Rustic Cabin Getaway - new build with romantic cosy loft bed and outdoor fire

Enjoy your Getaway in this stylish, creative little cabin. Set on an acre, in the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges, West Auckland, tucked away from the family home, you can sit on the deck and watch the clouds drift by or get out and about in the wild of the bush and beaches. The loft bed with skylight is very popular - it's 'dreamy'. You will be greeted by fresh flowers from the garden and eggs if the hens are being good plus a few other welcome surprises in the fridge! Local Armour Bay is perfect for a stroll and there are waterholes 10 minutes away at the Karamatura valley, Huia plus many walks in the Ranges. Great Wifi and cell coverage means you can snuggle down and binge watch your favourite shows, or sit on the deck and watch the clouds go by. Many of our guests are looking for an escape from the city and we are perfectly placed to provide that, only 40 minutes from Auckland's CBD, 10 minutes to Titirangi village.

Great getaway

Nice, clean space to have time out. Great birdlife. Close to beaches and lookouts. Nice touch with flowers etc.

We live on the edge of the Waitakere Ranges Forest, formed by ancient volcanoes, skirted by some really famous West Coast NZ beaches. I love hosting because I love being a guest! I take a real pleasure leaving the cabin ready with fresh flowers from the garden, eggs (when the girls are laying), milk and treats in the fridge - and most importantly, wishing love for those about to enter the room!

I love the beaches, the forests, the rocky cliffs down the road at Huia, the village of Titirangi, a 10 minute drive away, with gorgeous cafes, restaurant bars, the bakery, takeaways, gallery AND theatre - what more do you need?! There's so much bird life what with all the forest and you can be under a dark enough sky to enjoy the Milky Way - plus it's only 40 minutes from the Auckland viaduct harbour if we want a city fix or to take a ferry to Waiheke or Great Barrier Island.

It's a funky build with driftwood from stairs to ceiling to keep you safe as you climb to a cosy, romantic loft bed with skylight. The composting toilet (literally a bucket under a proper fitted toilet seat) is proving to be a hit - I've converted a few people! It's all very civilised with sawdust and essential oils to sweeten the deal. The doors open out across the front and the view takes in the large garden, lots of trees, the ridge beyond and the moon at night. There's an outdoor fire to toast marshmallows over. Tui, Kereru, Morepork, Fantails, Waxeyes - birds big and small are all around. It has full wifi to suit a little out of the office work, or for downloading your photos of the place on Insta and catching up with your favourite shows up in the loft.
