  • Our 'home' away from home

"March 2017 will be our 12th consecutive year staying at LBR13 (need we say more). The owners cater to your every need and respond quickly to any questions or issues. The condo is very clean, roomy and has many features that make our stay pleasant. Due to its direction, the breeze flows through the condo and makes it very pleasant. The kitchen is well stocked with kitchen utensils, pots, pans and other items. The gas barbeque is a real plus. Off the kitchen is a storage room for all you gear and equipment. There is an American phone for your use to keep in touch with family at home. All the amenities make your stay a great experience and add to the enjoyment of your time there. We consider LBR13 our home away from home and are very happy there."

  • Wonderful Stay for Two Kiteboarding Families

"My husband and I, our baby, and another family, with their 2 babies, recently stayed at the Ryder retreat in April 2016. This villa is very spacious - despite three crying babies, we could escape to the upstairs or downstairs for privacy and quiet. This villa is very well kept, clean, and modern. The caretaker Shawn was extremely friendly and helpful. One day we lost our car keys and he came to drive us to the rental car company to get another set. The fact that linens, bath towels and beach towels are all provided was very convenient. The villa had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay: the kitchen is fully equipped (pots, pans, coffee maker, blender - the only thing missing is a kettle!), there is ensuite laundry, several bathrooms for multiple guests, and the pool was lovely with recliners all around. We are fitness fanatics so the gym was an incredible bonus!! It is also fully equipped with several weight machines, free weights, etc. The only thing lacking is cardio equipment as the bike wasn't working, but that's not a big deal as we could go for an early morning run! We went to Turks for the kiteboarding on Long Bay Beach so we spent many days there. We were hoping that the villa would be a little bit closer (that would be the only fault I can find with this place) as it was a good 12 minute drive, whereas it would have been nice to have something walking distance. But the views from the villa are beautiful as it sits on top of a hill so we enjoyed watching the sunrises. Despite the heat, we managed to keep cool just by opening the doors and windows to let the breeze through. We only used the air conditioning in the bedrooms at nighttime and turned it off during the day when we went out. Lorri and Brian, the owners, were very responsive and accommodating. They allowed us to extend our stay at the last minute (when we realized the wind was picking up for kitesurfing!). We happily give an EXCELLENT recommendation if you are considering this villa for your stay in Turks!"

  • This is were you want to stay.

"If you are looking for a home to rent in Puerto Rico stop looking. Eva's house is the perfect getaway for a couple looking for lots of room or a family looking to be together, every little detail is taken care of. The views are spectacular. Multiple golf courses nearby you're only minutes from Teeing off on some of the best-kept golf courses in the Caribbean. Restaurants are plenty and nearby. The rainforest is a 15 minute drive from the property. I could go on and on about how wonderful the villa is, but I am only going to say. BOOK IT NOW! Or someone else will get the best in Puerto Rico. George"

  • Spectacular setting

"We just spent a week at the House of Open Arms in the cottage. Everything was perfect from the time we stepped off the ferry in St. John where Catherine Perry, the owner, was waiting for us. She took us to our car rental and then we followed her back to Coral Bay where House of Open Arms is located. The setting is so spectacular it took our breath away. The cottage itself is lovely and perfectly decorated. It has a beautiful outdoor shower with that magnificent view! The dinner she prepared upon our arrival was delicious and so appreciated after 14 hours of travel. The rest of the week was an adventure. We did a lot of snorkeling and even tried a day of diving (6-Paq Scuba). The island is full of places to investigate and the snorkeling was unbelievable. Catherine directed us to places off the beaten track and we were never disappointed. She was always available for questions, but was unobtrusive otherwise. Our overall experience was 5 star. After a busy day on the island we got to return to the cottage and the beautiful view off the deck where bannanaquits were waiting for their sugar (and would feed out of your hand if you wanted!). My husband says one of his favorite places on planet earth is the chair on that deck!! We miss that view, but are grateful we experienced it! We want to go back and plan a trip for 2 weeks as one week went so fast. If you stay at the House of Open Arms Cottage, you will need 4 wheel drive to get up her driveway and once you get there will have to navigate quite a few steps (much less at the villa). However, my husband is 60 and I am 59 and we were fine. Again, it was part of the adventure and always worth it when we arrived at the cottage! When you plan a vacation from a distance, you never really know how it will turn out. This vacation & location exceeded our expectations!."
