The pool, the kitchen I would like the food package for us to be able to choose. As most of the products we either didn't like or couldn't eat. So if it was possible for us to have a tick box for the food items we would like to be included. Also the composite flooring is breaking up, so when walking around bare feet you could encounter loose bits that hurt your feet. I have photos if the you would like to see. The bed was extremely uncomfortable waking up with backache

This villa is beautiful and the hosts were super helpful and communicative when needed. Pool is so lovely and gets sun all day. Kitchen was really well appointed and it's a short drive to any amenity you could desire (grocery store, restaurants, the beach). Lots of great local recommendations from hosts and previous guests. Some surrounding villas are being worked on/built as of Oct 2024, but workers were not noisy and we barely noticed. Would be happy to stay here again.

This is a wonderful cottage nestled in the hills of Crete surrounded by olive trees. The place is immaculately clean, and comes with plentiful amenities such as a full kitchen, a washing machine, an outdoor shower, and AC in the bedroom. The AC worked extremely well to keep the bedroom cool even though it was 95+F during the week. The kitchen was great with everything you could want (fridge/freezer/stove/etc). I didnt use it as I was eating out. I booked this place thinking it was closer to downtown Kolymbari...I'm new to VRBO and didn't realize the pin shown for the property on VRBO is not the actual location. I was attending a conference at the Orthodox Academy of Crete in Kolymbari which was a 20 minute drive through the mountains. I realize now the description does mention it's location in the hills (but I didn't know what that meant at that time) and I should have clarified this before booking. So my only negative was that it was not closer to Kolymbari and the OAC. I think this would be a great base of operations on Crete, but a car would be required to get around.

We are so thankful for our time here. Stella provided a wonderful vacation home and a welcoming, safe and beautiful atmosphere. The home had more than everything needed and beyond. The pool, the house, the market, all was great. Stella was beyond a wonderful host - from a warm welcome (with home cooked food!) to continued support as needed, we couldn’t have asked for more. This was a perfect stay for our family (incl. a child).

We were four couples and three kids spread across three generations who came from across the US and UK for a long overdue week together. The two complete villas gave us enough room be all together when we wanted to be, but to spread out whenever that suited as well. The ample back yard and location right on the beach meant that we didn’t have to drive anywhere to let the kids run around like crazy when they wanted to, and the total absence of close neighbors meant that we didn’t have to care how much noise they made. It was great!

Villa Sofas is a genuine treasure. Located a short distance from the beach, it has privacy and intimacy . The flowers and birds are a treat. The hosts are knowledgeable, helpful and truly friendly people who want their guests to have a great time. Everything you need is at the house; a car is helpful but certainly not a requirement. We travel extensively and can easily say this house and hosts are exemplary. Don’t miss this one !!

We loved our 4-night stay at Thea Thalassa! Elena was very welcoming, meeting us at the home at our preferred time, and she was there to see us off when we left for the airport, even though it was just after 7am. She made us a delicious chocolate cake to welcome us and was happy to show us all of the home's features. The view of the sea from the patio is so beautiful and the pool is stunning (my 2 girls spent a lot of time in it!) We appreciated the air conditioning in both bedrooms because the heat of the day can really make things hot at night for sleeping. The kitchen had everything we needed, including pots and pans, a dishwasher, and even a washing machine (no dryer, but there was a large drying rack and hanging your clothes outside in the Greek heat dries them very quickly.) There was a parking space with a gate you closed at night. We opted to take the bus into Chania a few times after seeing that the parking situation in town could be tricky. The bus is only 1.70 Euros per ride, and the 21 bus picks up just past the hotel that is below the house. It lets you off right near the old town and the ride is about 30 minutes. We took a taxi home at night, which would cost 10 Euros. On a few nights, we sat outside on the patio with a nice bottle of wine that Elena left for us and enjoyed the live music that was playing at the bar in the hotel below the house - it was like having our own private concert and it stopped right at 11pm so the neighborhood could sleep. Our favorite thing about Thea Thalassa was that it was like our own oasis outside of the bustle and crowds of Chania. We could "get away from it all", but still be only a few miles from the history, restaurants, and shops of Chania. There are also some nice restaurants in Kalamaki that are a short walk from the house, when you just don't feel like heading into the city. Overall, Thea Thalassa exceeded our expectations and was one of the nicest homes we've ever rented!
