No cell reception, which I didn’t know about initially, but it was a blessing in disguise, as it served to disconnect our team from their devices and reconnect with one another. Wifi internet was almost non-existstant, but I wasn’t too bothered by that. Beautiful location, beautiful home. Thanks for a great stay!

Less than an hour from downtown Colorado Springs, less that 20 minutes from Woodland Park, but no cell service and NO NOISE POLLUTION for anywhere. Nothing but relaxation in a world-class facility. Worth every penny we paid. The best, most relaxing vacation we have ever had. Every detail is perfect, every utensil is in its place, everything you need for a perfect, enjoyable time alone with family or friends is at your fingertips. Simply the best.

Perfect house for our trip

We had a decent sized group, 13 people. The house was incredibly accommodating for that size. Basically every bedroom having its own bathroom was a huge plus. The house seems to live a little smaller than it is, but we never felt cramped. My point is if you think the house might be “too big” I don’t think you’d feel that way. Kitchen is great and is big enough to cook some serious meals. The bar area was a huge plus for our group as we ended up spending the majority of the time there. Highly highly recommend this house.

60th birthday celebration

My siblings have all had birthday gatherings at special locations, and mine was no different. Sixteen of us met was various states across the country at Thunder Butte for a long weekend of celebration and fun! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. He kitchen was filled with everything we needed to make our daily meals. Plenty of bedrooms allowed for afternoon reading or “quiet” time after late nights of playing games in the downstairs pub.. We took long walks and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the mountains. Communication with the manager was spectacular prior to our stay when I had a few questions. It was a truly memorable weekend, and I’m so happy that we chose to stay at this property for our celebration.

Beautifully located in the heart of a mountain.

While the outside of the home and location are beautiful, the inside could use some updating for the price. We loved the kitchen and den, the pool table was a nice touch as well as the vast dining area! The steam rooms worked perfectly, and the hot tub and fire pit were just fine. Lots of locations to find your own space in a large house with many people if you want. I do have some complaints with the cookware, mainly that the pots and pans are not of great quality, and are what you would expect from a low budget store. Most of the nonstick were scratched extensively. I understand they may not have been treated well by other guests, however, I expected better quality all the same. Other than the cookware, there are some minor things which were needing replaced and maintained such as the door knob to the outdoor porch from the dining area, sharp edges of the tile which cut two people in the wet steam room; the handrail going up the front steps and the beginning of the driveway, which if you are not careful could easily damage the underside of a shorter vehicle. However, the location and the solitude were what made this location amazing! Being in the mountain, while having this size of a house was perfect! Would recommend for larger sized groups for sure.

A Magical Wedding Weekend

I don't even know where to begin! We had a destination wedding planned to Grand Lake, Colorado and on the Wednesday before the wedding, sadly, Grand Lake was evacuated due to wildfires that had moved into the area. Needless to say, finding a new venue for a weekend wedding with overnight guests, a spot for a small ceremony, and a reception and away from the wildfires was no small task, and to replan everything in 12 hours! What a God-ordained find to come across the Thunder Butte Mountain Lodge! From the very start, Tiffany made every step of the process easy and within the day, we were booked and ready to figure out the rest of the details. Honestly, the pictures do not do this place justice! We walked in and our jaws dropped and the set up of TBML could not have been any better. This ended up being even better than the house we had rented in Garden Lake. We had enough room for everyone and had the most spectacular family wedding and reception. We had the ceremony on a spot with an amazing mountain view and followed it with an outdoor cocktail hour on the patio, where we had first dances and later had the party and more dancing! We headed into the amazing Grand Hall for a beautiful reception and dinner. It was magical! Every single person was blown away by the providence of God providing this place for us in the circumstance we found ourselves in. All of our guests felt so blessed in their amazing suites, some with their own fireplaces! The kitchen was fully equipped and large enough for our caterer to work his magic for our rehearsal dinner and for the reception. The lodge was perfect! Lastly, I will just comment on the location. Absolutely stunning! It is private and secluded and situated in a beautiful spot to capture amazing views and pictures. We had 65 degrees on the day of the wedding and then a snowstorm the next day bringing a foot of beautiful snow! Wow! We have so many incredible memories that all of our guests will remember for a lifetime. We were able to give our daughter her dream wedding after her original plans canceled three days before and we couldn't have asked for anything better! Thank you so much, TBML for making dreams come true and lifetime memories for our family!

We hosted our small wedding here and it was A DREAM. Before you even get there, Tiffany was incredible with answering questions and allowing us to see the property ahead of the big day. She even sent the landscaper over on the weekend to do any last minute touch ups. The amphitheater, the bar, the dining hall, the spa, the entire set up of the house was perfect! We had 44 guests including ourselves and we fit in the dining hall and other areas perfectly for the flow of the day. 12/10 recommend having your small wedding here!!

We hosted an intimate wedding at the lodge and the views were incredible. The size of the lodge was perfect for our needs and there was plenty of space on the property for all of our guests and wedding needs. There were multiple doors wide open upon our arrival and the cleaning of the property could be improved in general. We had great communication with the property manager and overall it was an excellent place to host our dream wedding.

The property is in an excellent location. We loved our time with family and had plenty of rooms/bathrooms for all 19 of us. Deferred maintenance, with broken vacuums, kitchen disarray, heavy cleaning products, and worn furniture. We did enjoy the property and would like to return if a bit of love is added back. The property had much to offer in space, outdoor hikes, hot tub, large farm tables, beautiful surroundings and fairly close to Colorado Springs for outings. Would we stay again? Yes....

We stayed here for our recent microwedding, and it was absolutely perfect. The space was beautiful & spacious —- plenty of room for us and our small group to relax and celebrate. Wedding spectacular

5/5 StarsWe stayed at this beautiful VRBO for my daughter's wedding weekend, and it was absolutely perfect—even though it rained the entire wedding reception! The outdoor space was stunning and the home itself was gorgeous, cozy, and well-appointed. Despite the weather, the setting created such a magical, intimate atmosphere that we couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop for our special day. The hosts were responsive and thoughtful, making everything easy and stress-free. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a charming and peaceful retreat with plenty of character!

Family Christmas Trip

My family, a group of 21, with ages ranging from 6 to 70 years old thoroughly enjoyed the lodge for our Christmas holiday. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas with 3 large Christmas trees and a few smaller trees around the house. The spacious lodge was perfect for our large group and the amenities offered were such a nice touch. The house had beautiful views from every balcony. Our family was concerned about visiting Colorado in the winter due to cold temps and snow but the lodge was equipped with hydronic flooring which kept the over 7,000 sq ft home warm and comfortable. The host was very helpful and always responsive. This family trip was a success largely due to the lodge!

Beautiful mountain property.

The property is remote and beautiful. Plenty big for my large family. It's a beautiful home with a ton of amenities that we thoroughly enjoyed. Loved the big dining area. It could use a pantry in the kitchen however with some more of the basics like thin foil and Saran wrap. The extra refrigerators were wonderful and the bar downstairs, away from the upstairs bedrooms allowed the adults a place to play while the children slept undisturbed. The toilet in bedroom 6 was broken and the tub didn't drain. There are leaks in one of the on-suite bath sink and shower upstairs as well. We still enjoyed our stay very much.

Wedding at Thunder Butte Lodge

This VRBO is awesome!!! The actual property itself is amazing. The views are spectacular. The rooms are way nicer than the photos make them seem in my opinion. The dining room makes eating eggs and bacon feel luxurious, and the whole home in general feels both fancy and homey. We hosted our small wedding of 40 people here and it could not have been a better venue. The thing that stuck out however was Tiffany’s support. We had 2 feet of unexpected snow and Tiffany was gracious enough to stay in communication and help us with plows. Not to mention helping with our 101 questions leading up to the wedding. I highly recommend this property and the management.

Wonderful stay and perfect wedding!

We had our wedding here and were able to have the entire wedding party stay in the house with us. The entire weekend was perfect! The house manager was always reachable and very helpful to any questions or concerns. The views were amazing and the house was gorgeous. We loved being able to stay here and have our wedding in a setting with amazing views. The house let us use their tables and chairs which helped so much! Definitely recommend staying here for your next family gathering or small event. There is also no AC in the house, which I was concerned about at first, but the weather was beautiful all weekend (70-80s) and the evenings were chilly which allowed for a nice breeze to come through the windows and balcony doors at night. If you’re having a wedding/party/event, the pub was a big hot spot for us. We all hung out downstairs and played pool every night. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!
