  • Best location in Cabo

"Stayed at Villa La Estancia first week of August. The owner John was great to work with during the rental process and makes you feel at ease. He sends a lot of information regarding the villa that will help you during your stay. The villa is beautiful and location within the resort is one of the best. Our group was 4 adults and 3 college age boys. We had plenty of room with fantastic views. John's staff welcomed us upon arrival with margaritas, salsa, guacamole, and chips. (We ate so much we had to skip dinner). Everything represented by John and Villa La Estancia is exactly what you will get. We did not eat much at the resort because we like to get out and enjoy the local flavor of foods. You will not get a bad meal or service anywhere in Cabo san Lucas. Would highly recommend and look forward to our next stay. THANK YOU."

  • WOW! Truly a 5-star experience - Part III

"For Walmart, and town – just walk right outside the resort. There are local buses every 10 minutes or so…. 3 lines, but each of them go to Walmart first and then to town before they do their full 1.5 hour loops. My 3 year old and I did the full loop once for fun. VERY bouncy so not for the queasy – and you need to be pretty adventurous because you go way out to the rural poor areas – but if you really want to see some non-tourist parts of Mexico, it’s an experience. You’ll need to take a taxi back/stand is right outside Walmart (or walk back from town which we did a few times --- just walk right by McDonald’s – yes you can never get too far away from “America” in tourist-Mexico! Fair is 12 pesos – or you pay with a $1 bill. Yes it bounces like crazy --- but it’s a 5 minute adventure. Walmart has EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. Stock up and enjoy. They also sell Wine and Alcohol. There is a huge spirits store in the same complex – think “BevMo” with lots of selection --- and a nice food court with about 8 restaurants. We ate there a few times as part of our shopping – pretty much the best deal we found and delicious! We even came back to the Sushi restaurant (Koi Sushi) – which was recommended – and VERY good actually with really good prices too! You can walk into town and the Marina – along the road --- or the beach – but’s it a pretty good distance. Bus (see above) or taxi is better option. Also outside the property is an amazing bakery with cinnamon rolls. You’ll find another kiosk from this bakery just outside Walmart (pretzel rolls, etc.) but for the cinnamon, you have to go the main one. The Marina has high end shopping, lots of U.S. chain restaurants and shops like Haagen Daas, etc. and lots of great Mexican food. If you want to have fish therapy/fish pedicure, do it at the Paradiso Mall in the center court – it’s half the price of the Villa del Arco spa – but DO go into that spa and check it out --- wow – it’s supposedly the largest in Latin America and is just beautiful. Treatments are overpriced, but when in Rome…. When in town, go over and watch the cruise ships arrive and all the day tour operators jocky for business. Cacophony of craziness! Book a sport fishing charter, Scuba (or SNUBA which we did with my 7 year old who loved it) or Sea Trek which will be back operating soon/the area on the sea floor needed time for sand to rebuild after the Hurricane), swim with dolphins, ..."

  • Good family vacation location

"We stayed in a second floor unit suitable for up to 6 people (king, double and a set of bunk beds). The beds were solid with good linens and the two bathrooms had plenty of towels. The unit was clean and looked as pictured. The kitchen had all the cooking tools needed with plenty of plates and cutlery. There were a couple of maintenance issues with our unit, but Ginny was actively working on getting them solved. Ginny took excellent care of us from start to finish and I hope to use her services in the future! She also prearranged (including payment) of our transportation to and from the airport; a great relief to us during our planning. There are two elevators, making life much easier for my mom who has a hard time on stairs. There is ramp from the street level to the reception area, but it is gated and locked most of the time. There is a wheelchair available most of the time, luggage storage in the reception area, a mini store, ATM machine, and spa. Excellent food and friendly staff at the poolside bar and grill. This is an excellent facility for families. Easy walking distance to the ocean and a number of good places to eat."
