"Thank you Marcia & Modesto for an amazing vacation at Villa Serena. The house, the location, the entire property was beautiful. Marcia is so sweet and her cooking was amazing. The only downfall was the language barrier between us but thank goodness for Google Translator. I'm very motivated now to learn to speak better Spanish. There were only a couple minor things that we felt needed to be addressed: Your cookware supply is dismal. There were only two frying pans - both of which were ready for the garbage - the one pan had a loose handle (which we kept tightening but the screw was stripped and both pans - the teflon is worn off. We chose to cook ourselves a couple times and found it a bit frustrating with the lack of pots and pans. The dishwasher is on its last legs so we suggest replacing or getting it fixed. We washed all our dishes by hand because it did not clean at all. We put all our ingredients into the blender to make Mango Margaritas but the blender was not working either. The motor works but the blades to not turn & when we looked at it you could tell that the grooves were stripped that makes the blade turn - so a good quality new blender is also another suggestion. Lastly, we found that the chairs and the shade umbrellas around the pool area needing upgrading. The dollar-store quality fold-out chairs were just that. Perhaps a few more comfortable loungers would be a good idea. Regardless of these few minor things that need fixing, or replacing, we all had a fantastic vacation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone considering a Costa Rica vacation."

  • Surf

"Ola Jaula was the perfect retreat! We arrived with very helpful instructions. Each of us were thrilled with our location being so close to the surf spot as well as several shops, bars, massages and a restaurant on the same cul da sac . The home was so comfy and had many comfort of home feels. We enjoyed being able to sit on the lanai and enjoy our freshly brewed Costa coffee in the morning. After hitting the beach we would head back and enjoy the pool and shade of the lanai. The weather was so amazing we rarely had time to enjoy the comfy inside living area. However it was nice having our own washer and dryer. Location and amenities are key! This place hits the bulls eye for a true pura vida experience!"

  • Robin's Nest is the center point for upscale luxury accomodations in Nosara's surfing paradise.

"I made a 14 day stay at Robin's Nest specifically to unwind, surf, eat and sleep. It did not disappoint. I literally counted 147 paces from the outdoor shower and surf rack of this enclosed secure private home to the premier surf break in Playa, Guiones. Surf checks in the morning with a cup of French pressed coffee became a ritual and true pleasure. Luxury accommodations at Robin's Nest are upscale, new, fully-stocked, contemporary, clean, and meticulously maintained. It could not have been better. No rental vehicle was required as it is centrally located within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the supermarket but a rental does make day trips to other close by surf breaks a breeze. Soaking the in private in ground pool with a beverage of choice after a second surf session was exactly the casual low-key lifestyle moment that Robin's Nest delivers. There are only a few other accommodations with this kind of proximity to the beach and surf but none that I saw that matched the privacy convenience and casual luxury of Robin's Nest. The owner's of Robin's Nest and their property management team have it figured out. Kind, unobtrusive and competent the team at Robin's Nest has mastered the art of support, hospitality and availability while remaining virtually unseen. I was so appreciative and pleased with Robin's Nest that I have recommended it to to my closest friends as the top tier private rental in Nosara. I'm looking forward to my next visit with wife and child, continuing some new found friendships and making good on my promise to teach the owner of Robin's Nest how to surf."

  • A Month In Casa Vidrio

"My family (myself, wife, 3 young boys ages 5,3,1) were lucky enough to stay in Casa Vidrio for a month. The house is great with everything to cook any meal and plenty of space for a family like mine. The inclosed patio is great to spend time on and eat without having to fight bugs and stay dry when the thunderstorms move in, while still having the open room feeling. My only complaint would be not having acess to the laundry room, with the three little guys blowing through their clothes it would have been nice to be able to laundry ourselves. However, the mermaids and laundry facilities in playa guiones still make doing laundry accessible the majority of the time. The house is off the beaten path a little so very little vehicle traffic which I personally think is a plus. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach which i enjoyed doing every morning to and from surfing. I would recommend having a car, quad, or bike if you want to enjoy the amenities of Playa Guiones that walk would be tiresome after a while and with little ones a pain. The monkeys also love travelling by the house and eating the leaves and mangos on the property. This was great for the kids, beats the zoo anytime. I would highly recommend Casa Vidrio the home owners are very accommodating and were pleasant to communicate with before, during, and after our stay. We felt completely safe the entire time and I would not hesitate to stay here again."
