  • Great for privacy

"This was a lovely spot to stay for a fall getaway, it was very quiet and private, as the other building on the property was vacant. It was super for canoeing, and the bike trail provided an easy ride into Fenelon Falls. We saw a painted turtle while out on the canoe, and a heron while on the bike trail. Fantastic! The outdoor space was generous, and lots to do, but bring a ball if you want to make use of the soccer nets, and the trampoline was a real bonus. The town is small, but has an interesting assortment of businesses, including a grocery store, bargains store, and antiques and collectibles. The ice cream parlour didn't seem to be open for the fall weekday business, but we were able to purchase Kawartha ice cream in tubs at the grocery store. It has an ok equipped kitchen, but was lacking in some basics like oven mitts, flat trays for heating in the oven, and utensils to make omelette making easy. And it would have been nice to have wine glasses for enjoying our wine. The coffee cups and glasses were also on the small side. And there is no salt and pepper provided, so be sure to bring your own. However, it is new construction, and I expect that as time goes by these things will get sorted out, and overall are minor inconveniences. Overall we had a great time, and I would definitely recommend this property, the owner answered emails promptly, and it is obvious that care has been taken of this property."

  • Clean, comfortable, and cozy. We loved it!

"It was our first time visiting this area of Ontario, and three nights was too short! Nearby Minden and Haliburton are a charming villages, and there is much to see and do around the area. All the same, it was good to get away, unplug, and relax for a few days. The cottage is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished (nice collection of books, games, and music CD's too) and the lake was perfectly serene. Only slight drawback (and we were forewarned) is that the cottage is on a somewhat steep hillside and there are many steps to get down there from the parking area. I would recommend that visitors keep this in mind when packing and perhaps consider bringing something like a little fold-up luggage cart for hauling things from the car and back. Overall, we were quite comfy and very pleased with our experience, and would love to return sometime with the grandkids in tow."

  • Beautiful

"This was a great trip. The area was beautiful with the fall colours, and the cottage very clean and lovely. It was very private, and a had a wonderful view of the lake. Eventhough it was raining for 3 or 4 out of the 5 days we stayed, we were able to make a fire and look at the stars, which was something that we really wanted to be able to do. Everything was beautiful, and Rudi's care and attention stood out for us. Thank you so very much for having us, Rudi. We had an amazing time :)"

  • Great week on reflection bay

"We all very much enjoyed our week at the cottage, and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. The cottage itself is big, tastefully decorated and furnished, and with a lot of tongue and groove pine paneling it gives it a real nice cottage feel. The large kitchen is very well equipped, very functional, and the layout has been well thought out, and it has a large kitchen table able to accommodate everyone. There are many large windows facing the lake, and despite having a few hot days it was usually breezy at the cottage, and the evenings were comfortable for sleeping. The owners are a pleasure to deal with, and were very clear in answering questions, and in providing instructions on how to care for the cottage."
