  • We had a great time

"We are a family of five and had such a great time here in August for four nights. The home is rustic and beautiful, the outdoor is particularly great. They provide two kayaks, two floats and four life jackets. We kayak to the opposite shores, swim, pick oysters from the shores, see starfishes, pick and ear fresh blackberries. We did a family painting session competition with canvas from Dollarama. There was an eagle nest right outside....We were disappointed the hammock on the photo gallery was not there but there were more than enough things to keep us occupied. The inside of the home is cottage like, probably not as comfortable as some modern condo because the three rooms downstairs were quite cramped, there is only one bathroom/ toilet, and the antique bathtub was quite difficult to use without wetting the floor as the shower curtain is difficult to wrap around tightly. However the equipped kitchen, the fantastic view, the binoculars and various board games more than make up for it, we have great family time together. We were disappointed that the DVD player didn't work, then again, there are plenty of other things to do.... One of our best family vacation. The kayaking and oyster picking was the highlight of the trip. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us."

  • Far Beyond Expectations !!!

"Our stay was lovely....the views are incredible. The chalet is lovely, so comfortable, and nicely equipped. The weather was cool and windy, and the few times it showered, we saw rainbows. The location is perfect; Summerside was an easy trip for supplies, and Charlottetown was a fun side trip. Our golden retriever enjoyed long walks on the beach, and sunny afternoons by the sliders. The owner Robin was wonderful to deal with and very prompt with responses. We have done VRBO rentals in the past, and this was so nice from start to finish."

  • Lovely family retreat, great location

"We stayed in Amanda's home for a week in late July/ early August. I stayed in the home with two small kids (a 3 year old and 6 month old), my mom and our large-ish german-shepherd-mix dog. The 3 bedroom house with a few acres of gardens more than suited our needs. Amanda was great from the get-go. She made sure we would have what we needed for the kids, including a pack'n'play crib, high chair, baby bouncer and various toys for both my preschooler and the infant. It was also very clear that the home was very accepting of pets. It was really nice to have both our kids and dog so genuinely welcomed. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a bottle of PEI wine, after Amanda ascertained our preference for red or white wine. We found the home to be very clean, tastefully furnished and equipped with all the necessities. The home had appliances that many rental homes may not have such as a blender and Keurig machine. All kitchenware was PEI-made Paderno brand, which we thought was a nice touch. Amanda made herself readily available by phone or text for any questions, including responding to my 10pm text inquiring how to operate the smart TV! We loved the location of the home. It was a 10 minute drive to Charlottetown. A few minutes drive to the nearest beach, and a little past 20 minutes to PEI National Park with some of the most beautiful beaches on the island (which the rental home conveniently provided passes for!) We also had a beautiful day trip to Basin Head Provincial Park, 1h 25min one way. Though it was an easy drive to most places, we still had a feeling of privacy and remoteness on the beautiful rural property. Of note, a couple related to the property owner resides in the property's basement apartment. We found them to be lovely and very helpful in giving us suggestions for exploring the island and not intrusive whatsoever. Basically, the stay was very comfortable, the location convenient and I loved how kid-and-pet-friendly the home was. The property owner succeeded in making us feel very at home and taken care of. We'd highly recommend the property to others, especially those who are looking for a get-away-from-it-all feel while not sacrificing ease of getting around the island. Oh, and of course those with small kids and pets!"
