"Great location. Clean and inviting suite. Kitchen was awesome for preparing our own meals. Minutes walk from the beach or farmer's market. Friendly and accommodating owner. Bed was large and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!"

  • sightseeing and hiking with girlfriends

"The Ebb and Flow guest house was fabulous for our Tofino vacation. The view of the Inlet from the house is fabulous and the yards and decks were stunning. It's a couple of blocks to town where there are fun bars and exquisite restaurants. A short drive takes you to Chesterman and Long Beach. Owners, Donny and Steph were friendly and helpful. The home was spacious and comfortable for our group of 4."

  • Great Find in Parksville

"A great vacation stay. Spacious 2 bedroom was just right for the 3 of us. Proximity to the beach was an added bonus...we spent hours walking the beach during high and low tide! Well stocked kitchen and linens. Internet was slow, which was good as it kept us offline and bad, because it kept us offline. Connection was fast enough for email and Skype."

  • A Home Away From Home

"We spent five weeks at this cottage, just outside Duncan, B.C. If you're looking for luxury accommodation, go to a hotel, but if you want a spacious and comfortable, reasonably priced home-away-from-home this is the place for you and your family. We loved it. It's a rustic old farm house set on 11 acres. John and Victoria, our hosts, live next door, but there is an excellent sense of privacy here. Two bathrooms, a reasonably well-equipped kitchen (no dishwasher, but we were okay with that.) Two bedrooms, a high efficiency wood stove and baseboard heat. Good internet and TV for those rainy winter nights. It's furnished with an eclectic collection of cottage style furniture. Homey is how how it felt. Raffi and Pumpkin, the two donkeys provide the outside entertainment. They are a couple of characters and we got friendly with them and the small herd of Alpaacas. We made sure to have carrots on hand for some young visitors, family from Vancouver, who enjoyed feeding them carrots, through the fence. These are not pets, they are farm animals, not dangerous, but parental supervision is important here. There's a gorgeous view of Mt. Prevost out the large back windows. There's a small couch in the kitchen. At first we weren't sure why it was there, but now we totally get it. The perfect place to sit and watch the ever-changing sky. Victoria is a master gardener and while we were there, we watched the flowers begin to bloom. We were told that in the summer, the yard is a sight to behold. This is an excellent location, just outside the city of Duncan. It takes just a couple of minutes by car to get from this rural setting to grocery stores in and everything else in town and it's a short drive down to the Cowichan Bay and the other funky small communities on the ocean. You will need a car here. Don't hesitate to book this, but you'll have to get in line, because we're going back next year. Thanks to Victoria, John and Ella for the wonderful stay."
