The location was great, close enough to town and restaurants, but far enough away from the summer crowds. Very private although the kids upstairs were a bit loud. Pricing was typical summer highs, I’m glad I could secure the space though,

Great location! Walked to everything in town. Only had to drive to the lighthouse. It is an old house so you can hear your neighbors upstairs walking around, if you are somebody sensitive to noise. Easy entry and easy checkout.

Great location a couple min to main street (not the actual name of the street, but you get the idea). We were able to walk around for meals, tours and shopping while having minimal traffic immediately by the room. The room itself was very spacious and clean with a high end rustic feel. We enjoyed having a dining room and space to spread out.

Photos on VRBO were accurate and the location is great. Overall, I would stay here again although I would bring a sleep mask. The light from the hallway (which has a note saying it has to stay on all the time) comes through the transom window over the door to the room...and right into your eyes when you are laying down. I ended up sleeping with a dark shirt draped over my eyes since there was no way to block out the light. Pretty minimal amenities (dishes, etc.) but the bed was very comfortable. Note for people who have a bad ferry/transportation connection time: the management company will not allow any flexibility in check out time - even if no one is staying there the following night.

The Acanthus home (Explorer Suite) is very cute from the outside. The host was also very easy to work with. The Explorer Suite has gorgeous detail with wooden beams, floors, and details. Visually, the rental is charming and has appeal. However, there are some very simple things that were big misses for us. Primarily, the grout in the shower is molding and the towels smelled like mildew prior to ever using them (and far worse with use). Additionally, the room smelled like cat urine. This isn't the end of the world, but was annoying given the cost of the rental for 4 nights. I probably would not stay here again in the future unless the cost came down to match the quality of the room.

We’ve truly never received a report that the Explorer Suite, or any of the Acanthus Suites, smelled the way you have described. We are disappointed this was your experience, and we will certainly make sure future towels and linens smell welcoming and clean! This is a beautiful and historic room with intricate woodworking, and we’re glad to hear that was appreciated.

Comfortable and clean

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cute and comfortable location, convenient to stores and shops. Friday Harbor Gem!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location, location, location! A quick walk to “downtown” Friday Harbor. A very cute old house, love the fireplace (has a thermostat for set temps). Parking in back which is essential for this small town. Has keyless entry and nice amenities (fridge, coffee maker, etc. our son sleep on air mattress and all worked out great! The staff were PHENOMENAL with some minor issues (all my fault) Would recommend and would stay again.

Everything was very clean & cozy. Perfect location for Friday Harbor - 5 min from ferry. Not far from other parts of the island you’ll definitely want to explore. Walking distance to town for food & shopping.

Perfect Spot!

I couldn’t be more happy with my stay. This place was quiet and quaint and an easy walk to everything in Friday Harbor, from coffee to the local brewery to whale watching tours.

Winter vacation

This location is nice and convenient. Walking distance to everything in Friday Harbor, and a quick drive to anywhere we needed to go. Will stay here again.

Friday Harbor on Argyle Street

It was such a charming place to stay. We loved that it was built so long ago with the beautiful wood furnishing. We especislly loved the picture of the kids and enjoyed thinking about what life was like for them back then. We loved our stay!

Perfect accommodation, perfect location.

The perfect base if you are looking to discover all the beauty Friday Harbor has to offer. An easy walk into the heart of town and only stone's throw to the local brewery. Would definitely stay again!
