  • Excellent Location, Fabulous Accommodation & Great Management

"My wife and I enjoyed a week at this location in early December 2016. We rented the Penthouse Suite and it is everything it promises to be and more. The "more" being the service that the is provided by the owner manager! We chose this location as we wanted to be close to the start of the Barbados Marathon. You couldn't get closer than this, as the event takes place on the Esplanade which is just next door to this vacation rental. Yet, the soundproofing of this building is so good that you wouldn't know that a sporting event is taking place just outside of your accommodations! The pictures provided with this property are exactly as portrayed. As are all of the extra's that are mentioned; the umbrellas, the BBQ, the deck chairs. Upon arrival, there was also a bottle of wine waiting for us to enjoy which was most appreciated. Both of the bedrooms are air conditioned, the floors are all nicely tiled and the best area of all is the huge open air terrace. (The air conditioning is nice to have but we found we didn't really use it a lot as the air here is so nice.) The furnishings are all modern and very up to date. There is a safe in the room, Bluetooth accessories and a big screen TV....not that we used these that much either as we were always at the beach or out seeing the sights. Also, power is available for both North American and European travelers which I find is a very nice feature. Shopping and eating out are just short walks and/or bus rides away. There is really no need for a car when you stay here. Besides, the short walk out your door and to the beach is where you'll probably be spending most of your time. The beach here is tremendous and it truly is where all of the snorkel tour companies come to look for turtles. The water was always calm, clear, completely safe and yes, there were turtles present. We will certainly return here the next time we come to Barbados! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!"

  • Amazing!

"Barbara rescued us from an undesirable hotel we originally booked on the south coast and she let us stay in her lovely cottage on the appropriately named Paradise Beach. As soon as we saw the view from the garden, which is right on the beach, we fell in love with the property. It is literally like having your own private beach at the end of your garden. Sunsets are amazing, especially while having a sundowner. Would love to return and Barbara is awesome."

  • Super Spot to Relax

"We stayed a week in this wonderful apartment owned by Gertrud who lives downstairs. The apartment is great for a couple (with or without kids). Our favorite part is the huge deck that overlooks the ocean. It never occurred to us what a great thing it is to have an outdoor kitchen but it meant that we could be outside with the view and weather while making breakfast or dinner. We spent most of our time on this deck. We also really enjoyed walking down the beach and swimming right outside the gate. Very peaceful. Gertrud is a wonderful host and has lived on the island a long time. She is full of information about things to do and how things work - thanks Gertrud! As others have said a car is really useful and allows you to get around. We drove into Bridgetown for bbq chicken (twice as it was so good) as well as going out twice and cooking at the apartment. We would go again in a heartbeat!"

  • Christmas at the Brick House

"We had a truly fabulous stay at Jens' place. It is situated right on one of the island's best beaches, with the famous turtles just a short snorkel from the shore. Mornings began with a beach walk as the light rose, to the left to see the racehorses swim on Pebbles Beach, to the right to touch the rocks that mark the end of the beach and the beginning of Bridgetown. We did not hire a car, choosing to walk or to use the ZR vans ($2 Bajan a trip). The location of the Bridgetown markets means you can walk in and out if you're not too loaded down. You can also buy freshly landed fish right outside the garden gate. Jens is always available if you need anything and provides a whole range of holiday gear to make your stay better – barbeque, beach chairs, umbrellas etc. We will return. We stayed in the downstairs apartment as the upstairs was not available when we booked (weirdly, both sets of people who were in it when we were there booked after us so I am not sure how that happened). I have my eye on upstairs for the return trip, it has the most astonishing view and is much, much brighter than downstairs. BUT in saying that, downstairs is fab in its on way and you're pretty much right on the beach. And Christmas there? It is what you make it. To us, it was glorious."
