  • In the middle of it all, yet a quiet bedroom

"This apartment was so close to everything in the center, yet with the bedroom on the back of the apartment, it was really quiet at night. I loved that I could look out the front windows and see life passing by on the street below, or go to the back, open the doors to the little balcony for a change. The apartment is large and comfortable. Lots of services nearby, walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Campo del Fiore, the Colosseum- pretty much any of the sites. Maybe a 30-minute walk to Trastevere? I didn't feel the need for either mass transit or cabs, except to get from the train station to the apartment and then out to the airport. I stayed in four different apartments during this trip and this was the only one with a dishwasher! I didn't really cook but the kitchen seemed to have everything you'd need. Having the washer is also nice. As with most apartments, there is no dryer but clothespins and a rack are available. Working with Pamela was really easy and seamless. I even had notice that my deposit refund was in process less than a week from my checkout. Two things prevented me from rating it 5 stars. The building is very old, as you'd expect. When I first entered I was a little overwhelmed by the mold/mildew smell in the foyer and in the elevator. However, there was no hint of this in the apartment itself! I only mention it because if you have allergies this could be an issue. The other thing, which is really more of a notice than a big issue, there was only a partial roll of toilet paper when I arrived, so I bought a pack and when I was leaving I couldn't find either dishwasher detergent or dish soap. I'm not sure if this was an oversite or standard but you may need to pick up a few supplies. There's a Coop grocery store a couple blocks away that will have everything you need. Hopefully, something you won't experience..... I was in this apartment during the recent earthquakes. There was definite movement but everything stayed in place. I'd definitely stay here again."

  • December in Rome

"We truly loved the apartment and location and would rent the place again in a heartbeat! Everything was wonderful; the location for sightseeing, the metro and cab station in front of the coliseum, plenty of day eateries and nice restaurants at night. A small but well stocked grocery was just a couple of blocks away. But the best thing was the view of the coliseum from the lovely terrace; during the day and at night. We aren't wealthy people and usually stay in apartments. We decided to go all out since we were taking our 87 year old Aunt on her first international trip. We were truly rewarded in our choice because of apartment views. We had cocktails every night on the terrace while looking at the coliseum and we just happened to stay during the full moon, which made it more magical. Trust me when we say this apartment is well worth it. It is magnificent!"
