  • Idyllic Spot

"This little cottage is in an ideal location for exploring Cape Breton. You're 5-10 mins from Cheticamp and very close to the most scenic part of the Cabot Trail and the wonderful hikes at the National Park. The amenities within the cottage are outstanding with an excellent kitchen, a washer and dryer, and most importantly a gorgeous unobstructed view of the water. We thoroughly enjoyed the patio and very private and peaceful location. My only very slight criticism is that if you are a tall/large person the upstairs is a bit cramped. Fortunately, I am small and it was just fine for my needs. All in all this is a very appealing cottage and a terrific property. I would highly recommend it if you vacation in Cape Breton and we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much Jane for sharing your lovely home."

  • Nature in all its beauty

"What a wonderful vacation! The property was amazing. The location couldn’t be better - close enough to the town and Cape Breton national park but still very much it’s own world. The house is wonderful, with enough common space for it not to feel crowded. The view from living room is breathtaking. You feel like you are on a cruise ship. The owners (Karen and David) were great to deal with. If you are looking to experience Cape Breton/Nova Scotia this is the place for you. Scott - Jaclyn - Caroline - Charles"

  • Peaceful and relaxing

"The cottage was extremely comfortable and well appointed. It was very easy to deal with both the owner and the caretaker when we arrived. The cottage is set back in the woods and is very private. It has a huge wrap around deck for relaxing at night after a long day of sight seeing. The beds were super comfortable and the linens and towels were top notch. There is plenty of room to relax in the open floor plan, kitchen, dining room & living room. All the furnishing are top of the line, extremely comfortable and there is room for everyone! The owners spared no expense when decorating. The gardens were probably my favorite, they were filled with flowering perennials and were just gorgeous. The yard is huge and great for kids or dogs to run around and play. You will not be disappointed if you rent this cottage. A bonus is the fishing lodge down the road a bit, we had a fabulous meal there! You must try it for dinner!"

"Beautiful, rustic yet comfortable, modern cottage with breathtaking views of the Gulf of St Lawrence, Sea Wolf Island and the surrounding hills and nature. Ultimate privacy and seclusion, peaceful and tranquil yet only a short distance from all the amenities and great restaurants etc. We have been vacationing all around Cape Breton for the past several summers and enjoy it immensely every time. This Cottage being on the west side and overlooking the water however means you get to enjoy incredible sunsets from the large wrap around deck. The cottage was fully equipped with anything we needed. Owner has thought of everything and even has kindling and logs of wood for the fireplace."
