  • Villa Tranquility - Family Vacation Dec. 2016

"We rented Villa Tranquility for one week in Dec. 2016. It was a beautiful Villa and the view is spectacular (better than the pictures!)!!! We were so happy with our choice...the villa was in great shape, very spacious & clean. The highlight is the huge balcony with both shaded & sunny ends and a view to die for! Chris was excellent, very accommodating & always easy to reach & quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Although the road to the Villa is steep & rocky, it's worth it! You do have to rent a car, but location is great as it's a quick 5 min drive to Smuggler's Cove beach (our favourite beach!) and approx 10 minutes to Pidgeon Island and Rodney's Bay where all amenities are and Reduit Beach. Chris recommended paying for transportation to the Villa from the airport (1 1/2 hr drive) & have a rental car waiting for us...definitively the right choice as roads are tricky to navigate with few road signs. Highlights of our trip were Friday night street party at north end of Rodney's Bay and day boat excursion down the west coast of St. Lucia to the Pitons & Sugar Beach. Thanks Chris for arranging everything, we appreciate all your advise & being so attentive! Definitively a 5 star rating all around! Donna, Dave, Jessica & Ryan"

  • We never wanted to leave the villa!

"Le Gallerie was such an amazing place to stay. Everything felt so open and airy, and the location was beautiful. We felt like it was both very remote and very convenient. The housekeeping staff and cook were friendly and accommodating. It was a great vacation in St. Lucia."

  • Great space

"The property is great. We stayed for our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. The overall house is huge and would be a great choice for a multiple couples or group. It was way more than anything we could have imagined. The owners also extended the deck and ordered all new deck furniture that the pictures don't show justice. The kitchen has all the amenities you could dream of and a wonderful view. The dining room area was our favorite as we had daily meals and enjoyed the breeze and view. While the house is open concept, At night the bedrooms close and air conditioning allows you protection from the bugs. There is also a tv room for the evening and some playing cards if you'd like. The infinity pool is a great place to relax throughout the day. We didn't BBQ, but there was one available if you elected to. It is a very short walk to the cove and about 10 minutes over to La Toc beach. The cove by the house is rocky and the tide comes up rather high, but it's perfect for looking for shells or sea glass and great sunsets. La Toc beach is where Sandals is located. It is a longer strip of sand, and there you can actually sign up for Sunset Cruises or other adventures you might wish to take. We did the Piton sunset cruise which was a snorkel cruise to the Pitons and then cruise back during the sunset. We just called Sandals to reserve and then went there to pay. We rented a car for a couple days. It wasn't necessary for the whole trip. We went north to Pigeon Island for a day. Great snorkeling there and only $7 US to get in. There are pizza vendors and such right outside of the park so bring a little cash. There is also several markets on the way back from Pigeon Island to get groceries at. The next day we drove to Sugar Beach for the day to hang out at the beach and see the Pitons. All beaches in St Lucia are free and Sugar Beach allows you to park for free. just bring your own towel or you'll have to pay for chairs at the beach. We attempted to have lunch at Sugar Beach. We ordered tapas that were so rediculously overpriced we were reminded how much we loved our house and Gormet kitchen. The drive south is quite windey, but we did it. The owners at the Barefoot Villa are what really made our stay. They were so kind and helpful. We arrived with a bottle of champagne awaiting us. Then, they got lobster one night and offered us some. They were very helpful, always available, and overall really cool people. Would highly recommend."

  • New, Clean, Basic - Perfect for Us

"Apartment was nearly perfect for us. Would stay here again. The building is new and everything is clean and in working order. Kitchen and sitting room are downstairs with bedroom with walk in closet and bathroom upstairs. The balcony opens off the bedroom with gorgeous view. A basic phone was available to contact manager with any issues and make local phone calls for reservations. Wi-fi worked fine. As reflected in the price, the apartment is not luxurious but it is basic done right. I was particularly impressed with the kitchen since I like to cook with local ingredients. The kitchen had basic dishware, tableware, pots/pans, and utensils as well as the appliances listed online. With a little creativity, I prepared simple dinners and breakfasts. There were a few essentials (salt, pepper, sugar and miscellaneous other items left by previous occupants). We were able to purchase all that we needed at Eroline's small supermarket in Soufriere. The Massey's (formerly Super J) off highway in Vieux Fort on the way from the airport to Soufriere is larger and also convenient to stockup if you have car (or your taxi can easily stop there). The apartment was 30 min walk from downtown/beach and a 40 min. steep, uphill walk back, probably less for younger folks. We enjoyed the walk through the residential area, using small shops and bakery on the way to town, saw soccer practices and children on their way to school, ie opportunity to see local life as well as use the apartment as base for visits to beaches and tourist attractions. Only negative was the late night barking dogs several houses away on the weekend, heard despite the A/C fan on high. I slept through them but my husband did not. Apparently dogs were barking at people passing by so was not an issue late on weeknights. Thanks to Janus and his team for providing this comfortable vacation opportunity!"
