"If your looking for a first class home with a breathtaking view and pool, this is your place. We had iguanas suning by the pool everyday thousands of parrots flying in yard along with a steady stream of butterflies passing over the pool all day long Each morning we would go out front to watch the monkeys passing by in the trees you have truly built a paradise in a paradise. Thank you so much for sharing this place with us. I would also like to thank Daniel he is truly a gem sincerely Larry"

  • Beautiful view & safe, quiet, serene area

"We stayed in Sámara for 3 nights during our 8 days in Costa Rica in May 2016. Sherry was prompt and helpful with her emails prior to our stay. Upon arrival, Larry was welcoming and walked us around to orient us and answered any of our questions. It was dusk when we arrived and it wasn’t until the next morning (in the sunlight) we realized a few screens were bent just enough to allow bugs in. Best rule of thumb we found: once it was dark enough to need a light on inside (as few as possible so as not to attract more bugs!), we closed the windows and turned on the A/C in the bedroom. We had so few bugs that way, they weren’t bothersome (which is great for Costa Rica). The bedroom cooled quickly enough with the A/C to sleep comfortably. The WiFi worked well for us the entire stay. The villa is setup as a duplex (one building split into two separate houses, sharing an interior wall). Larry & Sherry live in the other part of the building. In this case, the kitchen/living room wall was the only shared wall (with a door we could knock on if we needed them). So you don’t have to worry about sound traveling from the bedroom and bathroom, etc. We heard very little of our hosts when we were there. When on our balcony, we could see their balcony and the pool area but never saw them out there. I got the feeling they intentionally made themselves scarce to give us our privacy and run of the property. A few times, as we pulled into the driveway, Larry would come to his front door to ask if everything was going well and if we needed anything. They seemed approachable and willing to visit or answer questions but took their cues from their guests (in our case, we enjoyed the solitude and privacy). When relaxing on the beautiful balcony overlooking the bay, I was grateful to have this quiet little sanctuary, away from the town of Samara and the road, where we would have heard music, people and motorbikes. We had a rental car, so this property worked great for us. The beach was a 15-20 minute walk/5 min drive. When deciding if you need a rental car, think of how often you walk at home. If you regularly walk to work, stores or restaurants, the walk to the beach should be okay for you (coming back is uphill, so you might opt for the $4 taxi). If you drive everywhere at home, this may not be the place to stay for you without a rental car. The quietness and serenity were higher priorities to us than being steps from the beach. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Samara."

  • Pura Vida!!!!

"My husband and I just spent a month in one of these apartments. We chose this spot because of the photos and reviews. We were not in the least bit disappointed! We thoroughly enjoyed our Costa Rican experience and now understand Pura Vida! The apartment is exactly as it is represented in the photos. Clean, bright, open and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is very well equipped and the BBQ is an added bonus. There are some very welcomed extras, such as numerous quality towels and linens, great beach towels and chairs. We did not lack any of the comforts of home. The apartment is on the outskirts of town, but it really is a 5 minute walk to the beach and about 15 minutes along the beach to town. We did not want to rent a car this vacation and we never regretted our decision. If we needed to get to or from town, a taxi was always available and reasonably priced. The bus also stopped right out the door. For us, a daily walk became routine. The beach is beautiful. It changes drastically from high to low tide. It is an amazing place to run - early morning or early evening. Safe for children, but fun for adults and many aquatic activities. Sunsets are spectacular! The town is very laid back, but with all the necessary conveniences. Everyone is very friendly and we always felt safe. Good number and variety of restaurants. There is a great information service in town that will help direct you towards many different tours or just answer questions. Deborah, the owner/manager is also a great help. She is available at all times and wants her guests to be happy. Her sons run the Canopy tour and that is a must activity!! Very professional and exciting but safe for all ages. There is even a discount for tenants. As mentioned in other reviews, this apartment is on the main road. There is noise, up until around 10 at night. The roosters ,dogs and monkeys also make themselves known, but all of this is part of the "true" Costa Rican experience. We so enjoyed our morning coffee on our balcony and an evening drink as the sun set, watching the world go by. We really felt like became a part of the community. All in all, a wonderful home away from home in a beautiful country."

  • Perfect Condo for two.

"We stayed for 9 nights in April 2016 It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. It is the perfect getaway for a couple. The Condo had a full kitchen that was very important to us, as we love to cook, we even found a BBQ in the laundry room. A small fish market and butcher shop and fresh produce all walking distance. We had a car and would always rent a car, so you can check out other beaches. The views are second to none. You can stare out the front windows at the Ocean all day. Loved that all the windows opened for a breeze, Nick the host was great, and our pal at the front gate, and of course Chester the dog. We brought our own spices to cook with, super comfy bed. I could write more awesome comments, but back to work now to save money for our return trip. . I’ll be back, for sure – POOL WAS AMAZING! Thanks Lisa & Chuck"
