  • Home Away From Home

"We have been staying at Theresa's Maple Suite on and off for over 2 years. We consider her place our second home and wouldn't stay anywhere else! Theresa is more than our landlady, she is a great friend. She has a wonderful sense of humor and is always available, flexible and helpful. The Maple Suite is adorable, beautifully designed and decorated. It is warm and cozy with a fully equipped kitchen and storage. The beds are comfortable and the suite is quiet. We love the south facing deck surrounded by flowers. The suite is located in the best part of the city, within walking distance or a short bus ride to downtown, yet in a very safe residential area. It is like living in the best of both worlds! We can walk or bike to the beach, to Granville Island, to the movie theatre, to restaurants and shops, all just a few blocks away. Yet where we live is lined with charming houses each with their own unique front gardens. We are about 10 minutes by car from both the University of British Columbia and downtown, and there is on site parking in back which is fantastic. We love our little place, and miss it when we are not here!"

  • What a Beautiful Rental!

"My family and I stayed at the Lazy Bowen Hideaway for two nights as part of a longer trip to the Pacific Northwest. It was everything that we'd hoped it would be! The rental is located in a peaceful area of the island and has a large deck overlooking the water. It is just a short walk down to a dock where my kids (ages 10 & 11) were able to do a little swimming. We enjoyed spending mornings on the deck sipping warm drinks and watching for bald eagles through the binoculars (we saw two!). The rental itself was very clean and comfortable. My favorite part was the kitchen! It was well-stocked and seemed newly-renovated. As others have noted it is a steep walk/drive from the main road to the property. We'd planned to get an SUV then at the last minute opted for a sedan and just parked on the road. This was not a problem at all. Transporting luggage took a little extra effort but not a big deal for a reasonably fit person. Big "thank you" to Jan for being a wonderful host! She gave us all of the information that we needed in a timely manner and provided everything we might want in the rental."

  • Stunning!

"As others have noted, the views are absolutely breathtaking! Once you sit on this deck, the minutes (and stresses from day-to-day life) seems to slip away! Since there is an undercover deck as well, the space can be enjoyed regardless of the weather. The suite itself is super cute and very clean. We only had two nights and wished we could stay longer. We went on short walks/hikes, beach combed, checked out the Artisan Square and lounged. We ate in, the kitchen is well equipped and organized. Jan (owner/manager) is extremely responsive and provides lots of information to help with your stay. Next time we plan to stay in the upper suite and/or rent the entire house with friends/family."

  • Fabulous

"We had a wonderful 4 nights at this beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and quiet home on Bowen Island. Chanelle met us when we got there and showed us the house. We'd stopped at a grocery store on the mainland, but the Ruddy Potatoe had a great selection of fresh foods. We thought we'd go back and forth to Vancouver but once we arrived we never felt the need to leave the island. Hiking, eating at the local restaurants, and relaxing at home was the vacation we were looking for. We lucked out and had great weather. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck, keeping an eye on the family of river otters and seals in the cove. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. The hot tub at night was beyond perfect. No, we didn't want to leave!"
