Weekend getaway!

It’s a nice place to stay for a weekend. We enjoyed the massage chair and the hot tub. We were too sure about the instructions to use the sauna. But it got really hot in the middle of the night due to the kind of heaters they have. There’s no dishwasher which I did not notice before booking. Having a dishwasher is helpful because nobody wants to keep washing the dishes during their vacay! Property owner answers all your questions immediately which I appreciate. Overall we had a nice time. Thank you!

Not a very pleasant experience..

It was my husband’s birthday and I planned a cottage stay at this property. We reached the property and were very happy with the property and it was very clean. Host was very responsive and answered all our questions and requests. In the late evening, my partner went to the toilet and found it was clogged. We tried plunging it thinking it might fix it but unfortunately it did not fix the issue and it was 11 pm at night in an area where you might not get washroom access nearby. I got a message from Jay(The Host) in the morning at 6 that he might try to accommodate a plumber but due to Sunday we couldn’t find one. We managed the night but in the morning it was a nightmare dealing with this issue that we took the inconvenience. While we were getting ready to leave the property, our kid was playing in the backyard and there was a sewage area that was not secured/screwed by the owner and our kid slipped and fell half way into the sewer. This was a very disappointing and disturbing experience causing safety issues to my kid. I would have rated this property much better start if didn’t had to go through suck experience specially for a bday stay.

Disappointed

The property shows well & at first glance things looked fine. The beds were made & the sinks looked clean. My teens LOVED the massage chair. However we chose this property specifically for the amenities & were very disappointed to arrive to find the hot tub completely unusable/green, the dishes & utensils in the cupboard dirty, & the BBQ was left with a tray of burn food and dirty used cooking utensils. We had text with the owner several days prior asking about firewood & were assured there was plenty. The only wood pile was old lumber and flake board with dangerous rusty nails and screws left in. There were no instructions how to use the sauna or hot tub. (Thankfully I have owned several hot tubs before and knew how) The house water filter had stopped working and resulted in smelly yellow tap water (which prevented us from drinking, washing dishes or showering). We were left with the choice of leaving or going to purchase drinkable water, chemicals to rebalance and clean the hot tub, fire wood, toilet paper (as there was one half roll left) and supplies to wash dishes. We chose to drive into town, make the purchases and stay as it was our only 4 days together the entire summer but it was in no way what we paid for. To the credit of the owner he did reimburse us for the chemicals, water, tp & dish washing supplies but could not rectify the inability to shower & in my opinion we should not have had to do any of that. Proper care & it could have been a great stay.
