  • Heaven & Earth Collide!

"I've stayed in a lot of beach homes around the world and El Jacalito is definitely in my top 3! I was leading a mission trip team of 9 people to San Salvador for 10 days and we wanted to rent a beach home to spend our last 3 days at the end of our trip to celebrate what we'd accomplished and to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of the sun, surf and palm trees, all in the comfort of a nice home. This house and property fulfilled our every need and more! We needed 9 individual beds...there are 12 in the 5 spacious rooms. We wanted a friendly staff to take care of cooking...watch out...Maura is a phenomenal cook and she and her husband will kill you with their kindness! :) The kitchen is so perfect for everything you need and the outdoor, covered living/dining space doesn't get much better! Step out into the pool area and you feel like your at a 5 star resort. You can sip on hot coffee in the mornings while swinging in the hammocks that surround the beachside gazebo. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning and las olas (the waves) are non-stop. Organizing the rental with an american owner (Carol) made things so much easier and smooth. She has a great heart and offers up lots of advice for enjoying all the area has to offer. The other great feature is that it's a quick and easy ride from the airport at about 40 mins. So it makes arrival and departure a breeze. If you want to totally unplug, and disconnect from the noisy fast paced life that we are so used to, I highly recommend El Jacalito. This is my new go-to home for El Salvador and all of my mission trip teams!"

  • Beachfront Treasure in Little Known El Zonte

"My family and I spent 8 days here over Christmas and we couldn't have asked for anything more. First off the live in host family (Mario and Marina) the stay relaxing by cooking the most delicious meals we have ever had while on vacation and touring us around for supplies and to attractions. They don't speak much English and we speak even less Spanish, but through hand signals and a translation App communication was simple. Mario and his family are very special people. Now to the property. Tia Tita is everything as advertised and more. It is situated right on the beach where 80 degree water awaits to go tackle the waves. We swan several times everyday we were there. The beach was never crowed and a couple of days we had it pretty much to ourselves. The pool is small, but very refreshing after some suntanning. The temperature was between 93 and 96 everyday with no rainfall. The property is well maintained everyday and the layout is perfect. There is a two tiered gazebo that overlooks the ocean that we often sat on the upper deck for hours. The sunsets and sunrises are the most amazing we have ever witnessed. If you are looking for rest and relaxation mixed in with seeing some of the country this is the place. Not being at a resort and still not having to worry about preparing your meals makes this place special. We always felt safe off the property and everyone had an "Ola" and a smile to offer. Finally, dealing with Gordon was easy and smooth even if he gets the arrival date wrong lol. Sun, fun and relaxation is what Casa Tia Tita is all about. Check it out, you won't be disappointed."
