  • Great location, comfortable

"My wife and I and our adult daughter stayed for five nights in this well-located and well-furnished apartment. It was very clean and well-stocked when we arrived. As others have said, the apartment is a short walk from pretty much all of central Galway, which is extraordinarily easy to explore on foot. I would not drive, if you can help it. Take the train from Dublin or another city, and just walk everywhere. All the good things others have said are true. We would stay there again and also recommend it. One thing missing from the other reviews is that the master bedroom with the ensuite bathroom does not have a balcony outside the window, which allows quite a bit of road noise from Dock Road, which is a main route into town. If you are a light sleeper, this can wake you up. The other two bedrooms are less noisy when the traffic is active. Again, this is a great apartment and Martin is an excellent owner with whom to work. The price of this for the quality and location is very good."

  • Outstanding location and value

"Family of four visiting from the U.S. with two college-aged children on a driving vacation; stayed for 3 nights. The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and clean, and lived up to the pictures and descriptions on the web. Considering the multiple night stay with a kitchen, Ollie and Mary charge a very reasonable rate when compared to hotel or B&B alternatives. The apartment is in a quiet area, but it's just a short walk (5-10 min) to all of the pubs and excitement in the central district of Galway City. Street parking close to the apartment was always easy to find. Check out the in-apartment chalk board recommendations for local pubs and dining--spot on. This is a great place to stay for a few nights and provides a perfect starting point for day-trip exploring to places like Connemara and the Aran Islands. Not a better stay for the price on our entire 10 day stay in Ireland!"

  • A wonderful stay at the "Swallow Loft"

"We started our Ireland adventures in Galway and were very, very pleased with the accommodations at Swallow Loft. The house and amenities were exactly as described in the listing, which was very important to us since we planned to do a lot of cooking during our stay. The quiet and serene country setting offered a relaxing way to start and end our busy days --- well worth the short drive into town. I can't say enough wonderful things about the hosts, Peggy and Tony, especially with the additional help they provided when a family emergency arose. They were extremely caring, kind and understanding! The only regret we had was that our stay was shorter than we wished. We would highly recommend the Swallow Loft for anyone visiting the Galway area."
